The government would really like to have a power like that (that can instantly defeat powered people).
They could make new powered people as super soldiers and use this power to control them all.
And good luck fighting the whole government without real powers of your own.
This scenario kinda reminds me of Fallen Hero with the farm lol

They would extract your power and use it to make a depowering weapon. Then Victon would try to use it on you at the graduation party.

You can vanish especially with no one left to track you with super powers. But you could probably just cut a deal and become Government sponsored Iron Man/Batman along with your null powers. Sweet house position of importance. After all if you have to actually activate your powers your useless without your consent.
