In August and September, I’ll be running beta tests for Community College Hero 2.5: Fun and Games.
CCH 2.5 is very different than Parts 1 & 2. It will be a collection of 3 interactive stories showing the exploits of the MC and the Speck kids taking place during various times in their freshman fall and spring semesters.
I’m not sure of the total length of the game, but it’s likely to be between 30k-40k words.
Basically, these are (I think) fun little scenes showing the sillier side of their lives at Speck. It will lean heavily on characters, banter, humor, with relatively low-stakes drama. It will NOT carry over stats from Parts 1 or 2. I did this for ease of coding, maximum flexibility for replaying 2.5, and to reinforce that stats are totally different in 2.5). But it’s all canon!
Story 1: The Fury of Zarlor (the gang plays a D&D-type RPG game to appease Combat Wombat) (this will likely be the “flagship” story) (50% finished)
Story 2: (untitled) (it’s “Meet the Parents” day at Speck!) (plotting)
Story 3: (untitled) (the gang has a spooky time at Halloween!) (plotting)
I’m looking for beta testers for between now and mid/late September. I plan to test each story as it’s developed so that when Story 3 is done, the WHOLE game is ready to send to Hosted Games. If I can get Hosted Games the game files very quickly, I believe it can be published before the end of the year.
I’ve posted part of “The Fury of Zarlor” so you can get the vibe.
Because the stories are short and I want to stay focused, I’ll move future beta testing to a private thread.
If you like the vibe of “Zarlor,” have some free time for the next 60 days, and consider yourself a CCH fan (obviously having read Parts 1 and 2), sign up below and I’ll invite you to a private thread.
That way, you can playtest “Zarlor” and help me clean it up while I draft Parents Day.
Thanks for your help!
