Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Yeah indestructible but if we need positive emotions in order to make beneficial changes to our appearance then my mc is in trouble. As he really doesn’t want to look like Volmemort.

And what if we change ourselves to an alien who might feel and perceive emotions differently than human baseline or indeed a super-computer (which we may now apparently be able to do after we receive the essence), what then?

You control all matter and the fundamental elements of the universe. You can make yourself be the most beautiful human being in all existence if you want. Or a kiddie pool cos you’re so shallow.

My guy has been numb this entire time.
Uncles leaving? Meh
Girlfriend dies? It was unavoidable.
Meets long lost family? How long until this reunion is over.
Though with a friendly persona. I like my magician, he’s a fun guy to be around.

@ParrotWatcher… Final boss: Your dead boyfriend. Save the world and erase him from existence or die and go to Tarterus. The choice is easy right? Though I would like some zombie minions as a Hades kid. Dead money daddy is the best.

I feel like there is a Pluto joke around with the Hades love though…

@idonotlikeusernames but we just got definite confirmation we can change ourselves… and you’d have the essence, you’d be the better brother of the three, and Saint wouldn’t be immortal unless you made him. You’d have one brother for eternity. And that’s if we don’t fix that, though there’d be nothing to fix for me.

Not if our “power” is emotion dependent, particularly since the longer he is on Olympus the more my mc is developing a hatred for the Essence itself.

You’ll need the Essence after all to conjure up enough ointment for that burn.

Hmm; that seems like more of the path for an Emo Mara type MC who loves to manipulate people, but I’m pretty sure there are some psychopathic MC’s who’d want to subjugate the entire place and cause them all pain. Strong powers that apparently result in strong emotions would really help there.

It’s not in the nature of a psychopath to be subtle if there’s little in it for them, so if you don’t need to pander to anybody anymore, I would think a psychopath of all people would prefer the destructive versions.

It doesn’t need to be emotions, emotions are some of the most powerful things you can channel. You could anchor your powers on logical assessment and other things most likely. You need to open your mind to the fact you are the Alpha and Omega, the be all and end all. You have the ability to literally make people crap rainbows if you want and they’ll have to do it.

Remind me to never play any of your games… :expressionless: (Can I at least take him with me to Tartarus? For company?)

You’d only hear his screaming from his torment, plus you’d never talk to him, so yes of course. I’m like Cupid aren’t I?

I probably wouldn’t have the patience to write a decent sized game. Plus there’d be a million bad endings while going on a power trip anyway (all the bad stuff would happen to your friends instead) I’d make sure to invite you specifically though

Do we spend any time in the underworld between reincarnations? @Rohie

Besides, if the Essence is that powerful, there would surely be another option, right? Right?

(And if not, then I suppose I could just try to break the cycle of reincarnation, and let my MC die to be with him…)

You’re really obsessed with a guy you’ve seen one date of aren’t you?

Actually I hope he only comes back if you romance someone else.

You betrayed me!

Boss fight

Seriously there are other fish in the sea, Santiago seems nice, Adonis or Aeson your soul mate who could be immortal with you, I prefer Sage though, Avery’s 2nd place only because I’d prefer a battle couple and her name. Calypso, I wouldn’t want to mess up her Artemis hunter dream. :innocent:

To me, he’s a character in a story. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

To my MC, he’s the tragically lost love that he’d go to the ends of the earth for (and beyond). (And I kinda hope that there’s going to be an ending where my MC can be happy…)

Ugh. Too perfect. Seriously. :unamused: (Besides, in my MC’s eyes, Sawyer was his soul-mate, and he’s not going to let anyone else tell him differently.)

So Aeson is perfect so you hate him, but whats-his-face is perfect so he’s good?

He’s been nothing but nice so I like him as far as my mc “likes” someone anyway, though he’s got a brotherly advantage.

Had the MC only been on one date with them, or do you mean the fact that we as the reader have only seen one date?

Which makes him insufferable, also my mc’s “brother” and daddy’s favourite. But my mc is markedly different from @ParrotWatcher’s one in that he will always mourn Sawyer he knows there is no truly bringing people back from the dead. Poor Sawyer would be start raving mad from the horrors of the underworld for example, so whatever “returns” wouldn’t be the Sawyer he once knew and I guess much like with “uncle” Henry he vastly prefers the happy memory to the uncaring reality..

I can’t speak for @ParrotWatcher or his mc but most hatred is by definition irrational, it can also be next to impossible to let go of. And my mc has his own reasons to dislike his perfect “brother”.

Saw one date.

@idonotlikeusernames but there’s myths of dead coming back to life and the underworld has the closest thing to heaven in Greek Myths besides Olympus. Heck if he goes insane from being dead he probably didn’t wind up in the underworld…

My mc is along the lines of I’ll bring her (I don’t even remember her name) back if it’s convenient for me.

Hmm; I was wondering if I missed something. Either way, it’s strangely easy to become attached to people we’ve seen very little of if they’re important to the main character; we play the MC, so we take on the emotional connection, mayhaps.

Or maybe we see them for such a fleeting moment that there isn’t any time to highlight any flaws of theirs, so we’re forever left with the impression that they caused the MC happiness. Too high a bar for any realistic person to live up to, but again all we have are the positives, so we may be more inclined to become attached to them.

My MC doesn’t hate Aeson. He just seems a bit over-the-top-perfect, which can get a little boring. And Sawyer certainly wasn’t perfect, but to my MC…

I find it hard to attach myself to characters, I just pick a character I like based on design or personality to stick with, I won’t particularly care if it turns into a tragedy for them.

@Ruin not lofty goals at all…
@ParrotWatcher You met him once…

Me =/= My MC. I don’t know Sawyer from Adam, but I do know that my MC is (or was) in love with him, so he must have done something right. Maybe it’s not healthy for my MC to keep obsessing over him, but this isn’t the real world, is it? This is a world where the gods walk amongst mortals, and where primordial Chaos is a rather depressed seventeen-year-old.

Also, I have a habit of falling for characters who were never supposed to be romanceable in the first place. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
