Community College Hero 3: All Things End (Poll on Post #1248 re: romantic short stories)

I personally loved the demo and am really excited for part 3. Also this aspect of being at Prestige is something I find particularly intriguing. Downfall has led me to heavily favor them, and I’m really looking forward to have more interaction with her and the prestige faculty

At the first two parts, the feeling of being called captain powerless was just a fun title saying no powers, but after selecting the power option. Captain powerless really fits. I can make someone with power, well powerless… it seems to be a very good match with the name… Very cleaver of you.

Can’t wait to see more.

WOW im super hype but just gonna ask if all the equipment gained at CCH 1 will have an impact on this last series ?

I played the 15k version and i have to say, only the Power path match the reactions and dialogues.

“How did this happened?” Asking that about the Armor or the Weakness Scanner on the other two path don’t make sense, i went looking for them obviously! Also, why did they so impressed about your Armor or Scanner, i mean, we’re in a SupperHeroes College after all and knockout gas or weakness scanner, are extremely useful, yes, but people would rather win with a sword and ton of wound than win with a shield even if it keep you safe. (I’m not talking about weapons and equipment changing, bare with me).

All path in the demo version have the line “I’m finally a thread”. I don’t think supporting by finding weaknesses considered a thread, i know that spilling other weakness will be a disadvantage against them but i think opponents would focus on your allies than attacking you when that happen since with your gears (which all burned), you have to depend on your raw power and will be a dead weight to your team when being attacked.

What I’m saying is i suggest write different dialogues and reactions on each paths to it make more sense since if trying to impress a school full of Powered Heroes, you’ll have to do better than knockout some one with gas or exploit some one weakness, like you get to do something new you improved on the Armor (Dr.Stend Path) and maybe have something more that can be used along the Scanner (Tactician Path).

Or if you think it’s too complicated and will greatly delay your progress, just focus on complete the game

Thanks for reading!

If you decide you want to keep the Downfall interview, but want to not break the 4th wall you could just have us make that choice in the “how did this happen” scene with our friends, since everything, other than actually using our power, seems to be generalized to work with each power option.

Also, will having been Downfalls teachers pet in CCH1 be used in this book? I understand the powers and relationship stats needed reworking, but some of the dialog seemed off considering my last conversation with her involved her gifting me a grenade, and it wasn’t even my birthday.

After going over the tactician path again, I find myself in agreement. Idk about Quickie because I haven’t seen it, but with Dr. Hover and Friendzone you do something your PC would probably have done anyway in the previous two books. It doesn’t take a nanotech-enabled analyzer to tell that Dr. Hover probably doesn’t use his legs much, and tripping him doesn’t seem very impressive.

Perhaps there should be a better way to implement showing off the tactician’s new abilities.

Echoing a sentiment has been raised, I feel that a nanotech-enabled tactician - amped though we might be - invalidates the hard work that we had to put in to analyse heroes/villains. From the start, I enjoyed the tactician path as it was a means to be a hero on the MCs own tenacity and drive. Now, in using nanotech now to “assist” with our analysis, it feels like all the work we had to put in to hone our tactical skills is for naught. And that… is not something I particularly like.

I understand your reasoning that you wanted each path to be ‘equal’, but I’d really prefer it if we could become more skilled at analysing on our own accord, without any aid from nanotech. Perhaps we could have found a mentor to train with instead?

Also, I’m hyped about what you have in store regarding the ‘betrayer’ , and the scene way back in CCH1! That was the scene that got me hooked into your series in the first place.

I’ll try to weave in some “natural” improvements along the way too. I mean, it doesn’t have to be an “all or nothing” situation with the Tactician - not all of their success has to be attributed to the nano tech, but I had to give them a boost because stakes are going to ramp up a LOT in Part 3, and MC’s plot armor only gives me so much latitude without crossing over into the ridiculous. An MC with no significant upgrade (basically an ‘end of Part 2’ MC) would be crushed, probably in the first real fight scene of Issue 9, which I’m writing as we speak.

And yes balance is crucial. I can’t write any of the three paths to be ‘better’ than the others. They are different, and a certain one may be preferable for an individual player’s roleplaying purposes, but none of them can be objectively ‘better.’ IMO that is poor game design, something I’m doing my best to avoid (unless I were to intentionally make the different paths Easy, Medium, Hard, which would be a legitimate approach, but one I’m not interested in doing).

And the betrayer! Oh my, since it’s already happened, it seems like your MC is destined to get screwed over in Part 3. Thankfully I have plenty of possible screw-over-ers.

I don’t object to the nanotech, per se.

Although I was expecting more Batman, less Midnighter.

Although I can’t help but think that letting a supervillain give you something that interfaces with your brain, that could never go wrong!

I’ll be running some polls on things like which Mid-Game Goals and End-Game Goals are the most popular, because that will help as I proceed, but I figured I’d ask about the Paths now.

I think I’ve laid enough groundwork for this - which path is your MC taking?

  • Dr. Stench
  • Zenith
  • Tactician

Oops, accidently click Dr.Stench and can’t change it
You could have guess, people would choose the P O W E R path :)) most don’t like Dr.Stench cuz it’s not considered “cool” since it don’t have laser beam, jetpack, minigun or stupid sh#t like that. I would be lying if i say i don’t agree with them, but it’s nice to have a change of pace and not accidently kill anyone :v anyway, how is the book looking?

Yes, no doubts that improvements will be made but I’m not talking about that, I’m not talking about make one path or another better or worse, I’m talking about how your character talk and show their Armor or Scanner, it’s only make sense for the Power path in some of the dialogues and reactions,
Like “You’re finally considered a threat” (doesn’t fit for the Tactician),
“How did this happened” (again, only fit for the Power path, the other, I WENT LOOK FOR THE EQUIPMENT OBVIOUSLY!)

And when you “show” them what you can do and basically knockout someone with gas (like Downfall and even DG can do it now) or exploit weaknesses (taking Quicky goggles off and let him ran into something or tripping Dr.Hover), both aren’t THAT “impressive”, specially you’re in a school full of Powered Kids.

I’ll admit that with the Scanner and your intelligent, you’ll be the brain of the whole team, it’ll also make you the weakest and the dead weight of your team when the only thing you have is half a glasses (i think anyone can be smart enough to try and break your scanner if you’re the one yelling order while playing with it, not to mention what Lady Ash did to your old stuff).

After a battle using your plans and listen to you (which help no one get hurt), no one gonna be “Hey, your smart ass saves us!” (People always expect a hero to be flashy, running down the enemy, not patient, calm and use their head to actually understand how arrogant they are), not that i want any credits, but I will be pissed if anyone jump in and suck all of it.

Lastly, i think I talks for everyone when i say DON’T YOU DARE PUT THAT A$$HOLE (you know who) IN MY WAY, HE WILL SUFFER A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH LATER, and i see you’re steering us forward to believe Origami is still alive in the “Zone” (somehow), and The X and Lady Ash go in there at the end, i don’t want any spoilers but PLEASE I’m not about to face a corrupted Origami full of vengeance, i read enough books to know it isn’t about to be a heart warming reunion (can it?)

Who is the a$$hole you are talking about? Because as hyped as you are, I feel like I need to put them in your way!

And there have to be some happy endings, because the existence of those will hopefully make the sad endings even sadder in comparison.

Just do one happy ending. As DLC sold separately.

Well, the Moser household is on close to lockdown for the next few weeks, so I hope to be able to crank out a lot more content. (I’m still working full-time, but no school, no social events, no sports to get sucked into watching, etc., means more writing time).

As always, Patrons get first notice of updates, but I suspect I’ll be pushing an update soon.
