Community College Hero: Releasing Soon

@Samuel_H_Young, yep I can do that. I’m also starting to build my website so it will go there too. Still figuring out host and design but thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster, there are tons of tutorials out there.

R’amen!

Keep up the great work on this game bro! I’m so looking forward to the dates with mob and stunner.!! Would it be possible to romance the professors as well? I’m curious on that end

@Crossover, I didn’t know any of the folks in the thread even liked Stunner. Based on feedback, Stunner and Uni were far behind the other four. In fact, lots of readers were suggesting adding even more ROs like Stoic, Origami and even a professor or two. I just felt like the sheer number of ROs was going to detract from a quality of any relationships I could write.

Let’s see what the beta feedback is. Hopefully we’ll get some new readers who haven’t been part of thread yet.

I for one would love to find out more about Nil (dunno about romance there though)… I could actually see wanting to romance, say, McCormick if I were playing an older character; the oldest option was what, thirty five? Anyway, just a thought; either way I’m sure the sequels will be brilliant. (:

quick question brought on by Fiogan’s comment: will age have an impact on romance options? the characters seem pretty “go with the flow” so far but i’m wondering if having a character who is 10-15 years older will be a turn off.story-wise it would make sense, since i have a hard time believing that most teenagers would seek out a 35 year old as a boy/girlfriend.

@Fiogan, yeah McCormick might be romanceable in the future. I’m not sure about brilliant but thank you!

@AdamGoodtime, I’ll probably keep the age options just to give readers more immersion but I’m pretty much ignoring it as a stat based on the masks helping to somewhat obscure that sort of thing. Just chalk it up everyone being “open minded” I mean they’re all bi, after all. A 15 year age difference wouldn’t be insurmountable.

The funny thing about romances in CS is that almost all NPCs are bi :stuck_out_tongue: (in my works, too)

HornHead, have you thought about making a Facebook page as well?

I have a another question: Would it be possible to creat a save system? Cuz it would save time for some players at least after chapters 1 or 2 and really get to the good stuff. I’m just saying.

@Samuel_H_Young, I have, but until there is an actual product, I’m not sure what I would put on there. “coming in the next 6 months?”

@StarWarsMaster, I might try, if just for beta testing, but I don’t know how to implement one and I read in a recent thread that they are add ons to CS and have to be removed before release so I have no idea how ZE, Heroes Rise Demon Hunter include those.

for the record i’m fine with the age difference not changing things.
that being said i will probably avoid being that much older, simply because it’s(a little)weird for me. just a preference though.

Can anyone give me a link to the demo please? :D. Thanks in advance if you do.

@ShadowHunter
LINKREMOVED

Really loving this game so far, I’m designing my own super hero game and it’s nice to see how different the genre can be since this is more akin to Avengers Academy and Team Zero feels more like Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD or Secret Warriors.

Tress is my girl so far but it’s great to find that all the female characters my male hero can date - Tress, Origami and Dirty Girl - are all interesting and varible. It was amusing to find that having finally won the contest in the early chapter that Stunner doesn’t feel anything as much as a jerk in that playthrough.

@derekmetaltron, I’m glad you’re enjoying it thus far. I agree that the comic book/hero genre, even just on CoG, has room for varied interpretations and approaches.

For example, I am a big Heroes Rise fan - I loved the length, the number of NPCs and the awesome universe building. I even appreciated “slugger!” It had a nice silver age vibe with some modern touches. I totally saw the MC as Peter Parker/SpiderMan considering his/her limited resources, living with grandmother who reminded me of Aunt May, etc. I wanted to go more quirky and maybe a bit edgier. I am sooooooooo wanting to read Team Zero but will hold off until I submit CCH.

And @Lucid wrote a short story called Chronos for the May contest and it is extremely fun and very silver agey! He did a masterful job in making you consider how to use your powers, considering your limited power supply. You could wipe the floor with the first few baddies if you wanted, but then you run out of steam. It’s a very addictive little game and I would love to see him develop it more fully but I’m not sure if he’s interested in doing that.

What’s your hero WiP called? What kind of spin are you putting on yours?

And I’m still fine tuning Stunner. I want his reactions to -really- vary based on your first interactions with him. He tends to hold a grudge, whereas most the others, even Origami if you bing her in Capture the Flag, will typically forgive and forget. Wellll…if you diss Origami the second time, she’s not so forgiving. And Tress can view you as a pervert…but none of them hold a grudge like Stunner…at least that will be my intent once it gets beta tested and balanced.

I’ve been saving this for a rainy day… and just seeing that the stats are Pow, Zap, Thud, Whoosh, Shhh, Hmmm, and Yay fills me with profound joy.

@Havenstone, I eagerly await your feedback when you get done!

I’m glad you like the stats. I’ll eventually add short explanations on the stats page, but I hoped the onomatopoeia was fairly clear to most readers, especially comics fans.

Stat explanations - I quite liked the little summaries under ‘Explanation of Hero Stats and Combat Styles’. I confess I had to read it more than once to remember some of the differences, but that was no trouble. (: It helps as well that the ‘explanation’ choice was right below the ‘view stats’ choice, so no chance of missing it.

@HormHeadFan Thanks, I think the super hero genre has lots of options and that multiple ways of approaching super powers are possible. Whilst the name isn’t finalised yet I’m thinking of calling it Silver Age or Silver Age Spy. It’s basically going to be not just a tribute to the early years of comics but also James Bond and classic 50’s sci fi and B-flicks. So Cold War Spies of the 50’s meet super powers, all leading up to an alternate version of the Cuban Missile Crisis where you heroic super spy group battles a sinister SMERSH like terror group.

So characters inspired by those like a M meets Nick Fury or Amanda Waller boss. And since CCH and TZ both have characters without powers and HR has a set power, I want to let the player not only select their core power, but also their power’s origin - inspired by classic ways heroes have gained powers in comics - and their country of origin - either Britain, the USA, the Soviet Union or China - all of which affect elements of gameplay or how NPC’s respond to you. And like Mecha Ace I have in mind about four fellow agents whose gender can be changed, one from each country mentioned above. Ambitious but a fun concept.

I think you’ve handled all the various characters very well, and even though I find Stunner to be like Flash Thompson with super strength, in words someone who thinks way too much of himself, he’s still likable. Tress is my favourite though.
