I would say no they do not put a clock in it, its a more of they may look at things differantly. What if the flint lock had never been. Someone would still have created a gun, they may have seen someone working on a clock and figured away to use a spring and a few gears. People are creative that way. Of course others would see the design and improve or see other potenial from the clock. it would grow out wards.

By “put a clock in it” I just mean that they make it “clockwork” and it magically works better for no reason even though it would realistically now not work at all, or at best work worse.

I think you need to broaden yor mind to the infinite possiblity of fiction  however this is just my humble opion. If you can not see it working as well or not better that is your right and choice I will keep dreaming however.
*edit @Shoelip I mean this in the best possabl. way, I respect your opion a lot of what you say

@Shoelip,
I’m starting to agree with you but I want to know what you think some other reasons for using Clockpunk would be. Just wondering, I want to hear your opinion.

This is a complex question to answer, as my minds eye see so much potential. I will sit down later today and put a few of these thoughts down.

I can envision a world with a unique way of thingking. Most of us think in words, a few in pictures, perhaps here the masses think in high res images. Or someone like De Vini came out with drarwings based on clocks, the ideas spread. Perhaps it is just fasionable to have unique items made from clock tech, a nobles game that would influnce the poor masses. Or perhaps a deranged leader gives an edict that all tech most be based from a clock perspective. This could be just regional. These are just the first few thoughts that cross my mind.

Ok, now it’s Shoelip’s turn. Shoelip?

Lol

What? Sure it’s fiction, but I was under the impression that it was historical fiction, so adding random magic clockwork guns seems totally out of place. If it’s an alternate history or something where everything is clockwork it makes sense and I can suspend disbelief, but just making a world that’s exactly like ours, but with a gun that’s magically better because it was “clockpunked” is just kind of silly.

I was going for Alternate history, not magic, people just kept going like that. Essentially,Clockpunk is Alternate History where most Tech is Clockwork and the other aspects of life are standard 15th Century Fair. And also it is silly, i mean c’mon, who even started the gun thing? I think this is LordIrish’s Fault, apologies, LI, Now!

lol this argument is good enough for popcorn 8->

Lol I thought it was just a spirited conversation
:-D.

oh ya ya i agree …i still want popcorn though im going to go make some \:D/

Don’t make me mad.
Ok, my Final Verdict:
Alternate History where Most/All Tech is Clockwork, no silly Magical Clockwork Guns, Period. Everything Else but Tech is Standard Renaissance/1500s Fare, meaning Warfare, Houses (Of Families, not literal Houses) Fighting, Power Struggles, CityStates, the Italians, The Vatican, The French, The British, Et Frigging Cetera!
I’m sorry, that last part wasn’t called for.

Yeah, it sure Started spirited, but turned into Silly BS about magic.

I thought that this was revanrulesrussia’s game.

I Suggested Clockpunk, he was good with it…then things started going to hell.

Yes, but you don’t get final verdict. Revan does.

Yes, should’ve worded that better, more like my final suggestion.

Lol
