Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

That… quote is from taking the “That’s enough information” option, so that part of the text was not optional. You should have seen it.

I think he just really doesn’t like Nephlim. Not his type of people. And we don’t know how the relationship between sorcerers and gods is anyway…Maybe not the best?

Or he is so tense because the job got just more complicated with the potential murderer having a blocker…

Him plotting all this just introduces much more questions as it answers if you ask me.

You are right is there…hmm i didn’t notice lol.

I still don’t like him for expecting us to submit to that blocker removal potion without letting us question Nephilim for ourselves. After that why drag us unconscious through the streets of Olympus in front of all those onlookers, why not teleport us directly to the hospital?

I wonder if Saint did that on purpose to tire us out?

My mc hated the forced barefoot tour of Olympus he made us endure (although the barefoot part, fortunately will be fixed in a future update now). Still not a fan of that forced tour that doesn’t really answer any of my mc’s questions, even if we at least no longer have to do it barefoot.

Us not asking any sensitive questions, him being able to drag us to Olympus like a sack of potatoes maybe?

My own impression is the gods want brainwash us and one of first oart of brainwashing is damaged psychologically your foe putting him her on shame and in a bulling situation to destroy his her moral and self steem. The groping scene is typical too sexually harassing help to destroy the ego and causing a destructive psychological state near Stockholm syndrome

Problem here is, his plan was to just directly bring us to Olympus most likely to the Council with no detours. The blocker even gave us more time to ask questions, so pretty contraproductive.

And if you mean only the collapsing, well Avery indicates that it could have even killed MC. Nothing that would help the gods, as in that case the Essence just would be in Cronus hands with no way to intervene for them. Why should they risk that?

I don’t think I’d be easy for the silent-loner type (he doesn’t eat lunch with anyone else besides Calypso and Adonis) to try to…upstage? Draw attention from? I dunno the term… anyway, if he wants to try to be a hero more famous than Aeson and “step away from his shadow”, he could probably start by making more acquaintances first

A hero’s gotta have fans and cheerleaders, y’know? :stuck_out_tongue:

Or…maybe he transported the Bearer by himself since he just learned that showing up with his team of Seekers would likely end up in another fight/chase?
and of course my girl is just a walking wallet

Again, this isn’t the first time that I felt bad/sorry about the perspective you decided to give your MC, Mara. That just seems like such a grim outlook :frowning:
NOW I WILL BANG AN ANIMAL LIKE DADDY

“If you can’t beat them, join them”? :stuck_out_tongue:

Clearly it works for Kevin Durant haha
But he acted so weirdly in the tower so asshole that it looks so fishy to me
I’ll chalk that up to Saint probably thinking “Here I am, bringing the (soon-to-be-all-powerful) person I’m supposed to be escorting to Olympus to the house of a creepy sorcerer so he can try to work his magic on this blocker that I myself can’t do much about. Oh hey! He lives in a creepy house with shelves filled with blood!”

I’d be a bit tense too in his case ;)
I’m sorry, I’ve been away for a bit and didn’t see this update. What barefoot tour are we talking about exactly?

Avery is not the bible she is a demigod that is the pupil of a minor god . If her mistress said to her you have to lie the Bearer and tell her how Saint saved her life to make us pro Saint the groping guy.Groping guy? Sergeant Octopus . For all my character know she even could be put in coma by the Hospital to make experiments on her and put a killing switch to control her. I mean is something a god could plan. Even Mr glitter shields tell you they put stuff on him to control and calming him… and he is the favourite. Imagine what could them made to little emo mara.
@RanchoJoe it is not an update Rohie just forgot give us shoes and we are walking barefoot and with no good clothes after the Hospital. But it would be fixed soon

So your attention to clothing detail paid off after all? Good job

Mine and @idonotlikeusernames . And we would receive uniforms and cool clothing like others!!! No more charity clothing and KEYS NO MORE CHIPMUNK DEPENDING TO GO MY ROOM. TAKE THAT CHIPMUNK :chipmunk:

Like Mara said, the author originally had our characters attend their first summoning and the forced tour with Saint and Calypso thereafter in just our hospital clothes and barefoot, which my character found really humiliating and didn’t like one bit.

Well well, I guess works of art really are meant to be for the sake of both the maker and the viewer :stuck_out_tongue:

@idonotlikeusernames I totally glossed over that fact. That’s what I get for not paying enough attention to clothing haha

She didn’t said that Saint saved MC’s life. She said that they needed five healers to save them. Nothing she said lets Saint look in anyway better it only frames his mission to bring the Bearer in one piece to Olympus a failure.

It only made clear that the situation was serious. That the MC was unconscious for several days matches that statement. And it also wouldn’t make any sense to stage that. Time is nothing the gods nor MC have. The gods know that, they can’t even delay the trials, because they need to know if MC can be their hero before the war starts. Even a few days lost for the Bearer make the situation only worse. The Bearer is only useful if they can fight for the gods.

That’s called sedativa, that’s something a person with bad injuries which needs invasive gets together with analgetics (which also often can have a sedative side-effect).

I guess I’m just sensitive to clothes and style.
Of course not every author likes delving into such things and not every reader likes reading about it.
With this game however we have an author who has a very descriptive style of writing and in that particular scene they clearly mentioned how chilly that hospital floor was on our char’s feet and then transitioned to that first summoning and the rest of the day in such a way that prevents one from easily headcanon-ing the clothes in ourselves.
Plus, on the gameplay side of things the stat screen didn’t mention any shoes or boots during those scenes either, just a hospital pants and shirt.

Yeah, everyone except @idonotlikeusernames and me was why are you so obsessed by clothing blah blah  Well, until Rohie said it was unintended. This is the Spanish version of what is a hospital clothing here and in most of European hospitals.

UNDERSTAND MY PROBLEM WITH THE SCENE THTS YOUR CHARACTER GUYS

Well like I said in some of our more modern hospitals it’s a really cheap (sweat)pants/shorts and a hospital logo t-shirt these days. Still very much not the kind of outfit one wants to take a stroll on the town in.

You are lucky… here thankfully if you are having a some days stay they let you put a pyjamas

It still depends on the hospital and the kind of procedure. Those surgical gowns are still used for actual surgeries, not so much for recovery and rehabilitation, fortunately. Still since Olympus hospital is nominally in Greece they may be closer to Spanish norms than ours.

Hi there, Rohie.

I pulled an all-nighter the other day, playing your game from start to finish, and got a lot more content and entertainment than I expected from a WIP. I suspect the surprising lengthiness is partly due to the relative linearity when compared to other CoGs, but I didn’t mind at all. I went in thinking I’d get to kick a lot of ass as the ruthless daughter of Hades, but found out that the fictional world pulled me in and the pacing allowed me to apply myself bit by bit, stealthily guiding me into creating an MC that was much closer to myself than the fictional character I thought I was going to play as. This is quite the feat for a role-playing game! I must congratulate you on a job well done.

Now I’d like to know what I can do for you in turn. I see you’ve asked for grammar/spelling corrections and reports of coding errors. I can say I encountered no error messages other than the save system, which did not work at all. EDIT: My bad! I was using incognito which is why saving didn't work. Spelling errors I did encounter on almost every page - most of them had to do with apostrophe usage. I think you need a dedicated proofreader to go through all the text, and I’d be happy to do that for you if we can figure out a precise and efficient way of communicating such errors.

Aside from that, if there’s any specific aspect of the WIP that you’d like feedback on at this point in time, please tell. The thread discussion is, uh, a little unfocused, so it’s a little hard for a newcomer to tell what sort of comments would be useful and what wouldn’t.

Best regards,
Sontra

Does anyone know if there’s something to gain from interacting with Odysseus? I’ve interacted with him as both Leon and Korrina, but it doesn’t seem like much is indicated that he sees the past Bearer as a trusted companion or takes their idea about the Trojan Horse (if they choose to speak up about it) any more seriously if he has a good bond with them (though I guess it could be argued that the fact the Hero uses the idea after the Bearer died could be a sign that it was considered it more seriously afterwards).

The WIP is definitely one of the best written & truly enjoyable games that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading/playing. @Rohie you have done an amazing job & just know that a lot of us really do appreciate the time & effort that you put into COTG. You can’t always please everyone but I for one, think you’re doing a bang up job of providing us readers with an interesting, entertaining, & thoroughly well-written game!
