No, but of the two Adonis seems like he’s the worse liar at least. That or he simply has a slightly different agenda since he presumably wants to win those trials himself, yes.
Yeah, it is still not fair. Again. He was trained for it. My MC wasn’t.
From an objective standpoint it is not fair to Aeson that he has to depend on my quite unwilling and inexperienced MC espically since he seems to have worked quite hard to cultivate a hero persona.
From my MC’s standpoint it is not fair that she has to compete at all. He is trained for it and she is not. (And she never asked for the reward, mind you. Nor does she want it.)
(I also thinks it needs to be made clearer in the text. It is quite weird that best friend Adonis does not mention Aeson when asked who competes. And apparently Calypso doesn’t either.)
You know when your plan totals to not dying and only offering support to your unofficial teammate who you have an inferiority complex with, and still intend to have him do most of the work I think you deserve to be known as a sidekick.
I doubt we have never been a demigod before out of all of our lives. I think we’d die at the same time without the precious immortality.
True, doesn’t help that they don’t even tell us anything in the week that we’re now consciously wasting in that hospital.
True and my mc very much doesn’t want to be his sidekick.
Again also true for me, though my mc does want to live in order to become a lecherous old pervert someday (and not while he’s just 19. 19 going on 90 really doesn’t appeal to him that much) So I guess my mc’s new plan should he ever get enough intel for it is to make sure that most of the corrupting essence gets dumped into the backup vessel, Saint.
To be fair he also doesn’t want to be the “Hero” he just wants to be a US (community) college kid.
But he certainly isn’t going to follow his perfect “brother’s” orders, that’s for sure.
Also what else can we do? I mean it’s not like we have any training or actual control over our supposed abilities, nor do we have time to learn anything of that at all, since the deathtraps have already started.
It’s not fair, for neither the MC or Aeson tbh. He has also no choice when it comes to take part in the trials or not, and his survival is with MC taking part in it out of his hands (and if we assume that MC has rather bad chances that actually worsens his chances for victory). Even when he has good chances, if MC fucks up he dies. See? Not fair for him either.
Well, what do you think? At least seven years of training, versus nearly three years on the run.
In as far as my mc has any “training” to speak of it is strictly limited to a survival instinct in order to keep himself alive against the odds and not much more then that (otherwise it would have been fun if we really were, or at least could be, the cause of most or all of the dead Seekers).
I believe they say we’ve never been a demigod, though that doesn’t rule out demi-Titan, who knows how long ago and it is also true that only most but not all of our previous incarnations died before they were 19, maybe some really adept ones managed to stumble on a bit longer, perhaps all the way to 25?
i absolutely love the new content, especially since it allows you to see more of santiagao! i think he may have to be my main RO!
another thing i loved about this update was the details and extra backstory added. I was so glad to see mother dearest, she’s exactly how i imagined her I also felt that the first interaction with saint really ran a lot smoother, it made more sense that he was more guarded. The new options for dialuogue also look exciting, it will be nice to really get to know more about the characters around the MC.
congrats on the update, it really is great!
While living to be old would certainly be nice, my MC doesn’t actually mind the reincarnation bits. She would like the immortality, but is not sure that her current incarnation is the best candidate for it. After all she is aware that she is messed up and part of her thinks that a clean slate without all the trauma would be nice.Espically when she compares herself to Leon who held himself together much better than she does now.
The only reason she had not committed suicide by rage against the gods yet is that she would quite like to take the gods out. They messed with Leon’s life, they messed with hers and they will quite possible with mess with the future incarnations if they are allowed to rule. So she is looking for a way to commit deicide.
(On a more emotional level she also wants revenge on the hunters, but she is not quite willing to admit that).
Well you do have wizard training that you use much more reliably in this version.
Plus I feel much worse for Aeson than for your mc at this point. He has to worry for himself and you who not only is trying to make most of the gods know about your hate but also is trying to rely on him while not trying to help and being deliberately disobedient despite self admitted low combat experience. And your self loathed crush on him. He’ll probably think something along the lines of this is the end of me.
My mc doesn’t care about the immortality in particular (it’s nice but he reincarnates anyway) he just wants the essence.
It’s a bit different for my mc since he refuses to give up nowafter enduring those three years of being hunted, if he was going to commit suicide he’d presumably have done it after the first time he sold himself for money, or some equally questionably thing he did while on the run. But since he didn’t it can’t all have been for nothing and while he may not look as good as either his perfect “brother” Aeson or even his other “brother” Saint for a mortal he’s still pretty good looking and since he wanted to become a scientist instead of go into the modelling business it won’t matter as much if he ever gets away from Olympus again. What stings is being the shortest and ugliest compared to his brothers in relative terms, not so much his current appearance in absolute terms.
Yes, poor, pretty perfect Aeson. Sure the Gods regularly put him through a lot of crap too, though I doubt it compares to the shit they put my mc through during those three years just to stay barely alive, but at least he already got some rewards for it, my mc has got exactly nothing out of it thus far, except for his pretty miserable life.
Mostly Hermes (for failing to oversee his Seekers) and “Daddy Hades” actually with a bit it reserved for Zeus (for not overseeing Hermes who oversees the little killers properly). He doesn’t want to hate Ares for example and he’d be fine with being friends with benefits with the guy. He also wants to like “Auntie” again, though he doesn’t quite trust her for now.
Of course Persephone is bringing my mc’s dislike upon herself, as is Aphrodite currently.
I think my mc actively trying to stay alive is all the help he can really count on, considering my mc’s abysmal level of training and next to non-existent “control” over his supposed powers, along with not having any good intel to actually act on.
It’s not like my mc will ever act on that so that’s really much worse for my mc. It’s going to take decades of therapy if he ever gets back to the real world to come to terms with that.
But we never get to experience a mid-life crisis or be a lecherous old pervert (like I said 19 going on 90 in appearance doesn’t count) and since my mc’s teenage years have been crap and his twenties will likely have to be spend in a combination of therapy, crappy jobs and making up missed highschool and college opportunities he wants his other decades to have fun this lifetime, dammit!
Besides he wants to be more than just a child and a teenager for once.
Why should he? We’re untrained and pathetic at this point and we’ll likely die before we become any kind of threat to him. Even getting the full essence is not guaranteed to help here as we won’t have a frigging clue how to use it.
Question you know how Aeson said you guys dont feel each other pain when it comes to scars and stuff but say your on life support and they lose you for a moment does Aeson die for a sec or so too. Because if so im okay with that because if Aeson keeps being a hot shot, my mc going start going crazy.
And am i the only one who wants to beat Santiago, i dont care if thats just his personality but he better act like he has common sense talking to the bearer like that.
This thread about the new content of Saint got me feeling different towards him.
Well, MCs the creator of everything, apparently. That seems like a big deal. As for the pathetic, speak for yourself. So far my chick’s been hitting nothing but net (… Except the Benji net…) She won that one fight even though she’s got noodle arms. She’s got her pick of a crazy hot guy, a hot badass girl, and everyone’s beloved golden boy. And she’s tight with Athena, Demeter, and Hades. (Your MC can have daddy issues with Hades if he wants. Mine doesn’t.)
Even if you feel like your life is worse and that he’s better than you at everything, I’d still feel worse for him, he worked hard for a good life for it to be put in jeopardy by you. And besides you control your powers much more reliably here. You can afford to pull your own weight.
Santiago is a nice guy. I have no problem with him.
Whereas my mc had to work hard just to stay alive, since it’s not like those packs of little murderers would let him build any kind of even vaguely good life anywhere.
Santiago is an arrogant, frigid jerk of an ice King, and while that would be incredibly attractive to some of my other mc’s it doesn’t work that well for my mc here in his circumstances.
We can use them more often, I won’t say our control over them is anywhere near reliable though and we are still very limited in what we can actually do. We still can’t fight with magic in the training session on Olympus and we still can’t use anything other then a shield spell against Saxon, nor can we actually, reliably use our own magic to fight Saint’s little pack of killers.
Oh and of course we still haven’t been trained in any sort of combat, or how to use our supposed demigod abilities here.
We are still severely handicapped against our fully trained competition. All the new update gives me hope for is that my mc can maybe figure out a way to stay barely alive through those deathtrap “trials”, but not much more then that.
I don’t know you were able to get a job and had regular access to their (seeker’s) weapons and plenty of opportunities to get stronger fighting them. Maybe you just need to be more of a psycho to have a good experience.
Plus if it was so bad you could’ve died. Beside how would you feel if someone messed up your happy ending or stopped you at the last moment before getting to it?[quote=“idonotlikeusernames, post:8459, topic:15482”]

FTY, besides you’re self taught in magic and warriors in combat we have the element of surprise.
I would say the great big feats are still pretty random but you still can do what seems like normal magic pretty reliably, I mean you even use it to show off at this point.
You mean had to take a job in order to survive. This wasn’t a fun summer vacation job for a bit of extra spending money thing and it now comes at the cost of not having an actual education anymore.
Yes, but nobody to train us in actually using them, or at least no spare time to do so. To the extent that my mc had any “training” it was barely enough to pry magical artifacts away from mere mortals, not to compete in deathtrap trials against the most formidable of the current crop of demigods.
I’d love for my character to have been that, but so far the only Seeker we can really kill ourselves is still just Saxon, we’re still not actually responsible for the deaths of the any of the rest of them.
That will work during those trials exactly once, after that our competitors will know and the element of surprise will be gone, which is a valid reason not to use it during the training sessions or to show off, but not in those other occasions against Saint and Saxon, where we actually have every reason to believe we’re fighting for our lives.
Our degree of actual control over our powers is still not that encouraging to me (certainly not compared to Aeson, we do not have as much precision control over our “magic” ever as that guy casually demonstrates), not to mention that we still seem to get weaker, instead of stronger after that coma.
Yes, as random, and therefore unreliable as ever and certainly still not something we can build a coherent strategy around.
To be fair until she knew about the essence thing my MC would never contemplate dying either. After all she is proud of her survival instincts and what she accomplished. But part of her is nostalic after the sweet, idealistic and optimistic girl she used to be. Who dreamt of understanding her power and sharing it with everyone.
She just can’t see how she can be that girl with what she had been through, but maybe the next incarnation could. Of course if she actually does start to heal, just a little, she might change her tune again. No matter how much Nyx like to pretend she is detached and logical, she is quite emotional and volatile. (Blame it on never getting any therapists when her girlfriend was murdered.)
Out of curiosity which strategies are everyone going for? Nyx are going the lone route, since that seems to be the one without any moral penalties in either directions.
Well since my mc’s secondary stat is still allure, for better or worse, he’s going for cunning. He’ll use the others, but not as friends, as temporary allies as best and he won’t hesitate to kill any of them (except for Aeson and Saint, for obvious reasons), should that prove to be the most expedient course of action at any point.
Who needs an education with our wit scores? Besides we still got one at the end anyway, an advanced one at that.[quote=“idonotlikeusernames, post:8461, topic:15482”]
I’d love for my character to have been that, but so far the only Seeker we can really kill ourselves is still just Saxon, we’re still not actually responsible for the deaths of the any of the rest of them.

I meant be more of an indifferent person not a violent psycho necessarily, since emotion seems to be your primary character flaw. [quote=“idonotlikeusernames, post:8461, topic:15482”]

You can still plan using the magic you can use reliably, planning survival on something random is irresponsible but it’s nice to have.
I doubt all your competitors will know unless we are doing it hunger games style with cameras. Plus you could just limit yourself then anyway. I doubt you’ll need the random burst of power for every single person you face.
Regarding strategies I think I have the disadvantage since wit and strength don’t go together.
