Ya, well … I won’t go there. @Eric_Moser knows my feelings about a certain sequence of events and that is enough.
I can’t help but feel how fitting for it to be for the MC to have nullified powers.
Maybe they thought the blank spot should be:
Or they don’t like other options?
But I’m completely behind nullifying the Hedonist’s powers. Just to damn kick him where it hurts slap him…
I was replaying community College Hero 1, and there was a choice if you didn’t become leader of Speck 7, you could plan to become the ultimate tactician and take leadership from Tress. Just wondering if that would be happening in CCH2? Also could we possibly have interactions with the police?
Gotta admit, the Zentih Nullifier power is pure genius.
Also,I think I found a way of how Whoosh and Pow could be worked into it.
Whoosh could be how quick you use your power to disable other people’s powers.
Pow could be the intensity.A low Pow would take out only the minor powers or a small part of a major power.A very high Pow would be able to just shut down all the powers of the target.
There’s also the angle that it’s actually possible to properly use one’s Whoosh and Pow, once the powers normally at play have been disabled…
Isn’t the entire punching bag idea kind of pointless? It’s not like we don’t already have Mob and Stoic.
Okay, since this is my first comment on this thread i’ve got to take the time to say; wow. Seriously, I love the powerless hero/college hero take on the superhero genre and the game is a blast to play, it’s one of my favourites. @Eric_Moser, thank you so much for taking the time to write this.
Coming back to where the thread is at right now, I’m in love with the power nullifier idea; as others have said, it fits so perfectly with the ‘captain powerless’ theme of the game, while still allowing the character to be a Zenith if they so choose. Depending on exactly how the power worked, I think it could definitely be directly linked to pow and whoosh; not even just in terms of the stats effecting your power but in actually how you use it.
For whoosh, for example, assuming you had to touch someone in order to effect their powers, wouldn’t whoosh be a huge asset? You could reach the person you wanted to nullify much faster, allowing you to be much more efficient, maybe effecting more people or ensuring that your opponent spends more of the fight with their powers diminished.
And as for pow, what if how ‘nullified’ your opponent’s powers were was proportional to how much you managed to hurt or incapacitate them? Maybe the more physical force you imparted on someone the more their powers were effected, or the more difficult you made it for your opponent to fight, the more their powers diminished, with the difference being proportional to your own powers of course. Whoosh would probably help here too. This could be difficult for fighting characters like Hedonist or Stoic though…
And I imagine it would be way harder to code.
Alternatively, pow could also be an asset for the ‘touch to nullify’ mechanic, allowing you to fight past more minor obstacles to reach whoever you to want to depower. Plus, once you’re up close and personal to someone to depower them, you might as well get straight into fighting them while you’re there. And I assume punching would count as touching?
The nullifer power reminds me of eraserhead from my hero academia
You and me both pal.You and me both…
Only thing I’m really intrested in would be that we can finally use that power to mess with the Hedonist(sorry for the bad spelling if there is any) cause the man’s a dick.
Well that sucks looks like Zenith nullifer won well dang it.
What powers did you want? The second placed? Then it theoretically still could win.
Eric will eventually chose the power that is easiest to write. (I suspect electricity will be extremely easy to adapt to his mechanics) - Null power is great in theory but I have a feeling balancing it to be a challenge.
Force-fields or super strength, personally. I just really wanted to turn my detective into Jessica Jones and throw people around
Of the power sets in the poll, I’d pick electricity. Just because it’s cool.
Where the heck did the poll go???
Did it disappear?? It was on post 2326
Hedonist “made it disappear” when he heard rumor of what we wanted to do with the null-power.
Who was winning still? The “nullifier” one? That’s crazy that the poll just vanished.
The nullifier was way ahead last I saw, so unless something changed drastically I think that one won
Nulifier followed by electricity - the weird power was the invisible choice. Not sure why people chose that one.
