I think that if you are confident in your writing and your readers, you can ditch the relationship stats. Softened eyes or a slight smile are plenty to signal growth in a relationship. I feel like those updates break immersion, and are mainly for the type of games @Lucid makes, where you have to constantly keep an eye on your stats, and end up just trying to get the right numbers, instead of making thoughtful plot and character based descisons.

Ha ha! As with everything else, there are folks making good points for both sides. I respect everyone’s opinions and I am torn, but I’ve decided to ditch the relationship messages because ultimately I view CCH as more of a story than a game, at least 60/40 on the story/game spectrum.
My wife views it more as a game and would favor stats all over the place, so even my family is divided. My daughters don’t care other than they like Tress “the girl with the hair.”
@Polyhymnia In my next game, you get the option of turning off the stat updates so that it will appeal to both types of players.

I won’t get roll out beta this week as I had planned. The changes to the mechanics have taken a lot of time to go back and implement though the story and I still have some content to add. But rest assured I am working like a madman and totally ignoring my family this holiday weekend.
You should spend time with your family instead of catering to our selfish desires for an awesome game. We can wait

@HornHeadFan Instead of taking the relationship options out why not add an option at the beginning giving the reader an option. It seems like it could be feasible and would make everyone happy.

No we are just an interns, the real diabolical dozen are on break…
but all the cool villains announce their intentions to give the appearance of being inept in reality its just a way for us villains to make the heroes look even worse when they fall for it despite the obviousness there always is a trick even if there is none… so who is evil now. MWHAHAHAAAA!
also good game so far very extensive stoic is kinda odd but I’m guessing that was the goal there
dirty girl seems like a burnout style hero that develops into a anti-hero that everyone tends to shy away from except the newbies and anarchist style heroes her and the tentacle hair lady(brainfart on name) will definitely associate well with both sides of the everyday spectrum of our inner selves

My current plan is 7 chapters, although that is subject to change based on a number of factors. The content is pretty much set (still adding stuff) but I might break a few of the current long chapters into smaller ones.
And I won’t get much done on CCH until this weekend. This week is ridiculous at work and my wife has some out-of-town trips as well.
So we see it Monday or something? I can’t wait for beta!! I hope the chapters are really long!! I also hope u don’t post it Saturday as I will be busy all day lol hope to see it tomorrow Sunday or Monday! Keep up the great work!
