Community College Hero: Knowledge is Power (old WIP thread, now closed)

Yeah, Sadie, green eyes, right?

I think so. Remember she asked us what our favorite school is, so I think that’s the first sign of us having to pick a side

Oh, between the schools, ok. Hasn’t that been around since character creation though? We’re always being asked about the merits of Prestige and Savior, even if it has a stat bar now.

Yeah but we were just asked about how we feel about the schools not if we jump at the chance to join. At first you would think it’s just a story about the low class school versus the elite school, but we might actually get to choose what school we side with.

I can only imagine the consequences that will come with my actions at the Night Of Lawlessness.

I managed to break a car mirror AND injure a civilian?

Captin California is gonna be up my ass.

Don’t worry, Sufer Dudes are usually pretty cool. The worst he can do is not let you take part in the “Zoning” class

Pretty excited for that, what’s with the whole Crook’s part in Origami’s funeral

Thoughts on our new cast member Quickie? ??

He’s a bit obnoxious at the moment, but not unsalvage-ably so. But that’s why he’s in school, right?

Where’s “I think he’s the Wyvern in disguise”? (I mean, I’ve accused just about everyone else, I’m bound to be right about one of them…) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

i find him annoying, but won’t mind him popping up some more.

even stoic makes sarcastic comments when the guy’s talking.

all in an attempt to make sure everyone’s too busy to be looking at you huh?
you know, i don’t think i’ve ever seen ParrotWatcher and Wyvern in the same room at the same time. :open_mouth:

MC would tap that.

I found him annoying,but I really didn’t mind him that much…

…until his stupidity potentially got us ANOTHER lawsuit. It was at that point in time,I said “Fuck you Quickie.”

It’s not that I didn’t like him. I just didn’t care when he crashed against Stoic.

Sal-U-Tations Eric, hope all is going well and excellent work with the newest update.

With all of that aside, I do have something of an odd question for you, but how Divergent is Speck-Earth compared to our Earth?

Can we, take the genera acceptance of LGBT relations and representation as a suggestion that Speck-Earth, or at least the US of A, has a “greater” (The quotation marks are there, just in case the Westboro church guys are still around.) tolerance to such ideas, like perhaps the survival of a celebrity in their world that wasn’t in ours…
Or should we assume that the public’s targets have change instead, given that I feel that the American population would not take too kindly to being told to stay in a shield city and never leave…But live, or not be allowed in said cities and die.

Was American Russian relations far worse in this world? Given that the US Gov considered untested Radioactive shields a real asset to fund to protect the American people.

Most importantly though, Was there any form of Golden Age of “Comic Superheroes” ( I mean the idealisation of a Superman.) in the Zenith / Community / Speck Verse.

Because it seems so interesting and odd, that the Government has effectively integrated Zenith individuals into a Law enforcement type role and position in Society (Not entirely so, of course, or groups like the Dozen would not exist, but a key thought to keep in mind is that this level of integration is still worlds beyond what the US Gov is able to do for some of its most unfortunate citizens in the real world, considering the ever present problems of poverty and drugs within the US, and that’s a USA that doesn’t have to deal with people who effectively break the whole " All men are created equal" deal, and Super Villains.) when the phenomenon is (as far was we know.) limited to America, and then narrowed down further by chance of being with in a Zenith Shielded City, and being exposed to the radiation of said shield early in development.

And following the “Rise” of Zenith heroes and villains, has anyone taken a proactive stance against Zeniths gaining political power and Government positions.
I would certainly not want the president to be a perception or mind controller after all.

Not to say that I wouldn’t want a Fire Prof Fireman, or a Doctor who could heal others with a touch…Just that I feel most any sane individual would want a separation of powers…Even if that’s literal in this case.

Excellent questions! I’m running off to work in sec, so I can’t get into the weeds on these issues, but the short answer is…

I don’t know. But earlier in the year I started an official pitch to CoG for a CCH “prequel,” set in the late 1990s, with the main character as a lawyer who witnesses the dawn of Zenith heroes and starts a law practice targeted at representing Zeniths and those affected by the inevitable conflicts with villains. That sort of story would answer some, but probably not all, of your “Speckverse” background questions you’re asking. However, I had to put it on the back-burner while working on Part 2.

Actually, Zeniths kind of remind me of movies like Rambo or something. Y’know, people who were turned into weapons of war and now the government doesn’t have a clue what to do with them because there is no war. So Zeniths roam around in the world, some turned heroes, other turned villains, but no one knows what to do with them.

Well, if it was only that Hedonist is sleeping with some students, then that’s pretty sleazy. But when he is coercing his students to have sex with him promising better grades for it, then that is sexual abuse. So i can feel only disgust for him, no matter how good he looks. And he certainly isn’t big on inteligence too, if he really thought that his actions were building a better connection and equal grounds with his students (as he tries to explain)(and stupidity is not an excuse for sexual abuse).

I hope that we finally get the explanation in part 2, why the MC do not have an option to really go against him and treat the topic of sexual abuse with seriousness it deserves. I still think that it may have something to do with Spiked Gladiator’s powers :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t believe the chilly reception Quickie is receiving! What is it?

His bald head/swimmer’s goggles combo?

His inferiority complex?

His whining?

His complaining?

His brutal honesty about the Specktacular Seven? (or other team names)

Poor Friendzone won’t have a chance. And wait until Dr. Hover actually gets a few lines. (Or maybe I’ll just have him getting repeatedly attacked as a plot device)
