Working hard this morning (on legal stuff, not CCH), but wanted to respond to a few things quickly…
@MockTurtle, I waffled about writing the four different pep talks, but I thought it was the perfect time to use a “persona check” in that it would give some flavor without really affecting the plot in any way.
And yes there are four different pep talks. I’m not sure why you couldn’t do brooder, unless I screwed up the coding…the coding is supposed to run checks at >80 in any given persona first, and then if none of those triggers a “hit,” it runs checks for >60. I haven’t recorded the number of persona checks in Part 2 yet though, so it’s possible I set those numbers at the wrong check values, but that can always be tweaked.
The thing is that I had to use an order, for for >80, it checks traditional first, and then I forget the order of the other 3. So basically if someone has 82% in brooder an 81% in traditional, the check will send you to the traditional pep talk.
I think it’s time for a poll! I’m leaning that polls can give me great, focused feedback on a particular issue.
@Urban, and Bbth is another classmate, who much like Dr. Hover, was never mentioned in Part 1 (as Dirty Girl points out in a comment designed to somewhat break the 4th wall). Either that, or Bbth is a typo.
Oh by the way,
“Shirtless, his tensed biceps and broad pectorals rival any artist’s preferred depiction of the perfect male form.”
Why does this line exist?..
If you choose
“No words are needed. I just stand up straight and curl my finger in a “come here” motion.”
It boost the tradicionalist stat instead of the brooder.
Well the poll results make me feel MUCH better about taking the time to write four different pep talks. It looks as though there’s a nice spread among the personas, and that pretty much everyone felt the pep talk they accessed was consistent with the character they created.
This encourages me to write some more persona-based “flavor scenes” that won’t affect the plot and won’t limit choices, but that will hopefully create a more immersive RP experience.
My PC: Don’t touch me! Never touch me! I don’t care if i’m of age. Stay away from me!
Don’t get me wrong, Eric does a good job of writing him but if given the choice, I would prefer a rather incompetent teacher compared to a predator-ish one.
Wyvern will be on the cover of Issue 5! I had to give him some love since his creator was so generous! (that cover is pretty much finished but I’m keeping it hidden until release)
And my wife would like a shirtless Mob…I think she likes the whole visual of guys with the ‘v’ thing going on in the ab area.
-looks at abs- I don’t have a ‘v’’ It’s more like a big fat U
And my goal now is to make the Manipulator more hated than the Hedonist by the end of Part 2 (if she’s not already)
