Considering recent events I doubt many people would wish to join; though I can definetly imagine my MC as a mentor of sorts
I’m guessing it’s gonna be the latter.
Some crazy woman bombs the place, killing a hero in the progress and thensome dragon fuck shows along and puts the entire town on edge. You think any Zenith would want to join this school in its current state, let alone a non powered hero?
Yo dog I’m just saying, if the D12 gain the power to summon Bahamut then I’m officially joining their side.
It was already stated in the story that we only have time for one route. If u choose the Zenith route you only have time to spend on,getting, making it stronger, main story events, side plots, understanding, learning control, and catching up to the other Zeniths who have way more experience with using their powers than u do.Just like the MC said at the end of book 1.Going after more than one route at a time is a fool’s arrend. Plus it would just make an alternate tactician route.
Gonna need more specifics
That’s the thing tho, we are not Batman and that’s a great thing. This a completely different character and isn’t bound by the same rules. It’s not deux ex machina because it actually makes sense and u would still have to work hard to improve yourself. I’m not trying to hate on a great idea, but it feels like a lot of people just want this power mainly for poetic justice or comedy and not really for the fun perks of being a super powered character. Just because u use powers doesn’t make u any less of a hero than those that don’t
I think I rather see the MC get some weird lame power like enhanced sense of smell. I can already hear my MC yelling at Hijinx for a whoopie cushion that smelled like rotten eggs.
You want to be named: Blood Hound?
That actually would work really well with the whole Dr Stench lineage …
But, on the off-side, as fun as a silly power would be, whatever power you get kind of needs to be combat useful, otherwise the other routes would just be strictly better. Like, other nontraditional powers could make for an interesting “struggle to be useful” thing but within the story, the thrust of the self-improvement paths is to make the MC more useful during a fight, and if the Zenith power doesn’t do that it could just make it feel like a worse option compared to the other two.
Agreed! Same deal with the whole ‘changing the status quo’ thing mentioned above. The other two routes will be sizable changes to the way our group operates, while us gaining a power that we can’t actually use in combat won’t change much.
Yeah sacrificing efficiency for originality is never a good trade off
I think what one of the earlier commenter mentioned about how the MC should have some sort of limitation would be pretty cool, and as he/she said the kind of limitation and side effects of Rogue’s powers would make for some intresting and maybe even hilarious consequences as there will be players who are romancing some characters and having the MC nulifiy the romance option’s powers during intimate moments and than needing said powers would be very intresting. Or at least something like that.
I feel like using the captainpowerless route would be too easy and the easiest way to beat the game. Electric is more generic but still my favorite out the three suggestions. Not that I have a problem with the super soldier one but then it sounds like freaks among us game where you are First.
Nullifier doesn’t have to be too easy–I think a pretty good way to nerf it and develop it could be that instead of just cancelling out powers, it just weakens them, knocks them down a grade or two or something. So you try it on Tress and now she can’t do anything, because her power was already weak to begin with, but then try it on Captain California or Hedonist and they’re still pretty much in good fighting condition since they have a lot of power anyway. And then the getting better at using it just means it can take out more and more of a power until by the end, maybe you can’t completely take out the D12’s powersets, but you can lower them enough that you and your team could have a fighting chance against them, which I assume could be about on par with however much stronger you and your team will get with the Dr Stench or Tactician upgrades
But that’s what erks me. The zenith route is not on par with the other routes if you can’t take out the enemy at their best with it while the other routes can
That’s a really good point that I hadn’t really considered …
I still think nullifier is the best power option that’s been discussed (Captain Powerless being foreshadowing would be boss I think), but I see what you’re saying and I’m not sure what a good solution would be
I really like the nullifier option, because it seems somewhat thematic - the other two options are about bringing yourself up to “their level”, while this would be trying to bring them “down” to yours. But I mean, maybe you have to get REALLY close? There’s a lot of room to not be able to get into range, maybe.
BONUS SCENE: Nullifying Stoic’s forcefield through the power of hugs!
This is exactly the type of scene I don’t want to see. The one true friend I’ve made with her just opening up to me and I try to destroy her confidence in herself by taking away a core element of who she is.
No thank you.
I dunno, I think that could work for an intimate moment. Post didn’t say she didn’t say you could, and what with her force field I wonder how long it’s been since she had actual skin to skin contact? If you get emotionally close to her and she’s says it’s okay I think it could make for a really sweet scene
If done right it definitely could
Yeah, having it as the culmination of a Stoic romance/friendship arc was definitely my intent, sorry.
Umm i just wanted to say i noticed in the choices for where DG in “Hook or a Crook” you only have to choices where she both ended up in jail. But you can help her and oragomi get away and even flirt with her in that moment before you all escape.
