Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

I don’t use like temp because if later on you want to talk about who you were in a flashback, with temp you can’t, with a normal variable you can,

Speaking of that, why does the teacher refer to the past character as “they,” when the name is involved already?

edit: and the name is gender-locked

Hey, just flew in to say the story is excellent and keep working on it.

They was just the pronoun I used regardless of whether or not you were male or female.

I encountered the gender-changing bug others have talked about. For example, my male MC who was female during the Troy flashback upon returning hears Athena say the following after finding out who his father is:

“Well, I just came here to escort Alec back to her room.”

That her should have been a his.

As others have basically already said, if you pick a different gender for the Troy flashback from your original, then your original gender variables (he, him, his, etc…) get changed at the beginning of the flashback in chapter 6, but never get reverted back to the originals once the flashback is over.

I see two possible solutions, either:

1) Set and use he1, him1, his1, etc… in the same manner you do gender1 for the flashback instead. These variables have already been created but aren’t currently used.

or

2) Put in some *if statements at the end of chapter 6 to switch he, him, his, etc… back at the same time the history variables are reset to show the original stat page.

If you’ve already fixed this in the not yet released update, than feel free to ignore everything I’ve just said. :smile_cat:

Way older. We’ll be progressively moving toward the present day (the last time you were reborn). You’ll start to see your connections to the Gods. It’s a long history.

I’m going to cry wtf I love this story so much. My lil Deena Angelis. I want her to win. The Game of Thrones. You win. Or you die.

Just wanted to let you know about a typo; strength should be “your steps seem ‘to’ shake the earth”.

Oh, by the way, this is my second MC, who’s the literal definition of “badass who could beat the ever-loving shit out of six people at once with one hand tied behind his back but is still the sweetest and most kind and loyal and modest person in the world”.

And this is just a potential for now, but if in the future you get to fight with weapons, please can you give the option for a hammer? Because this dude is going to be the closest approximation to Thor I can possibly create. I can just imagine him bellowing “COME MY BRETHREN, LET US SMITE THE FOOLS WHO DARE CHALLENGE THE WARRIORS OF OLYMPUS!!!”

I mean, Thor is a Norse God not a Greek one, but that’s why I said approximation. It’s gonna be so frickin’ badass.

P.S.: how exactly do you decrease stress? My MC’s are cool cucumbers in every aspect of life, but I can’t seem to decrease it.

For some reason the hammer is very popular. I can no longer ignore the requests. The main weapons were going to be Adonis’s time-warping sword, Calypso’s bow and arrow, Saint’s lightning bolt, Aeson’s Reaper…but now introducing: Thor’s Hammer.[quote=“Sherlock221B, post:3662, topic:15482”]

There will be ways. But stress influences how well you act during the Trials. So, whenever you get the chance to lower it, even if it’s simply a hunch and you’re not sure of a choice will lower your stress; take it.

I won’t make it super obvious how in the next update, but think about it realistically.

Awwwww yeah; is Mjolnir gonna cause some carnage? You bet she is. I think the hammer just embodies the aspect of strength; all of the others require extra amounts of finesse to wield. The hammer takes some skill, don’t get me wrong, and when wielded properly can embody the grace and skill of a swan who graduated from the Universe’s University of Dance, but nothing gives off the sheer power and badassery that a hammer does; that’s the person that strikes the fear and the “oh my god, what the hell am I doing here, I’m going to die” into the heart of the foolish peasant who thought himself worthy to face me. Plus it actually works out quite well, because this way we can have a weapon entirely our own and not one previously owned or made by the other characters.

And in regards to the stress, that’s actually how I was hoping you set it out; not too subtle, but then again not too difficult to find. I’m glad that I wasn’t just completely missing it all like a goof, but if you’re using the tasks to discern how the MC performs under pressure, then I think that’s a smart way to go.

Good luck with the update; I don’t know when it’s out, but you take your sweet-ass time if it means that we get the best you can give us. That’s the way it should be  Well, that and I get to smite fools with my hammer, but that’s just an added bonus.

Well…since we are talking weapons, I wouldn’t mind some badass dual wielding…

Eh, I never really got the appeal of dual-wielding a weapon; it just seemed inconvenient. The awesome factor is not to be denied though. Double wielding anything takes pretty much double the skill due to the fact that you need to be prepared to block or dodge with a clear disadvantage at doing so. If you get it right however, there’s almost no-one who can stand in your way as you cut down these fools twice as fast.

Also, I forgot to ask; in the spirit of a warrior, will we be able to name our weapons? As in legitimately give it a name? This isn’t just in reference Mjolnir, it’s basically the law of emotion; once you give something a name, you get attached to it. I had far too many stray animals that ended in tears when I was a child because I kept naming them prematurely and so I got attached to them. I know I’d get attached to a weapon I’d named and it may be a fun addition. If not, then completely ignore all of this, but it’s just in the spirit of warriors who have always named their weapons both so they get attached to it and wield it better, and so enemies have a name to fear when they hear of my supreme awesomeness alongside mine.

You should name it MC’s Hammer, and encarved on the hammer the inscription “You can’t touch this”.

So for the Poseidon spawn, is there any chance we can snag a trident and a net to live out our gladiatorial fantasies?

How will that figure out?

Could you include hunt and skin Chipmunks in the hobbies to release the stress? Like certain Chipmunk with a bed in My room. Also I was replaying Fallout 4 and found the recordings of the tale of the red squirrel. That’s Chipmunk a Commies cat spy trying to eat my Brown squirrel character…GO DIE CHIPMUNK

I’d prefer my MC to use a one-handed sword (a sabre?) so that he can use magic with his other hand. Cause why not be both a magician and a warrior? :stuck_out_tongue:

Of course, I expect my Lavei’s endgame equipment to be the Sword of Peleus and the Aegis, the Armor of Achilles, and the Helm of Darkness. When you’re the creator of the universe, you gotta look the part :joy:

Is there the option of a two handed sword like a claymore or greatsword type of thing?
