Community College Hero: Releasing Soon

@RagEgnite, tonight I’m blaring Steve Winwood and Van Morrison on my iPad as I write a Mob date scene. B-)

@HornHeadFan Aww Mob date would be adorable, I just wish I didn’t have to be against investigating ourselves and joining Crook and DG to date him.

@trollhunterthethird, I might insert a “date Mob” option if you choos to have lunch with him in chapter 3. That woukd make him accessjble to everyone. As it stands now, it just codes him as “interested” (invisible variable, and only if bi or likes men).

That would be a pretty easy tweak, perhaps at the beta stage.

And I’m still trying to figure out where to put the “date Crook” option. Perhaps when you talk to him in chapter 3 about the most powerful student.

Keep up the great work! Can’t wait for the new stuff!

This was on the Heroes Rise Facebook page xD

“I just wanted to know if you are the author of a WIP in the forums on choice of games i forget what it was called College for Heroes i think it was a work WIP title and the game was really good its about college heroes before going into superhero mode or anything”

@HornHeadFan

That sounds like it would be a good starting point at this stage of development, as I get the impression that he is slightly arrogant, but nothing that may get himself killed. Yet.

I love the this game but i noticed that even though i clicked prestige university when i talked to mob it said i can order the "speck special’. Also when i left with dirty girl and had to take the bus I got this dialogue:

“I thought you people had like suped up cars or motorcyles or spaceships or stuff?” asks a teenager with bad acne and a stringy goatee.

“No no,” chirps a nearby brunette, never looking away from her phone, “You’re thinkin’ 'bout those in New york. They get all the fancy ones there.” Even though i choose New york

You chose New York, but no matter what you choose you are only accepted to Speck. Thats how applying for collage works in reality. Not all of them will accept you. Especially the prestigious ones like Prestige.

@Anon

*Facepalm
You’re choosing where you WANT to go not where you are going. The page you’re referring to says
"You’ve been accepted to the brand new “Heroes Among Us” program at Speck Community College (SCC), in Speck, Nebraska . . . Those who excel may be allowed to transfer to more traditional four-year hero degree programs like Prestige University for Heroes in New York or Savior School in San Francisco. "

@Gobble ok so which school did you go to?..

I’m JK had to try to make you flip out a little lol

I laughed way too hard xD

Okay, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I am only half finished with Chapter 5. The good news is that I want to post what I have because I’ve added a decent amount of content.

So here’s the updated story. I can’t promise there are no game-ending errors because randomtest runs and runs and runs showing no errors but then it freezes up, so I’m not sure what that means.

I am going to take a day or two off from writing more content and let everyone read the update, so I can focus on fixing typos, continuity errors, etc. When you get to (under construction), that is the end for now.

Yay!

Found a typo in chapter 5:
“city of Speak”

I laughed like a donkey at this :slight_smile:
“Right now he’s managed to get on all fours in what appears to be a yoga position gone horribly wrong.”

“If you have a plan or something, just tell me. Or don’t. It’s no big deal.”
I love stoic xD she’s so mellow.

“After a few embarrassing seconds of his fingertips hovering six inches over his boots, he switches to jumping jacks.”
Omg xDDD I have to massage my cheeks from smiling so much every time I read your story.

But yeah, I really liked this update. This is definitely the one I’m looking forward to most!

Will the Diabolical Dozen ever offer an invitation to the MC? Not as one of the leaders, but as a powered criminal who would carry out certain jobs for the Dozen or other members of their organization.

Are we going to get a chance to get to know the armor guy with sits in the back with Crook and DG? He seems like he could be an interesting character to interact with should the opportunity arise.

Is it going to be possible to get secrets without becoming friends with someone and instead just sneak around their apartment and watch them from afar? Possibly hacking their computers? On the topic of hacking, will there ever be a Techie class? someone who is not particularly skilled in combat but brings a very useful gadget set and/or makes their own, unique, gadgets? A tribute to our father with a stink ray would be nice, but I’m thinking of maybe three or four gadgets that a Techie could make themselves instead of getting them from Ms.Tolly, not requiring a good grade to upgrade themselves. Ms.Tolly might still give you gear, but you would also make you own.

Also, I finally made Stoic smile! Hah! She thought she could be a soloist, but I a going to be her friend and there is nothing she can do about it!

In all seriousness though, nice work on the first half of chapter 5.

The dean’s joke is different! Is that a permanent change or does it vary? (They are both beautifully lame :smiley: ). I just love the way you’ve written the dean thus far. It’s hard to take her seriously - but I also sort of feel like the MC would be wiser to pay attention to her. Interesting. (:

I was playing this and just needed to ask: Have you ever considered an in-app purchase that allows you to play as a powered student?

Very nice work on the first half of chapter 5. Keep up the good work!

@Samuel_H_Young, I already forget who was doing the “yoga” position. Was that Wombat or Shine? I’m really glad you liked a few of those scenes.

@God_of _Demonz, without spoiling anything, the Dozen will play a large role in the overall story arc (I envision a trilogy), but as to whether you’ll get a chance to join/infiltrate them, it’s anyone’s guess (including mine!).

If you are in Uni’s group, you’ll get more of an introduction to the guy who sits with Crook and DG, although it is a short scene.

To the “sneaking around” question, yes you’ll get that chance in either chapter 5 or 6. The listening device, polygraph, infrared goggles and even the smoke grenades might all be helpful there!

And yes Stoic is human and I figured if one of her classmates reached out to her, she would finally enjoy herself, at least a little!

@Fiogan, I think you are analyzing Dean Tolly very well. Almost too well! But yes the MC would be wise to listen to her.

@HornHeadFan
That was Wombat :stuck_out_tongue:
