I actually like to have a decent amount of text between each choice. Like 1 or 2 pages.
HornHead, do you think when we choose to leave the party that DG invited us to because of the illegal behavior, we could have some stat boosted, just so it’s not all bad?
As I’m telling you please I repeat do not make comments like that. It’s one of the major rules on here. This is by far one of the best games in this site. Also I agree we should have some stat for leaving when we see drugs involved but that would most likely invoke a lot of rewriting. But it’s up to the author
I always loved superheroes so it’s nice to see a new game with them but by far my favorite would have to be marvel. I also can’t wait to see more of origami. And stoic is interesting too. That would be really funny if it turns out you were destined to be with her. Could add for detective mode being scrawny? The other choices are kinda lame for it. Anyway that’s my opinion
Well Detectives are inherently strong (pow) and aware (hmm) so the only possible weaknesses are clumsy, bad aim, afraid to get it, and overweight. Before the game is released, I make sure the weaknesses are fairly balanced.
And I’m working hard to avoid “destiny” type themes. In my opinion, those are overdone. I don’t even want the whole narrative/conflict to revolve around the MC or the MC’s backstory.
I’m aiming for a story where the MC lands in a situation with greater forces at work. The MC isn’t even a blip on anyone’s radar.
At least not in part I.
That being said, I know a lot of folks like Stoic and I have definitely taken that into account!

I agree with you on the whole destiny thing. I mean, one of the recurring themes about your character is that they aren’t destined or gifted with powers, they just worked really hard to be here, which I think is a pretty cool concept.
I love the fact that we are cheering for how unimportant we are. / That said I am very happy to hear that the story doesn’t only revolve around us. Not saying I want the MC to be entirely inconsequential but It always removes the suspension of belief when your always the “chosen” one. Always fun to be a knight in a game of chess instead of the king or queen. Also glad to hear that you take fans into account. I know some people who’ll completely ignore us little people. I am very much looking forward to reading this when it is finally done. Oh randomly large comment saying useless things, how you complete me. :-))
@AdamGoodtime, I’m glad you’re on board with lack of importance. Wait…maybe I’ll change my mind and have the MC possess latent mutant powers, discover DG is his/her long lost twin sister, and uncover a prophecy predicting the MC will bring balance to the universe.
@anyhelpbob, I like your chess analogy. The MC’s backstory does connect with the Dozen already, and you can certainly anticipate that the MC’s future interactions with the Dozen, Mega Cat and the twins running Savior will have significant impacts on the story. So you will influence events, but you didn’t set things into motion and you aren’t the center of attention.
Hopefully folks will see I’m trying to create a very different story than Heroes Rise, as I’d hate anyone viewing CCH as a poor ripoff.
And I have 5 uninterrupted hours of writing time today, thanks to an out of town baby shower being attended by my wife and daughters. I very much need this!
Well I have reworked the game significantly, putting about 20 hours of work into it this last week
wrote in scenes showing why the MC spends most of his/her time with the same 8 or 9 students that is also a nod to my favorite tv show,
streamlined the stats screen and simplified stats using 1-10 approach that will make coding the rest a lot easier. Relationships will remain 1-100% fair math.
removed stunner as RO to give me more time to focus on Crook, Tress, Mob, and DG as ROs,
tweaked Hedonist and his scenes to make it more subtle,
made sure that you are rewarded for choosing to spend more time studying a certain subject, meaning you’ll be able to do unique things based on study stat upgrades that would have otherwise been impossible to accomplish.
