Wowā€¦ā€œNo Where To Go But Upā€ is truly sad and breathtaking. Almost reminds me of ancient Japanese haikus: simple and amazing.

Sorry to pester but are we going to get any more interactions with our RO? The last 2 games just didn’t feel like they had enough. I was hoping to spend more time with them.

I’m glad you folks enjoyed Dr. Hover’s ā€˜origin story.’ I took it to my writers’ group for feedback, and spent a good amount of time polishing it last year.

I wanted to write something in a more literary style, since my normal style is punchier/lighter. It’s never a bad idea to stretch out of your comfort zone.

@DarkKnight, yes she’s around. Whenever I need a sound effect, she’s there.

@Azraeel, my trusty spreadsheet tells me to include each stat/story element at least once per chapter, which should mean that everything, money, ouch, relationships, power levels, goals, primary stats, everything gets included in every chapter, but there’s a good chance we don’t get ā€œrealā€ romance scenes until Issue 10, just because I had to set the chess board with plot lines for Issue 9. Now once they get set (and most of them are now), then I can start requiring your MC to make trade-offs. Do you prioritize time with your sweetie, do you focus on grades, do you keep your eye on the big picture stuff?

I’ve come around to the line of thinking that every choice should have trade-offs, especially at this stage in the game.

Is that really a question? Of course I prioritize romance. Good grades can’t keep me warm. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: As long as I don’t have to completely choose between ā€œhaving loveā€ and ā€œall other goalsā€. Because that’s somewhat frustrating to me if the only way to spend any time doing other things/exploring other facets of the game ever is to cut off honey bear altogether, haha.

Give up the world and run away with Tress? Sure I’m in lol. No other option but best girl

@anon21485497, nah I don’t see any reason to be punitive, but you can’t have everything. Based on @Azraeel’s comment, I wonder if I should set some code at the end of the game

*selectable_if tress_rel > 98 #Run away with Tress to a remote tropical paradise and enjoy a long, passionate life together filled with frequent power struggles and less frequent handcuffs, even though it will mean that everyone else I know will die terrible, gruesome deaths at the hands of the Diabolical Dozen, who will rule the Earth with an iron grip for decades.

Would anyone take that deal, assuming I actually wrote this out?

Is it weird that i have perfectly accepted that my MC could die by the end of this trilogy/issue 12?

Heh wouldnt be much of a hero if I said yes but damn if it isn’t tempting.

Definitely tempting. I would probably choose it on at least one playthrough per RO just to see their respective endings lol

Au contraire, my friend. I can’t have everything on one play. But I can and will have everything by the 50th incarnation of my MC and the 100th playthrough of what I’m already completely convinced will be my favorite game of 2021 or 2022.

Never! Not for Stressy Tressy anyways. Now if that were Crook…you might have yourself a deal. You can’t judge us for it though. It was your devious offer and who hasn’t wished they could cut their losses and ditch all responsibilities from time to time? If Booksmart and Mega Cat think they’re so amazing, then they can figure it out. :joy: :joy:

I played the other 2 games and I wondered when does this game take place time period wise because it could be early 2000s to the future so what is the starting year of book 1

I know I never mentioned this but the title for this game ā€œAll Things Endā€ just gets me so pumped, not wistful or sad just pure excitement.

Going by the information given by the start of the game, the starting year of book 1 is 2011.

The MC is 19 in game 1 and was born in 1992, as they mention in book 2 that they were born not long after the shields came down in 1992. Adding the MC’s age and birth year together gives the year 2011.

Of course I wouldn’t run off with Tress! Dirty Girl is the only one for me!

Okay, update is live. Link is in Post 1.

It’s up to 45,000 words (w/o code or character creation), so over 10,000 new words from the last update.

Spot any continuity errors? If something doesn’t flow, it could be a coding error, so please let me know! Does anything not make sense plotwise? Again, please point it out! I think this chunk of new content is pretty clean, but it’s getting harder to go over new stuff as this gets longer, so more eyes are appreciated!

I’ll do the next update in Late July, at which time I plan to be between 65,000-70,000 words, and well into Chapter 10.
