That’s a great cover, I love the light reflection with the heroes’ faces in contrast with the darker lighting in the rest of the image.
Saving Origami was something i’ve been wanting since book one
With everything that happened it would be cool to see her reaction to certain characters who died/got depowered. Along with her general relationship with the MC
Helping the Hedonist because he can potentially help the MC steal info from the schools. Also because I like to annoy him wit one of my MCs he has interesting dialogue. Defiantly one of the more fleshed out professors next to McCormick, excluding all the secrets and stuff. I still have screenshots of book 2’s demo, rip
He doesn’t have a big role overall but he affects the little things like how the Smarts react to his death and whatnot.
And marrying my SO because I’m a sap.
My main focuses but i’d also like to dig up information and help everybody out if possible
gotta give helping my favs my vote though
Is training with Downfall still in consideration, because that is what I would adore. More Downfall=Happy Jake
Other than that, save Origami of course. Baby sis needs help, Aphrodite is on her way, her Hmm is through the roof and her detective gear is maxed out. She will figure something out.
And Setting up the Manipulator of course (so long as I can set up the Dozen to go down afterwards). Manipulator went after baby sis, she has to die for that alone, but the Dozen are too dangerous to allow them to remain active. Add Booksmart to that list too, the take-over-the-world vibe is far too strong with her for my liking. I don’t know enough about Megacat to say for sure, but possibly him. I basically want my tactician character to outplay everyone in the end.
Also, if working with Downfall isn’t an option, marry the RO because I am sappy af.
Bringing it back to the the beginning for the end nice call for this one
PART of it. Oh boy that’s gonna be one hell of a fight
My top 3 choices for my MC are, 1. To save Origami, because she was so sweet and I feel like my MC wants a chance to bring her back because she feels like it was slightly her fault in a way what happened to her, plus it hurts even more when you learn her secret. 2. End up or potentially marrying your RO, because I’m a sucker for romance and romantic goals, that’s it. 3. Keep leadership, the reason being, my MC worked really hard to prove themselves worthy despite their restrictions and feels like she earned it in the end and wants the team the best it can be. Honorable mention, Find out Dean Tolly’s true motivations, I mean I’m really curious what her motives are and because I love her character, but I’m slightly okay with leaving that a mystery, at least for the first playthrough
Quick question: could my MC decide to share leadership? He’s a silent/sarcastic/facetious tactician who would prefer not to be the face of the group.
Are you going to keep it grayscale or will it be colorized?
I really like the art either way.
A few quick responses (I’m at work must keep it brief)
@Eiwynn, yeah I’ll probably keep it grayscale; IMO it looks more ominous than the colored versions. And congrats on becoming a mod! I see you being firm but fair
@Jacob_Tebbe, Hmm…yes I might need to work Downfall in as a secondary goal, seeing as how she’s never really had to pay for breaking Tress’s arm, tossing Synergy in unprepared against the villain holograms, etc.
@RedKnight, That’s probably my favorite detail as well! And I never asked Karl to do that; he just came up with it out of nowhere.
To people asking specific questions about ROs, the tough part about going into more details with them is that this late in the game, I feel like you’re probably in “ride or die” mode with them now, after all you’ve been through. There won’t be enough space/time to let MC romance a new person, but I guess I could maybe let MC dump their RO, to give them more space/time to pursue other “secondary goals”
To people asking about Zenith path, yes your power will be set for you (by me) for reasons I have went into a few times recently. Basically: 1) it would be really tough to code power options, 2) giving Zenith power options would make it the “best” path, which unbalances the whole game, and 3) I wanted the nature of MC’s power to explain why it was latent for so long.
And yes I see people’s point about the “4 Robins” although that thought never crossed my mind before. I basically thought of them as Batman (Detective), Green Arrow (Sharpshooter), Daredevil (Acrobat), and Captain America (Soldier)
I love the wide spread in the poll results! When no option got less than 8%, or more than 68%, that results in a pretty nice spread! And I’ll likely swap out a couple of the lower options for potentially more popular ones. (Like I might replace “reveal MegaCat’s identity” with “get revenge on Downfall.”)
Okay, looking back, this was NOT brief.
Short Version, I have no desire for revenge, please let Downfall be my Tactician MC’s mentor.
Long version, (AKA why I love Downfall verse 2), Downfall might be gruff and brutal, but as I’ve said, she’s the only one giving us the reality of what superheroing is like. She broke Tress’s arm to demonstrate what will happen in a real situation where you have to decide whether to prioritize a civilian or your teammates and that such choices have consequences, and we were thrust into that exact situation almost immediately afterward. She threw Synergy into that simulator on his own because pacifists, by and large, die when charging into battle. There’s a reason you won’t find any pacifists in the SEAL teams or Combat Applications Group, its better for that to be demonstrated painfully in a simulation than lethally in real life. Synergy demonstrated he is an exception to this rule, and thus earned a grudging acquiescence from Downfall. I get why people might not like her, but I seriously think that she’s the only one looking out for our well-being. BUD/S and SFAS instructors can be cruel bastards in training too, because they’d rather have you hate them and wash out than have you die on a battlefield if you’re unfit for duty. Cruelty in training saves lives in the field.
My apologies if this was answered earlier in the thread before I had started reading it, but will ROs and characters from the first game that departed for the second game return for the third?
The idea of only being able to finish up some of the side-stories each run is very interesting to me, and rescuing origami is certainly one I would do in my first run through!
From what I understand:
- Uni has been requested but probably won’t be back
- Origami is coming back, but you have to pursue saving her to do so
- I’m not sure about Stunner. I don’t recall Eric mentioning bringing him back, but I assume he will be part of whatever Prestige storyline
- Combat Wombat isn’t coming back (except perhaps as a cameo? I can’t remember for sure)
- Hedonist is on the poll. Those that want to see him again should vote for him.
If I’m wrong, feel free to correct me.
No, Uni!
Thanks for the response! At least Origami will probably be saved! That moment really hurt when playing the first game.
I also think some revenge plot against Downfall is unnecessary. Like Jacob said she’s a hard ass but for good reason. I just hope it’s optional if you write it in because I’m more interested in the other things.
im posting this to solidify my reasoning as to why we should get the chance to help hedonist
was going to draw this myself but my bff drew me for me before i got the chance to do it myself
based off of this video tht i cant find on youtube but here’s a reddit link thanks to google
if anything i just want more options to insult him/argue or general interactions he has a hmm of 3 he’s stupid i love the dumb flowery language it’s hilarious
Why are there silhouettes of Stoic, Dirty Girl, Tress, Synergy and Crook on the blade. Are they gonna die
Yes, probably.
Am I the only one that thinks the MC should “borrow” that katana, just saying what’s better an electric stick or a sword made of alien metal that can cut through cars like they are made of paper.
Wasn’t Shizukani’s power something like super speed, or something that makes it pretty hard to even attempt to take it?
If he sleeps, my 10 shush PC gonna take his shot at getting that sword
