Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

First - As far as Hera I would like to have the option of laughing to the point that I start crying tears of joy and then do a 360 to stare hard into her ugly eyes and calmly threaten her. Showing her that I’m not afraid while also telling the other god’s and goddesses that they need to get her a muzzle because her mouth is going to be their downfall in not receiving my help.

As for Ares I would simply want to tell him how stupid he looks for attacking someone unprovoked acting like a damn child. Also, with the whole Ares talking shit to Hades and stepping towards him that would be great if we had the option to have our powers go out of control as a warning that we will attack Ares if he attacks Hades. Or maybe a shield could be the power instead.

I would also like to say “With everything I’ve been through in my life I don’t need your bitchy tone of voice and childish attitudes when I’ve done nothing to deserve it. Grow the fuck up.” after all of the above stuff has mentioned.

Two - Honestly whatever you write based on what you want the game to feature and some of the other commentators questions they want to ask that you may or may not implement. I just don’t personally have any questions for them at the moment that I could think of.

Third - What inspired his Houdini disappearance act? Not in a judgmental or angry tone, but just curious cause I’m not mad. I would want a detailed explanation. I want to also ask if maybe he has any pictures of Priscilla, what her personality was like, why do some people hate her, and where she is currently residing.

Four - Choice based, although it honestly depends on who the person is and I have a feeling I won’t care for that person dying, but still the option would be better than it being randomized.

Fifth - Spend time with Hades playing games! Sharing each other’s hobbies and him asking personal questions about myself and vice versa. I want us to be alone as well…no Aeson, Persephone, not even Athena popping in unexpectedly. I want to be able to maybe buy a camera and take pictures of the people and scenery. Maybe we could train and hang out with Athena as well. Also, could we go buy a weapon? Unless we’ll be able to keep the weapons we receive from the trial.

  1. When interacting with the Gods (or anyone else) my only wish is to play the “bitch in sheep clothing” trope.
My MC tries to be charming and nice to everyone in order to get benefits. But at the same time she is very distrusful and holds eternal grudges as a result of her past. Any choice that allows us to be two-faced and keeps our secret motivations is greatly welcomed.

  2. I don’t think the issue were the questions. The biggest advice I can give is to have both the MC and the NPC ask questions. That’s how a real conversation goes when you are meeting someone. Otherwise it does feel like some type of one-sided interview. I agree with our friend @DreamingGames here. Guenevere does this perfectly on your first night with Arthur.

  3. Mmmm…I don’t remember exactly the questions that are already in the game. Asking their opinion about your kidnapping is nice. As well as their opinion about your future living as the Essence (after the war). Or just what do they want to happen after the war.
And again, my MC just wants to fake being daddy’s girl.

  4. Accumulation of choices. Especially if we can’t save the game, dying out of nowhere is a classic player nightmare.

  5. My MC wants to investigate. As I mentioned before, she is quite paranoid. She will definitely go out there to try and dig something about the possessed seekers, the secret agendas of the Gods, the Essence etc. Do some spying and eavesdropping. Snatch some forbidden books. Anything like that.
Having someone as a partner in crime could be a nice option for budding.
Oh, and meeting Nephilim is a must. He seems to know things. And we wanna know things too.

  1. My demigod is a goody-two shoes. It might make some people sick here. :joy: Besides wanting to live she will fight Kronos because she believes defeating him will save the world.

  2. All the suggestions you mentioned I would be interested in. Especially the last one. Oh, I would ask their opinion about the other contestants of the trial. I think, since my demigod is a humanitarian, she would ask the ROs or the other contestants if they would find a way to end the trial without anyone dying.

  3. I like your suggestions. About what I would like to know about Priscilla. What did our father like and dislike about her. What did she actually do as the prophet/seer? Did she live a “modern life” outside being the prophet/seer? How did she first meet the Olympians? Would it be possible for the demigod to meet her? Or at least take a look at her.

  4. I rather it be an accumulation of choices than random. That makes more sense to me if you have to do because it’s plot related. Leaving it random would leave a bad taste in people’s mouths, I believe.

Honestly, I wish I won’t be able to encounter this but do what you believe is right. :joy:

  1. I would like the demigod to be able to make more friends. You can interweave it with training, study, sightseeing. Maybe getting a part time job would be nice too to earn money. :joy: While the trials are going on are there other activities going on? I was thinking of something school related but events outside school would be nice too.
I would like to spend time with the other gods. Especially the ones who opted to spare us; I want to know why they believe in us. This might be scary but I would like to ask the gods against us why they it’s better for us to be destroyed. Hmm, these last two should probably go to question 1 but I thought of them now. :joy: I’m curious why Hermes is willing to take a chance despite what happened to his son. I’d also really like to ask Ares why he wants us destroyed so badly, besides the obvious reason, without giving us a chance? I

You know been keeping an eye on this thread , so much hate for gods and goddess that we didn’t even interact with, but i notice, most of you have decide that our fathers are right and that where the problem is, are fathers are biggest whore around, they are reason why there is so many problems… When i look at Hera i don’t see evil bitch goddess who bent on jealous, i see hurt woman who has been backstab and her heart broken so many times and not just by her husband, but her kids as well. when i look at Aphrodite, i see more then just the beauty, i see a women who have so much to give and all others want is to have her as eye candy. Our aunt/mother is solid smart and wise if keep her in lop of things there no way she would turn on us. which bring down her normal partner in crime who has missing Athena, She is much like her father, but think most don’t know she best of Zeus and looking for away dethrone Aires, with MC help it can be done So here my 2017 dream team or Team Gaia the name of My MC :innocent:

Hm, the only one’s I’ve seen get hate without concrete information is Hermes and it’s more of a speculation with a tinge of anger. I don’t remember if there’s been any others though. I think Hestia and Hephaestus have no care for our lives either, but it’s been a while since I’ve played. The only people that are cool with us during the meeting is Artemis, Apollo, Hermes, Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter.

I mean…if they wanna spread their bodies all over and share it with everyone then that’s their prerogative. Plus, them sleeping around with people isn’t a problem that has a lot of impact in the game when it comes to the MC so far to my knowledge.

I don’t think she’s jealous of us, but I do think she’s taking her anger out on us when she should be directing that anger towards her husband. She shouldn’t even have the mindset to threaten us while she’s also wanting our help. Plus, she did so for no reason. How did her children break her heart?

Hermes oversees the Seekers; whatever was happening to them, he knew about it. There’s no way he was in the dark.

Rohie said tht the reason Hera was such a dickhole to us was because she didn’t know whether or not Zeus was our father. She was being a bitch just because of the possibility that Zeus may have been giving it to Priscilla on the down low lmfao. It’s somehow supposed to be our fault we were conceived? Were we supposed to send her a sorry card and an apologetic teddy frm the womb? ‘Sorry your husband is a bastard and sorry you’re such a musty, bitter bitch abt it!’ Also, see: Hera and Hephaestus. Sorry, she’s literally my least favourite goddess. I can’t reconcile with Hera. + If Saint is a demigod (I’m still a little suspicious of his parentage, TBH) then Zeus was sleeping with Priscilla and Hera was right (but it’s hard to be wrong when the q is ‘is Zeus cheating on me?’)

Ooh, okay. I thought that was more speculation than proof. Well, maybe Cronus possessed only a few of them and the rest Hermes has no knowledge of? He could possibly know and had already informed the other God’s and Goddesses but they’re keeping it on the low? Maybe he doesn’t know what to do about it? I need more information before I look at him side ways but I’ll remain suspecious.

Right! She really needs to take that shit up with her husband because we didn’t cheat on her and have multiple children on the side. His shriveled dick did. Haha, you said “Musty, bitter bitch.” :joy:

Yeah, that won’t be happening with my MC either. She went too far, too quick.

I wonder if that could be the reason as to why Zeus doesn’t interact with Saint? He did his dirty deeds and maybe Hera is like “I wish you would be fatherly towards that boy. Try me.”

  1. I would like at least a choice that simply neutral and questioning when possibly confronting Hera (or the others). I feel like for all the possible aggressiveness the Bearer can show during the situation, it is a person who reacts in a rather most neutral way, who has no really love or hate toward the Gods, that would come off as the most unnerving for them (in particular Hera herself) since it could make a Bearer come off as very unpredictable. That, or have the Bearer just completely ignore her and continue talking with Zeus about the Trials; if she angrily demands if they heard her, they could give her a look and simply say "I did; I just don’t care’ or tell her that her attempts to intimidate them/trying to get them in conflict with another God were surprisingly amateurish and that she should consider talking to Aphrodite for tips on how to do passive-aggressive combat more effectively.

As for how the Bearer can try and defend themselves, honestly, I think an option to simply be like ‘think what you want to believe; I’ll just keep doing my own thing’ would be nice. Evander would just shrug to himself since he’d feel like the Gods who oppose him have the right to do so, not feeling a need to have to prove anything to complete strangers, though he would also ask what exactly makes them opposed to him joining simply out of curiosity before casually moving the conversation on. Damon wouldn’t care enough to prove anything to the opposed Gods nor does is he interested in involving himself in whatever conflict the Gods are obviously having with each other; heck he’d just flat-out ignore them and continue conversing with Zeus to make sure the Trials are going to be challenging and interesting.

As for the choice to possibly bargain, I think freedom could possibly be a good choice for one of the Bearer’s possible desires. Like the Bearer doesn’t really want any material; much like the choice that says they hold no opinion toward the Gods and just wish to live their life and that self-question they bring to themselves ‘Will I ever get a moment to truly live in peace’, the Bearer could simply asked to be left in peace to do just that once the conflict is fully over.

That said, it would also be interesting to possibly be given a choice on how to react when the Gods are facing each other and tension are running at their highest. Would a Bearer stand frozen in place due to caution or indecision toward the situation before them? Would they quickly in front of their Uncle, glaring dauntlessly at Ares due to feeling protective of a family member/innocents or not wanting to rely on the Gods too much to handle conflicts? Do they try to stop the conflict taking place by easing the tensions possibly with their best skill or impulsively using their Essence in the same way they can do when Sage, Santiago, and Cally are arguing?

  1. Maybe ask things about things, like how Donny got into blacksmithing and what he likes the most about it or what got Cally first interested in Artemis’ Hunters (or just about the Artemis Hunters in general) and the most interesting thing she had ever managed to catch. Asking about family in general can naturally lead to them talking about their Godly Parent, along with any other questions that seem similar at their base core. Maybe give a chance to ask about what they would be doing if there wasn’t the Hero trials to worry about.

I think it’s still a little too soon for the Bearer to ask anyone about how others see them; they still don’t really know one another enough for too solid and if anything, it feels like a question that should be asked when the Bearer is with someone in a more semi-private setting rather than in the middle of a dance with thousands of people around.

  1. Maybe make combine the questions that feel the most similar in nature questions and combine the question that brings up Priscilla, and giving the Bearer a chance to ask one thing about her to their Father. Possibly knowing how they felt about the Bearer’s kidnapping would be nice to know too (though I imagine Zeus or Poseidon may have a not too great reaction when remembering the day the Bearer was hidden away by Athena).

  2. Hard to choose. On one hand, having the possible event happen due to the Bearer’s choices could really hit a person in the face about the severity of the situation and how they should really consider the ramifications of their actions as a Hero Candidate. On the other hand, having it be a random event could be equally as powerful, as it could show that even the Bearer has their limits in terms of what they can do, possibly humanizing them more in the eyes of others. Like the scene in Last Airbender during the Siege of the North Part 1, when Aang returns, visibly overwhelmed by the sheer numbers he saw that are coming to invade, and openly admits that he can’t handle such a force with his own powers. When the Princess say, ‘but you have to; you’re the Avatar’, he replies softly ‘I’m just one kid’, before curling into himself and saying no more on the situation for a while.

I’ll think about it more, but those are my current thoughts on the matter.

  1. Just about anything really. Being able to interact with one of the Twelve in general sounds like it could be possibly insightful. Being able to play with kids again would be nice as well (though it could possibly lead to a hilarious situation if the group of kids just get larger and larger the more the Bearer hangs out with them). Maybe even having a time to let the Bearer devote themselves a bit to a hobby or work alongside the teachers to make sure they’re caught up on work too.

I’d say maybe give the Bearer a chance to contact possible friends who they met during their time on the run to let them know that they’re doing fine, but the running situation is pretty ambiguous to what had occurred during the run, including to things like them possibly making connections with others beyond their jobs despite being on the move so much.

I just want to lie to the gods, ask for a reward of course so that i don’t seem suspicious. All the while i plot to achieve total domination over them and the world.

I think after the Sage superspeed incident nobody close to us is under any delusions as to our (lack of) capabilities. I don’t see what is to be gained from having another humiliating experience along those lines in front of the Olympus general public, all that would do is make us look like even more a weakling and a loser compared to Aeson in particular.

  1. ) How about bargaining for the resurrection of our old gf/bf/friend? My MC certainly isn’t over that, especially since he blames the Gods for everything that has happened, uninformed or not. I also think it would be nice with an option to be neutral or at least unemotional to Hades and Athena revealing themselves.

2.) I definitely would like the option to ask Saint/Aeson if our shared father changes anything between us. Even though the players know that the demigods don’t share DNA or whatever doesn’t mean the MC does.

3.) Hoo boy, as someone who always has Hades as the father there are a lot of questions for him. If he truly loves Persephone, why did he cheat on her not once but TWICE with mortal women at the same time? Did Hades actually love Priscilla, or was she just an incubator for us? Did Priscilla love us? Why didn’t he tell us he’s our father, (and after finding our about Aeson,) why did he tell Aeson but not us? Did he leave us to take care of Aeson because he’s the favourite child?
Also, I would REALLY like the option of saying something along the lines of “You weren’t my father when it would’ve mattered, so I hardly think you deserve to call yourself that now” regardless of who our father is.

4.) Considering the fact that we won’t have a save feature later on, I definitely think randomising it would be bad, considering people would have to start over from the very beginning if they dislike the randomised results.

5.) Personally, I’d like to visit that sorcerer from the beginning. Or, if Priscilla is alive, try to contact her.

Do you truly think the gods would accept someone as dangerous as the Bearer standing around after the war? With immortality too? Even if you don’t wish to overthrow them, this is Zeus we are speaking about. Not even going into the other gods when speaking about paranoia. Two tigers cannot live on the same mountain, and if one of them behaves like a sheep he just makes it easier for the other to kill him.

I want to romance sage but she hates me I just want to ask how to romance her

Well, the romances will develop later in the game. There is not much lovey-dovey content at the moment. Especially with Sage for very obvious reasons.
But logic tells me that it should be pretty easy to romance her if MC is innocent. Just avoid the options that are obviously aggressive and hostile towards her. Choose strategies that she likes. When given the option to pass the time with somebody, pick her. Save her if she is in danger.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
It’s the default way of rising relationship points with 99% of the characters, really.
I don’t know how @Rohie plans to handle the other option tho (MC did kill her brother). It might be a deal-breaker thing. Or maybe she forgives you once she understands the whole possession- thingy and you show her deep remorse.
But anyways, the Sage romance will probably be the slowest one to develop by comparison. It doesn’t make much sense otherwise.

My MC would be very pissed. He would go on a rampage about how he was hunted all of his life because of them. He would not hold his anger back. And the distrust? He’d do nothing to defend himself. why would he? They are right to distrust him. He wants them to pay for their mistakes. And he is not shy about it.

Well, my MC would like to sit and have a serious conversation with Sage. Not only to explain why he had to kill her brother but also to apologize for doing it. Damn, if it were up to him he’d put a knife against his throat and ask Sage to push it. Just to show how serious he is about apologizing. He would also like to ask Sage her opinion on the gods. He would not ever trust the gods, but he would trust her (and probably only her) telling him to trust them. Why? Because everyone either fears him or reveres him, but Sage was the only one that didn’t care about him being the Essence.
And he’d like to simply hear about her, obviously.

None. He doesnt’ consider him his father so why would he care? Same goes to Priscilla, he didn’t even met the woman so why bother? And the only “family” he ever had was a make-believe so he doesn’t care about them either.

Well, accumulation of choices, obviously. What’s the point if my choices don’t matter?

Training. Some hardcore training would be nice. Oh, also finding a way to get out of Olympus, my MC will always see that place as a cage.

I played through the game (again). I have a question about your approach to the protogonoi. Are you going to include all of them? You mentioned them all when Zeus has his “before there was life…” speech. All of them but Erebus. Is there a reason for that? In mythology, he is mentioned either as Nyx’s consort, or her brother (depending on what your source is). They both have very similar purposes. Nyx is the goddess of night, and Erebus is the god of darkness. Also, here’s a bit of irony: they create Hemera (Day), and Aether (Brightness).

Another question: I know you said that Nyx would be making an appearance at some point, but will the other primordial gods be making appearances as well? It’d be interesting to see who they side with (I have a feeling that Eros would be the only one supporting the Olympian gods). It’d also be interesting if any of them visited the MC while they are running from the Seekers (who are probably being possessed by Cronus, but honestly all the gods are snakes so who knows). Like if they visited the MC to try and turn them against the gods before they were brought to Olympus?

I would want to interrogate Hermes on why his Seekers have been trying to kill me. There is no way in hell that he didn’t notice something was wrong. In fact, there is no way in hell that any of the gods didn’t notice that something was wrong. My main MC, Nyx, would probably yell at Hermes for putting her through all of this. I can picture her laughing and saying something like: “You expect me to help you? After your Seekers have been terrorizing me and trying to kill me? What have you been doing up here? Sitting in your throne with your dick in your hand?! And now you want me to help you? Please help us Nyx, we need to defeat Cronus! You’re pathetic.” I think that she’d use quite a bit of profanity. Not in a way that seems overdone, or exaggerated, but in a way that makes her point clear to the gods.

And when Hera and Ares threaten us, I’d have her laugh again and be like, “You’re gonna kill me? Is this a joke? Please, tell me this a joke, and that you are not this stupid. Good luck winning in a battle against Cronus without my help!” Oh, the look on their faces would be priceless. And after that? My MC would walk out. Because honestly, what is keeping her there? Nothing. She’s already lost everything - either because they took it away, or because they did nothing to help her. She has nothing to lose. She has no reason to help them. They don’t care about her. And she knows it. She won’t help them until they beg her to. All she wants is immortality, and to see them humiliate themselves in front of her.

I would honestly love if other characters asked us questions. Our answers could build or damage our relationship with them, and our reputation with the citizens.

Nyx is only interested in pursuing Santiago as an RO. He’s the only one that seems interesting to her. Everyone else is being controlled by the gods. I think that if she asked too many questions when they first meet, their relationship would be damaged. Because I don’t think he would be interested in someone who, like everyone else, wants to know his secrets and wants his approval. I think she would flirt with him, and tease him, and let him pursue her. He seems the type to become bored by things that are easy. The only things I think she would ask about are generic questions like “Why do you hang out with these people if they’re so boring?”.

Ah, and now we get to the classic daddy issues. Nyx would just want to know how her mother died, and why Hades lets everyone push him around. The last question she would ask because she truly doesn’t understand, and also because asking this question would make him a bit more antagonistic towards the other gods and mess with his head a bit. I wouldn’t ask for his opinion on Athena’s kidnapping because he’s biased on that issue, considering how he met Persephone, and the weird romantic tension he has with Athena.

I hope it’s Sage. That would cause quite a bit of drama for the MC. People would spread rumors that they did it, and depending on who witnessed it, you can’t defend yourself against that.

And honestly? I might be interested in a random occurrence thing. Death isn’t something we control (regardless of the MC’s father). How would our choices make a difference? If someone dies during the trial, it’s their own fault (unless our MC is the one killing them, or deliberately trying to arrange it so someone dies).

I just want my MC to bond with Nephilim and Santiago. Also - would training at school (it’s a required class) raise our Strength stat? Depending on our performance during the class? And training outside of school would raise it even more as the story progresses? How would we train our Essence? With Aeson? Would Nephilim have some tips for us, if we gain his approval? Could we use that approval to get our hands on some artifacts? Also - at school, could we have social options? Where our choices raise or lower our reputation and the way characters interact with us? For example: Nyx has a high Charm stat. It’d be interesting to see her use this skill in situations with other students. Maybe she could even use it to get them to do questionable things for her? Maybe other kids would do our homework if we scare/persuade them enough.

If you couldn’t tell already, Nyx has severe trust issues, is manipulative, and pragmatic. I love playing through as a MC that has an anti-hero vibe about them.

PS: Back to the Erebus thing - is there a possibility of that being a name for male MCs?

I hardly doubt That homework would be part of the game at all. Due we are first in middle of hunger games and after that in the middle of a Titans war.

And I doubt Erebus would be a part of it due there is already 12 main gods Chronus, and some titan . The demigods… Erebus is not so important. But I agree Erebus could be a good name.
