Community College Hero 3: All Things End (Poll on Post #1248 re: romantic short stories)

Why is Downfall a grade 9? Lol Tbh to me she’s grade 10 material

To you yeah.
But she’s grade nine because like the MC, her power only work on foes with Zeniths Power. And despite her strength comparable to Low Life or if you exaggerate it enough, maybe it’s comparable to M-X without using her power. But she can’t fight an army of Non-Zeniths which is how you going up your Grade.
Overall, she amazing against Zeniths who heavily rely on their power but she will still have problem if pitted against M-X or even Low Life because like her, they’re already strong without their power. But without any power to steal, she’ll have only her skills and strength.
So i would say, she being Grade-9 is perfect. I’m not hating, just clarifying.

Also, Lady Ash is grade-10 since her power have effects on bigger scale and she could just melt an entire army, Zenith or not. But if you say Downfall can beat Lady Ash head on then it would actually believable. But like i said, “head-on”, no Zeniths like her is dumb enough to let themselves fight Downfall in a 1v1.
Which doesn’t make her a coward or weaker. If you say so then Downfall is also a coward for stealing others power, MC being coward for messing up others power and/or exploiting weaknesses.
Lots of people mistaking fighting “head on” as two people throw everything they have at each other without using tricks. Using tactics in a fight isn’t cheating or being a coward, if the opponent can’t counter it or don’t realize it then it’s their fault, and also show that atleast one in the two knows how to use their brain.
Again, I’m not hating Downfall, she’s actually one of my favorite despite her ruthlessness. Feel free to correct me.

REMINDER TO EVERYONE VIEWING:
Let’s all agree on not saying “I called it”,ect… After book 3 is out. Even if you do, why does it matter? What does it prove? You’re not getting smarter or getting more friends (if you have any in the first place).
So if anyone say it, even if they called it or not, they’ll be the one not paying attention or being an attention seeker, no one cares, if they do, it’ll just be something like this.
So, be a better person and restrain yourself for once. Thank you!

I won’t say “called it”, but I will ugly cry and post incoherent tangents when Crook/the traitor/etc. let us down or betray us.

Are we supposed to hate whoever will betray us or something? Betrayal is the worst i know, even if there is a good reason for it.
But like i said there is always a reason for it and if Crook really is the traitor, his motivation would likely be saving Origami. And can you blame him? He lost his daughter but have a slight chance of bringing her back. People wouldn’t be suprise if he’s the traitor so he may as well be, with people opinions on him like that, why should he care about hurting you? Back to the characters, he’s in a team, sure, but no one really get along, worse, the members openly hating each other. He openly admitted being here for his own agenda, he obviously threw away his morals long ago, so why would he care?
Again, he’s doing this for his own good but not because he can, but because he sees no other options. Can people give him a break? Give him a chance.
But let’s not jump into conclusions.

I wish there was specifics on her range tho as it would help.

People agreed to not do it bc it’s annoying and often a spam material.

You speak as though crook is the most hated character, while imo probably tress

Again, you speak as though crook is the real traitor, nothing is set in stone and could change based on author’s feelings. Crook is a strong candidate but there are more into it than just that. There are strong foreshadowings that it’s probably crook, but it could be red herrings too.

Let people feel what they want to feel bruh. Betrayals are meant to be despised for, backstories are meant to make a create a mental dilemma about the readers, let the work speak for themselves.

It’s 2020, people are better than that.

Imo she could go higher depending on who she’s against.

@Kasami_Gi I’m sorry man, but betraying your group to a bunch of terrorists is going to make others, specially me, angry at him. If I selled you out to Al Qaeda, you would not think about my motivations, but would much of an asshole I am.

Crook gets no break from me. If he is the traitor, he’s getting a knife to the back.

Also, Mr. Gi, everything we said in the post was based on the words of the book. Tress is jealous, DG is unreliable, Crook is shady, Mob is too idealistic, etc. It’s just that, when discussing the traitor, people will focus on their bad actions/judgement/personality etc. We are trying to find likely suspects based on how they act, their motivations, their relationship with the MC, etc.

But you are also right that Tress is a gifted speaker, DG is the life of the party, Crook is relentlessly determined and focused, Mob is honest and intregrous. We know that. They have their good and bad traits. It’s just that things tend to get heated when discussing the traitor. But we know they are not black and white, but shades of grey.

I also agree with the “calling it”. Unless Mr. Moser pulls a twist out of his ass, one of us will deduce correctly where the story is going. In fact, it’s more pleasant to be able to “call it” while reading, than just putting a twist in the story for the sake of it to mislead readers. A good story, through foreshadows, is able to be “called” sooner or later.

Also, if Downfall was against MX, she can steal his fear aura. I also wouldn’t doubt she can steal the morph ability of Low Life. I don’t think she can hold against the U.S army, but a battalion of soldiers? Sure.

@Charles_sama I agree. A book/game is supposed to evoke emotions. Failing to do that can destroy a book in the very first pages. If you know about plot structure, then you know about hooks, inciting events, plot points, etc. If your protagonist is not in the danger, if the story doesn’t have stakes, doesn’t have hard choices, it flops, and it flops hard. Imagine:

Mass Effect without the decision at Virmire. Wayhaven without the angst. Fallen Hero without the pain. Tomb Raider without the danger. Choice of Rebels without the hopeless. Sabres/Guns of Infinity without the cynism of war. It wouldn’t be the same thing.

You see my point? A book or art that doesn’t evoke emotion, whatever it is, is doomed to fail. It you don’t get angry at the traitor, pity him or understand him, whatever, it calls into question why even bother putting a traitor at all. If a betrayal to your character can pass by the story as if it is just another Tuesday, it undermines the story.

So I get that you don’t want us to point fingers at characters, but the question of the traitor begets discussion and will inevitably give rise to emotions, which a good story should always strive for.

…can I just say that this was an epic speech?

Exactly, let people enjoy stuff, let people hate on stuff. And btw I noticed that no one pointed out that stoic also has a bad point but it comes out good to me.

She doesn’t show much emotion, and she hates talking, she prefers actions. A double edged sword that would please some and annoy some, in my case tho, it’s a pleasant experience.

I doubt it man, perma morph types aren’t supposed to be duped right? It’s just how it goes, only shapeshifters could do that, and downfall can copy abilities but I doubt she can copy morphs, we never saw her copy hedonist after all, well there was no need in the first place but you get the point, I doubt it.

@Charles_Sama I think it would work like a Super Saiyan. She wouldn’t become a gorilla, but perhaps she receives augmented strength.

That works for strength type abilities but morphs? Idk, maybe if lowlife has a strength enhancing abilities

That was an amazing speech!
But that’s my problem, from my view i don’t see them as imaginary characters, i don’t see it as a book, i get myself too involved into it, that’s why i get angry at people in these kind of discussion when they speak so blankly about a character.
Like you said, a point of a book is to pull your strings of emotions but i have seen people not getting that point and i don’t know why it bugs me so much that i have to try to explain it.
Sorry for sounding like an authority asshole.

And please don’t call me Mr, make me feel weird and old.

I most certainly will not say I called it, but I have a feeling I may be going the opposite way with my mouth hanging open going “OMG WHY!!! NO!!!” Regardless, if I am right, I promise to dance a jig with my cat in solemn privacy and not utter a single word on here. I will be to busy going through Chapter 3 with my 20+ previous characters anyways.

And Tress has got to be the traitor…or maybe Crook, but that would be sad, or maybe the MC (unknowingly) cause it would be a twist. I don’t really care right now as long as there are cat puns. Which there will most likely be none.

if he ends up betraying us i will restart the trilogy and give him the cold shoulder throughout.

@Kasami_Gi @thestrangemonkey seeing your points can i humbly request that you help criticize my book when the 1st demo is released. i would appreciate your commentary.

Wish I could have the same determination as you.

Heh, i can try. My commentaries are mostly on how people shouldn’t be judging someone too quickly, imaginary or not. I’m just pointing out obvious views that people ignore, i don’t have enough socialism and skill with people to be convincing as you can see. Also, my points usually all over the play until i got a target (the constant talk about how the traitor).
I’m more about reading and observing until it really bother me to try and explain. So I probably wouldn’t be much help.
Finally, as you can tell by reading this, my points are all over the place and i don’t know how to describe which I’m good at and can help you with. I’m just adding whatever i think would really explain my stupidity.
Anyway, I’m really suprise someone acknowledged my rambling and would gladly help you with whatever but most people here would probably give much better advises than me.

Almost everything you can think of except for having more than 10 clones of himself but all of which possess the same power.
