I’ll be posting what I have of Issue 9 this week.

This community is just wonderful at giving feedback and support, and honestly those are some things I need right now to crank my production into overdrive.

I just need a day or two to clean up what I have, make sure it’s bug-free, etc.

I have a question will we get to play the demo of this? And when you release this I’m so buying jt

Oh the demo is going to be pretty short, just a part of Issue 9. But yes, I’ll link the demo soon.

As long as goodbye doesn’t mean kill me…

But I wonder if an end with a successful mc who pay the price with a wound that will force them to continue their life handicapped (spine wound and paralyzed legs for example) …
If you weren’t good enough, you can still save the day and your friends but you will say goodbye to your heroic carrier.

If you’re searching for neutral semi good ending, I think it’s interesting.

I’d like to be apart of the testing!

@Lordlorac, I already have a matrix of endings mapped out on my trusty spreadsheets, so yes there will be a mix of good/bad based on your progress toward those goals. In doing Part 3, I’ve started with the end in mind, and I’ve spent months mapping out lots of goals you can pursue, and lots of endings you can get. I’m nowhere near writing that content, but the skeleton is there. I’m MUCH more organized than I was when I started writing the other 2 parts. It sounds like your idea might be the result of an Ouch testing choice near the end, and that’s an interesting possible addition to any matrix.

@Christopher_Wells, Well this will be year-long testing. I’ll try to write and provide updates as aggressively as my life allows. I’m hoping for something like: end of March, reach end of Issue 9, end of June, reach end of Issue 10, end of Sept, reach end of Issue 11, end of the year, ready for complete beta testing. That is NOT a promise; just a general path for me to try to have this ready for beta by year’s end.

It’s just that in game or movie, the main characters pay the price with their life (or their friends) when they were not totally up to the task.

I remember that Korra’s book 3 ending was really touching, or fma brotherhood ( in wich Edward sacrifice his own alchemy, and for one such as himself it’s like he severed himself another arm .
It’s a big price but it’s not that common in stories.

Yeah. I wonder if there will be a way were we could end up failing and being seen as a vigilant or perhaps even a villian because of our failure

I play as a hero, but I think it’s already possible to play as a vigilante (if you want to avenge Origami it’s by blood and murder, not really a hero thing).
But it’s most for last game I think. It won’t serve anyone to annonce before the end that you are a villain or a vigilante.

True. I was more interested in if their would be choices that could potentially lead to being seen as either a hero, villian, or a vigilant. Sorry if there was any confusion

Okay, I posted my first update, which has the first 15,000 words of the story.

The link is in Post #1, which I just updated.

I welcome anyone who wants to help me this year and hang out in the thread!

Very slight spoiler regarding the zenith path for those who haven’t taken look at the demo yet.

Summary

I used the Hero name Null originally for the first two games because I was reminded of Null from the Hero Rise series and I was laughing my brains out when I read our power xD

So excited to see this rolling out! Finished the demo and absolutely can’t wait to see what comes next!

A few typos and some other commentary, all spoilery

I passed out. I don’t know for how long. But i woke up and they were getting ready to put this helmet on me,

I’m not really sure what the point of the “loyalty helmet” thing is? That whole section reads very oddly. I know there’s been a lot of discussion around the threads about Bookie being evil or mind controlling, and I’m not saying she’s never had any “the world is a mess and I just need to rule it” vibes, but this feels way out of left field. If she has the ability to just make people loyal to her, why does she reject the MC’s attempt at allying with her in book 2 on the basis that she doesn’t think they’d be loyal to her? If she can just make them be, why would that matter? Have we seen any other characters besides Captain California with that helmet? If she designed him a suit to make his powers function what would be the point of also forcing him to be loyal to her–I thought that was already kind of sketchy just because of the implication that he might be loyal out of some sense of debt or obligation rather than actually believing in her goals, and it might make her in general come across as manipulative and underhanded-chess-master-y rather than just taking over people’s minds. If it seems like I’m belabouring a point that goes by pretty quickly in the game–well, I am, but frankly this feels like a big revelation that wouldn’t be brushed off this quickly anyway. I get that we need some peril in the acquisition of powers, but I feel like it would be better to do something like “they found out I wasn’t supposed to be here and then were going to lock me up/turn me into police/shove me out a window or something”.

Also in that scene, I think it would be better to have every player get the fully detailed flashback and then the RP choice afterwards of how much they tell their classmates. There’s a stat boost in there, plus just the fun of getting maximum detail, and it shouldn’t be blocked off for folks playing cagier characters.

Also in that scene! I am incredibly excited for the nullifier powers. I always thought that would be the best and most thematic choice for the MC and I’m super excited to see where the story takes it.

"…if you embrace everything we have to offer here, you won’t even recognize yourself afterwards. Hell, maybe you’ll end up like me.

Missing a quotation mark at the end of the thought

Bracing yourself, you lean forward and grab your hands as she barrels into you!

Based on context, I assume it should be “grab her hands”?

After the Black Bullet taunts the MC about taking down the St Louis Arch, the options don’t say which stat they’ll boost? Is that intentional?

When choosing which city the reporter is reporting on Savior from, the Birmingham option is missing a period
