In the light of a recent Adding commas to numbers thread am I the only one thinking it would add greatly to have a subroutine that formats resources in stats screen? For example instead of “10000” for the game to display “10,000”.

I played with a variety of characters and there seems to be a problem for gay male MCs and heterosexual female MCs who go straight to work. In both cases, the love interests seem to be set to female. I didn’t encounter the same problem if both those MCs had breakfast with their father first.

Just tested the same thing with a trans MC interested in men. Same problem: Love interests appear as female. But it correctly changes if you have breakfast with your father.

What’s also a bit weird: Right at the beginning, Rosalie already appears as a potential suitor in the stats, even though you haven’t even chosen if the MC will pursue women, men or both.

I think gender doesn’t matter as all gay is allowed as good by dad. but I choose being heterosexual girl and ended with absolutely all romance choices as female. Also no idea what choice is what race or anything. The game lost me When I am a college student that have no idea of who Shakespeare is an all women are or illiterates or directly saying silk and dresses are the only interesting topic. Then I was called negro and that’s it i will no play a game racist and sexist I

Wha?!? Are all the romanceable npc’s genders on a random number generator or something, so you can end up extremely unlucky? Seems a bad way to go about it as that could potentially leave my gay male mc with 11 women or for that matter Mara’s heterosexual girl.

No the gender assignments are constant depending on whether or not the MC is straight, gay or bi/pan. There is no randomness involved. Nevertheless given @feurio and @poison_mara’s comments it does sound like there are some bugs in the assignment of gender to RO’s however for some MC sexual oientations.

Wow! Shakespeare is the Sun around which English Literature classes orbit. His works from Romeo and Juliet to Hamlet, MacBeth, and Julius Casear are required reading in most American high school classes.

Maybe that is something US colleges still do better for all their extortionate fees, but over here that is hardly the case any longer.

Of course going back to this game’s mc and Mara’s comment, perhaps they’re just meant to be a lazy Toff who may not have cared to read many of their assignments because they were going to graduate on basis of “legacy” anyway.

I’m not sure if US colleges do it better, but between 1/2 and 2/3 of your required coursework for a baccalaureate have nothing to do with your major and are intended to make you a “well-rounded” human being. That’s a lot of money invested in becoming a “well-rounded” human being.

That is very different from here then, both my bachelor’s and masters were in law and while the bachelor does have a greater emphasis on legal history and philosophy the number of courses that have nothing to do with law are small, though one or two language courses are not uncommon and of course, remedial college math, which yours truly just managed to dodge by a hair’s breath is the dread of many a first year law student. But, overall I’d say the US/North American (does Canada follow this model for the bachelor’s too @Cataphrak?) first couple of years of college/university are radically different from ours.

It depends on the programme. I took a whole bunch of courses in my first two years at University, ranging from Modern English Lit to Comp Sci (I actually switched from PoliSci to History when I realised I’d fulfilled more degree requirements for the latter than the former), but in my last two years, I focused heavily on the upper-division History courses I needed for my degree. My programme was pretty permissive in that regard, and I maybe only had a dozen or so mandatory courses (along with a handful of “breadth” requirements outside my general field of study).

Meanwhile, I’ve got friends who got degrees in engineering and computing science who more or less lived in those departments, and never poked their head out except to eat, go to the bathroom, and (occasionally, if they were lucky), sleep.
