Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

The MC could totally have been King Tut.

Meeting your past selves in future dream sequences, then again when you meet Aeson, in addition to (possibly) attaining The Heart of the Past sums up to a lot of opportunities to find out who you were in the past. Who you were is affected by the stats (of course).

Also, I’ve been referring to the upcoming war against Cronus as “the War” with a capital W and all. Any ideas on names? I always think of one then scrap it a few scenes later.

Ooooh. So basically, you’re always the same person, the same individual, no matter your incarnation, past or future?

Will we have a vision as soon as our eyes meet his? Talk about a first impression.

The Endless/Eternal Struggle —> The Top-Tier Gods can never kill their father, and Cronus can never stop being a murderous power hungry douche. Hence Tartarus. Hence well, the bearer.
The Primordial War…

Yeah, that’s not very good. Sorry I’am french so I’am not so good at comming up with names. Most of those I had just traduced weirdly.

No, you aren’t the same person at all. If you were x race or gender now and back then other, You can’t be the same. Due you are human being also your childhood, morality and all that changes.

I meant more like your personnality.

Not your body, your race or your gender or your background. I assumed that part changed every time you’re born. Sorry for the confusion.

I hardly doubt any of my characters previous incarnations were similar. If not who in hell would want bring her back? they are a little bit afraid of her power, it is true. However, It doesn’t have sense bring it back the creator that wants to kill all of you and won’t rest until see your fall.

But if your current stats change your past self, it brings up interesting questions : It means that you’re are not just a vessel but the very embodiment of the Essence. Before that I imagined you were more of a container capable of wielding it.

It also implies there is a certain concistency in your morality, in your choices. So shouldn’t the gods kinda know what to expect from you?

I think you’ve got the right idea. When you’re with Nephlim, he makes several comments that imply he’s known you in past lives before.

“Always the logical one, Lavei.” Comes to mind. I think it’s mildly amusing, and telling of some of the gods’ reactions, if that’s the case (And I’m hoping it is). It makes a certain sort of sense with the individual interactions we’ve had with the Gods so far. No one in their right MIND would dream of defying Demeter, and if your character is distrustful of the Gods over many incarnations, she’s probably been through varying incarnations of your distrust from the get-go. Heck, it might even be how she’s come to understand anger and hate through mortals.

And your defiance, and the gods noting of it, takes on something of an amusing implication. I can just imagine some of the gods’ conversations after you left your summit:
“THIS is really our Champion, Zeus? She shows absolutely NO respect, let alone a desire to champion our cause.”

“To be fair, at least this one was better than the Irish incarnation. She gave no one but Dionysus her ear, and remember her. . .candid conversation with Ares concerning his affairs with Aphrodite? I don’t think any mortal yet has come up with so many colorful metaphors for impotence.”
Real talk, @Rohie, will we be able to hug our MC’s Father once it’s revealed who they are? I want to hug Poseidon. I would include Hades in that, but we already get to hug him for being our pretend Uncle.

meh, thats the ro i was most interested both for history wise and fun :smirk:

meeh then not interested :unamused:

@Rohie, you can always call it the Second Titanomachy or the War for the Essence. Also Titan followers and Olympian followers would call it different things.

The War seems like a fair name. It’s short, vague, and to the point. As @Bryce_Kaldwin proposed, the Second Titanomarchy is also a good choice, I think

I’m really pumped to see who we were in past lives. On that note, Joan of Arc lived to 19 the perfect age for the MC.

I really like @Bryce_Kaldwin suggestion
the Second Titanomachy

I’ll muck over more names, but the Second Titanomachy sounds most fitting. I like the ring of it, very doom-and-gloom.

Regarding your past lives: Yes, you’ve been in contact with the Gods before, in what sense, I’ll explain later. But it’s not as if they didn’t know you were alive, it’s simply that they’ve never been able to figure out who you were reincarnated into, and by the time they did, you were already near the end of your cycle. Thanks to a certain God, they were able to track you down just before your re-birth and intervene.

What I meant by the stats deciding who you were: For example, if you had like 70% strength, you’d be visited by WW ll solider you first. They could be totally different because they have lived a life separate from you, with their own memories and experiences. It’s still you in every life, it’s just that you grow up in a different environment nearly every time (nature vs. nurture) which can drastically influence your personality. The Gods never know what to expect.

And Nephlim was making a joke at your expense with the whole “You were always the logical one, Lavei.”. You’ll get to pick his brain if you chose to find him in Ch3.

Nephilim says my character is like some woman ("you are just like her "), we will find about who he is taking?

It’s Saint who says that if you two don’t get along, and yes, you will find out. But I think if you read Ch3 closer, you’ll see who he means.

Okay, silly question! I know the majority of us are probably going to choose to engage Nephlim in order to get a modicum of information not filtered through the gods out of him, but is that choice a “Will you or won’t you” deal? As in, will there be something else to occupy our time in place of meeting up with Nephlim, or will we just flat out ‘not see him’ and continue on with the story?

I thought it was Nephilim.
Now I know who she is.
