Since I really do not know the clockpunk setting I realy could not say, but I envision it full of complex springs that control the hammer and feeding of the shells.
*edit you beat me @Havenstone but it is nice to see I am on it.
So basically, a gun with a bunch of pointlessly complex additions that probably just serve to make it take longer to fire.
Or it is so percise that itt could fire at a much higher rate then a normal gun. If you look in a clocks mech. its compact clean percise. This is the world they would most likly be veiwing things from.

Basically, a gun comparable to a modern day Handgun made from clockwork
Only for the assassin. Take that, big government!

It would still take a few seconds before it can start shooting, so a lag time would be its problem

Yes.
RRR, remember what we said about making the tech avalible for everyone, I.E., Clockwork Manufacturers, Companies, Stores, etc. Otherwise we’re making an AC2 And Brotherhood like game.
So basically it’s a world where sticking clocks on things makes them magical?
I mean, a flintlock pistol isn’t complicated. You pull the trigger which releases the striker thingie, which hits the flint, igniting the powder, and causing it to explode, which propels the shot out of the barrel. Realistically, how is sticking clocks on it supposed to make it faster? How is anything supposed to make it faster?
Maybe you could have some sort of automatic reload mechanism but that would have to be gigantic, completely defeating the purpose of a pistol.

No, That would be Some Ole Bullshit. This is Clockpunk. No magic, Just Tech.
Again. Everything I just said. You can’t make a flintlock pistol fire faster just by sticking gears on it. The most modern flintlock pistols were as efficient as they were going to get. That’s why they invented revolvers. “Clockpunk” as you’re describing it is just “Put clocks and stuff on things to make them magical.” Technology works for a reason. Magic just works.

True, Honestly we’re just shooting in the dark here. Out of all the things I listed, we’ve only picked a few, which were the NVGs, a Flamethrower, and Bombs.

Definition of Clockpunk:
Clockpunk
Clockpunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction which is similar to steampunk, in that it portrays advanced technology based on pre-modern designs, but the technology used is based on springs and clockwork, and is usually set during the Renaissance, in the vein of Jay Lake’s novel, Mainspring,[23] and Whitechapel Gods by S M Peters.[24] The term was coined by the GURPS role playing system.[19]

Basically, advanced tech based on pre-modern designs (I.E., renaissance designs), with the tech used being based on springs and clockwork. Understand?
Yeah, I understand. It works for no reason, hence, magic.
Zed

Yep. But hey, if Spec Fic writers can find reasons to justify it, then Hell, so can we, Right? Right?!?!?
Um… I guess. It’s just that it seems like you’re suggesting it for the sole reason of trying not to be just like Assassin’s Creed. There are lots of other ways the game could distinguish itself from it’s obvious inspiration, and there are lots of better reasons to go for a “Clockpunk” setting than to make it seem less like a computer game with a similar premise. I mean, for one thing, Dishonored seems pretty Clockpunky to me, and that’s all about assassinations too.

True. I only Suggested Clockpunk was well, I like to see different things. And Dishonered is more Steampunky, but that’s something else. But I didn’t just suggest it for the sole reason of not being like AC, I just suggested it cause It seemed cool and would fit with the setting
I like the potrayel of advanced technology through simple means. Like the NVGs. It is only a simple wooden base with a green film and is still the same thing that we use today.

Yes, that is Clockpunk, advanced tech, based on premodern designs with the tech used being based on springs and clockwork.
