Yeah, you’d need 100 Persuasion to do that
It’d be legendary, tho
Almost makes me wonder what Halloween would be like for them??
Prank wars between our students and theirs. DG will take the lead, and who doesn’t want to pranks Downfall?
(except yeah…we might get detention after that or even worse)
Now THAT needs to be added to the story lol. I can imagine DG swapping Tress’ shampoo for hair dye lmao
OMG tress with flowing rainbow hair!
A prank war would likely end up with everyone teaming up to get DG. (And possibly Quickie getting pranked a lot)
That, I want to read

I just quickly browsed the thread this morning (I’m out the door in 5 minutes) but I saw some talk of costumes and prank wars and stuff, so I’ll just put this out there…
I’m doing my best to publish a (very small) CCH 2.5 this year, that would be entirely focused on silly antics. It would probably be called something like CCH 2.5: Capers and Antics, or something along those lines. Basically, there are a lot of light-hearted scenes I still want to see unfold but that just don’t have a spot in Part 3. They have to take place in the past.
So far, I have a half-finished scene of them playing a D&D-type game, set somewhere in the middle of Part 2 (Wombat is alive/around). Ideally, I’d have three scenes of about 10,000 words each, so I’m trying to figure out what other types of “silly adventures/games” people would like to see.
These would be carried almost entirely by the characters and their banter. Stats would be totally different, and probably unique to each of the 3 adventures. You wouldn’t even load your Part 2 character. You’d just answer like four questions (your name, your orientation, your gender, who you’re dating, and then you’re off!)
So what specific “caper/prank/silliness” scenes would you like to see?
I’ve made no secret of how much I adore the comedy “Community” and how their writers transformed little ideas so wonderfully into hugely engaging scenes (paintball, pillow forts, floor is lava, D&D), that I want to try my best to do something similarly funny.
So give me your ideas! None are stupid! I’ll listen to all of them! Heck, I’ve considered everything from laser tag to games of Musical Chairs or Duck Duck Goose that go crazy out of control, so nothing is really off-limits. That’s what appeals most to me in doing this.
A Freshman Orientation Dance …
@Eiwynn, you mean a school dance scene that takes place way back around Issue 2 or so? That would be such a blast from the past! Stunner would be around, and Uni! Oh my
, I love the idea. The group wouldn’t yet have the same chemistry they have now, but it would still be doable to write. It would need a Speck-appropriate theme for the dance though, for sure. Hmmmm…
What about a Halloween Masquerade dance? lol.
A Halloween dance? Hmmm…costumes give opportunity for comic book references, cute couples/group themes, wacky “I thought you were in the other costume” mishaps, etc., so I like that there is a lot of material there. (would DG go as Tress? I think they were frenemies even back then)
And a costume contest at the end of the night with some sort of prize that causes everyone to try to upstage the others, there’s the conflict I need.
Could romance also be available and also what if the stats could be linked to the books following it in the timeline.
No, this would be an entirely independent self-contained little release. It would give me (and the reader!) maximum flexibility to do things that, while canon, aren’t going to affect the main plot, and that aren’t limited by “main game” stats.
And then I can find a little tiny scene somewhere in Part 3 where they reminisce for a few minutes about the whole journey and someone is like, “Remember that halloween party?” and for people who read 2.5 they will be like “I remember” and for people who don’t read 2.5 they will just treat the comment as a little throw-away line.
What about laser tag, or water balloons? I can tell you from experience that shenanigans ensue
Lol for my senior prank back in high school we filled some with maple syrup. Trust me when I say it’s as evil as it sounds.

While I was wholly kidding around with the costume thing, I am 100% for a 2.5.
How about an opportunity to switch out some of the costumes of your friends? Like say, sneak through the night and swap the costumes of DG with Tress(or whoever) and see the reactions?
So the 2.5 takes place after the first semester and before the third semester?
I believe I would like to cash in this coupon good for one chicken fight now, sir.
Also, for the Halloween dance, my tactician would totally go in a homemade Dr. Stench costume as an inside joke only he would know.
