Community College Hero (for all post-release feedback)

That guide, I’m using that guide. When/if he sends you the guide, could you PM it to me?

I believe her secret is the reason for her behaviour, completely neutral and emotionless to prevent any giveaways. Must be a pretty serious secret.

@HornHeadFan bloody hell perfect grades and awards? I’ve attempted this several times with little success, so I want to see this guide too. How would the awards from the profs have negative impact on our chance as leader? Since this information was in confidential and the notes from Downfall and Nil were given completely unnoticed I’m confused how the other students would catch wind of this.

I don’t mind Speck is crappy, in fact I’ve embraced it because it’s brought all the misfits together and when they all take down the Diabolical Dozen Mega [word removed] can eat his heart out. I’m betting that everybody looks up to Mega Cat but in person he’s most likely a idealistic jerk who looks down on anyone who isn’t an equal power grade.
Booksmart worries me also, at first I thought she was pretty fair and open but as soon as Surfer Dave (Captain California) talked about how the secrets were going to be stored into a computer interface SHE designed, I’m starting to think she’s paranoid and collects this knowledge as insurance against her students and staff.
Streetsmart still sounds like a smartass.

I think I mentioned this before but I do hope we do expand on the secrets we find out. I can see D.G nearly killing herself from unintentional overdosage in a future part and we have to sort the mess out and possibly confronting the dealer with red contact lenses, Crook having family problems because of his time commitment to Speck and the Contrarian vendetta, and Tress trying to fully recover from her public humiliation and getting the blackmail from Rycliff. of course some of the student’s secrets were minorities but a select few are serious issues and open up great side stories if our relationships with them are high enough. Some will be stubborn to admit they need help while others would find having somebody supporting them a relief.

I think sometimes the favour of the professors is won at the cost of student relationship points, and you have to be popular with the professors to receive the rewards in the first place. The first example that comes to mind is laughing at Mob when Hedonist makes him uncomfortable - to earn points with the Hedonist, you have to laugh, but it loses you points with Mob.. I know there are other similar situations.

Yeah I’m pretty sure Uni didn’t find it amusing as Downfall did when I falcon punched the air out of her lungs. Fair point.

I did one playthrough with all rewards, 4.0 GPA in both terms and as a leader of the group.

okay something which has really got me thinking in my current playthrough.

regarding the showdown with Downfall, anybody can acknowledge that her power is mimicry (that could make her on par with grade 10s if you think about it.) she copied stunner and Tress’ abilities and used them with much more effiency, but the green knockout gas? I came up with a theories here:

Dirty Girl’s power can do more than she is capable of at the moment, maybe when she has more practice she can conjure different types of gases in addition to her fog, knockout gas, poison, nerve gas etc.

if somebody has already named this theory then you beat me to it.

Thank you for the responses. I think i understand it more now, we do got something similar here too. I thought that “community college” is more somthing like some particular kind of public college (but i didn’t knew why it would be conisdered worse then)

Well, i don’t know how bad teachers are at the similar kind of schools in Poland  I was studying in rather average rated college.

As for Speck i figured that zenith people, while many of them, still appoint to only small part of population. So basically any powered person is already in a way “elite”, even if their powers are low grade ones, they are still much more powerfull than average human. With only 3 schools for zenith existing and amount of potential students, i thought that competition to get there wouldn’t be easy. So my conclusion was that, because it have students that are much more powerfull than any student in any “normal” school, so Speck basically have 3rd most powerfull students from all the schools and training grounds in the country. Which made them quite elitist/prestiguous
The small amount of students and sharing their grounds with normal Speck college i attributed to it being whole a pet project of dean Tolly. That she financed and organized it all from her own pocket privately, and hoped it will quickly raise to be more established school. But given her limited resources and contacts it all seemed to be crappy and duct taped together so far. Just i hadn’t thought that the interest among zenith population to be teachers or pass on their knowledge would be so little to not leave anyone enough after filling in Savior and Prestige. That will leave only people so crappy as what Speck ended up with, to be teachers.

Also i red the description of Spiked Gladiator and his speech based powers. Does Hedonist have similar ability like him? It would make so much sense! The scene with personal evaluation with Hedonist when he harass you and you got only option to accept it or “graciously” reject it seems like literall description of Gladiator’s powers! That even if you disagree, you do it in most pleasant way possible. Is that why MC don’t get the option to get angry at him? It would also fit the “glamour effect” suspected by @druidquest with students more perceptive to like what he is saying. Hmm… maybe even that would be the reason why Savior decided to make him a teacher, giving his abilities they decided to use them and overlook his mental problems (which is still messed up from their part, but made kind of ruthless sense). Although if that’s the case, then we are getting dangerously close to his harassment being actuall rape (use of mind impairing agents), depending to what degree those powers would actually work.
If Hedonist does have that kind of ability, is he then related to Spiked Gladiator somehow?
That theory could be even stretched to why MC brush the sexuall harassment off so casually and haven’t done any much to oppose him for so long. If the hero was somehow mind altered to not be that angry about it.
Although if all that would be the case, then i think it should be explained in the game in every playthrough (or am i just somehow missed it earlier?), because right now it all at first sight still really looks like @HornHeadFan hadn’t thought that Hedonist’s sexual harasment is serious enough to warrant more stern response from player, to include that option.

Right! And the way she gathered all the secrets from Speck students, no if matter they wanted to give them or not.
I’s almost like every organization around, Savior, Prestige, Dozen, all are to some degree villains.
And at the end we will se MC with their bunch of matured school friends standing in the ashes of all their enemies and starting a first real hero school

Hehe, first thought reading it i had was “If she is a mimic, i wonder if Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in power armours would defeat her”
As for her using different abilities, many students leaving the exam talk about how they “haven’t thought they could do that”, from their descriptions it looks that she can use any close zenith power to the full extent, in many student’s cases vastly exceeding what they can do now. So the knockout gas is probably for sure a possible DG’s ability.

It also adds to how poor teacher she is, that she haven’t used her ability to actually teach others how they can use their abilities.

And you’re right, that basically means that she is grade 10 zenith. Unless of course there are some limitations we don’t know at this point.

I think Downfall is a limited Grade 10 since her power relies on who she is facing against. So she’s sort of a stalemate when it comes to fighting a villain who has full control of their power, since Downfall has took out all of the students because they didn’t have full extent like she did. Therefore, she’s extremely difficult to defeat even for somebody like Lady Ash or Mega Cat.

So if Savior and Prestige are corrupt as we think they are, I bet in part 3 there’s gonna be a three way hero war between Savior, Prestige and Dozen and Speck are gonna be trapped in the middle. But thanks to the display from Downfall, I bet my money our speck friends are gonna be more powerful as they go along and with the possible chance that our power develops too Speck will definitely have a fighting chance.

In short, part 3 might be very action packed!

@Nathan_Faxon
Bring back the Nuclear threat!
Raise the Zenith Shields once more!
Also @HornHeadFan are powers hereditary (not exactly the powers will he passed on, but at the very least children of Zeniths can be Zeniths themselves) or just the generations born under the Zenith Shields have powers?

Hey are you writing this story or am I??? :grinning:

I’d like to know as well. I assume there’s a large amount of flirting.

This is what I was thinking as well. Sometimes to appease the profs, you have to upset some students. You lose a DG + modifier by being “nerdy” in class. Also, Origami doesn’t like it if you tell Downfall you’ll hurt other students. There are other examples as well (I believe). I want to try to do more of this in Part 2, where the MC will sometimes have to upset one person if the MC sides with someone else. There should always be a trade-off for appeasing a NPC (which I realized 2/3 of the way through Part 1).

Do you want a guide with at least 3.0 GPA or do you want 4.0? Because the latter is more restrict.

With 4.0:

Choose Detective and Bisexual.
Do not investigate the crime scene. You will lose points with McCormick.
Do not choose the charming option with Tress, and when you are going to introduced yourself do not choose the charming option.
Warn Stoic about Stunner.
When Tress ask you to a dinner, you need to choose the first or the second option or the one that says you will bring wine.
Choose to play “I’ve Never”.
In the first HELL class, answer the question (“I dont need to purchase…”).
Have a lunch with Mob and ask him about his power in a friendly or flirt way.
In the first Breaking class, choose to use your surrouding and to punch Mob in the stomach.
When you go to the rave with DG, stay with her and choose to heat up the dance floor.
In the first Defense class, choose that defending people is more important.
In the first Secrets class, choose to look at Stoic.
When Tress and Crook start discussing what to do about Contrarian, side with Crook.
Invite Combat Wombat to your study group.
Choose to study HELL and Secrets, and when studying Secrets warn Combat Wombat.
Laugh at Mob.
Rise your hand when Downfall ask if you are willingly to hurt your friends.
Do not step foward when Nil ask if you are willingly to lie to your friends.
HELL test answer: B-C-D-A-A
Breaking test: defeat Uni by tricking her, kick the clown girl, lead Combat Wombat to a trap and tie Stoic.
Secret test: promise Nil three secrets.
Defense test: get your hands on Hedonist and do anything for an A.
At the meeting of Crook’s group, kiss DG.
In the second HELL class, concentrate on your studies.
Sit with Crook’s group.
In the second Breaking class, choose Stoic as your partner and involved her in the plan.
Spend time with DG alone or at the party.
At the church, warn DG and Origami, do not split up and use your listen device.
When Tolly annouce Speck is moving to a farm, come back early and choose the professor’s van.
Study Secrets (and choose the option to learn Stunner’s secret) and HELL.
In the third HELL class, ask the long question.
At the Defense/Breaking class, arise your hand when Hedonist ask if you will do anything to protect him.
Do not ask Nil about the prize.
When Crook demands answer from McCormick, either stay silent or tell him to back off.
Choose Stunner’s group and ask Stoic what she have on her mind.
Second Hell test: A-B-C-C-B
Breaking/Defense test: rise your hand to go first, help Triss and Stunner, hang back and analyze Downfall, help DG unite Hedonist.
Secrets test: boo Captain California and agree to put the helmet.
Say HELL has been fascinating.
Try to convince Tolly to not fire Downfall.
At the end choose to step foward and be a candidate to become the leader. DG, Combat Wombat and Stoic will vote for you.

You are an (evil?) genius.

Hmmmm wonder if there will be an evil genius type chara? not to pry just planting seeds Muahahahahaa Cough cough

Sure there are powerhouses but what of those spine tingling evils you noticed but don’t notice. A lurker that seems helpful but gives you these horrible feelings. Oooo the evil hero psychologist/grief counsilor! “How are you doing today? I heard you’ve had a rough few months, tell me all about it.” (therapists are creepy ingeneral)

Shouldn’t hero mental health be an issue? I mean some one is bound to snap under the pressure once in a while and young adults are pretty vulnerable, not too mention with all the stress the MC is going to be under. And if he/she/they get abilities what effect will that have on their psyche, then there are the prospects of side-effects or general

i’m fairly positive there’s already an unassuming person who’s secretly pulling some strings.

rycliff getting a message from the contrarian mailed only to him, him then proceeding to poison public opinion and the contrarian then commenting on rycliff as “being the only sane person in speck”.

something smells off. puts on tinfoil hat

I’m just analysing the politics, ruthless superhero school politics is just asking for a war  Plus all three parties (Dozen, Savior, Prestige.) want Speck because like Surfer Dave said, it’s directly in the middle of the two schools and would give a huge advantage to expanding whether they want to merge with Speck or turn it into a second school of their respective sides. As for the Dozen it’s for the same reason but different motive, it’s in the middle so they could assault both schools simultaneously or if either school takes the land the Dozen will be at a disadvantage, maybe their lair is closeby Speck? This is a speculation for now.

Back on Downfall’s part, is she on any side at the moment? Near the beginning it’s mentioned it’s unknown if she attended prestige and she wasn’t close knit to Nil who was sent by Mega Cat. She was kicked out because of her particularly brutal teaching methods rather than Savior ganging up on her (although there’s no solid evidence to support or deny this yet.) so I’m wondering whose side she will be one when push comes to shove and the neutrals have to pick a side.

I have to say, this is my favourite text game ever, and my fav character is tress.

Now for my questions, can you learn more about tresses past, and why she took those photos, and can we destroy the fool who leaked the photos.

If there’s no info or her past, I think that she was sexually abused by someone, and that the forced her into handcuffs and took nudes of her, the person may have been family or a boyfriend, and that to make her submit they drugged her but after awhile she ran away, that’s why she became a hero, to stop others from being harmed, this would explain why she gets weird at the handcuff questions and gets so depressed about the photos.

That was… dark as hell :joy:

They were artistic nude photos and there was no handcuffs or forcefulness mentioned so she must of volunteered. If it was traumatizing for her she wouldn’t keep them, she would want to destroy any evidence of it ever happening. Plus she mentions she wore nothing but her mask in them, indicating she was already a hero at the time.
