Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Well he could always be a introverted social butterfly; a person who socializes with a lot of people but has few friends and still prefers time alone. I could also see Aeson as this too. It’s probably that’s why they’re best friends too. They both understand that a person needs time alone to recuperate from all of the social interactions.

Or so he’d like us to believe, since the Greek Gods supposedly just about invented professional acting my mc isn’t exactly convinced…yet.

Yes, I figured. I guess since I tend to think of someone who is extroverted as forming personal connections with others more often, that he’d have other friends whom he was close to but it seems as though he’s just got the Scooby Gang, for now. Taking into accnt that his romantic relationships all seem facetious, I suppose this makes sense but perhaps he just doesn’t go out of his way to maintain his relationships, or maybe he’s nonreciprocal? With regards to his admirers, he’s quite charming + being Aphrodite’s ‘favourite of the century’ likely entails that he has to maintain some degree of romantic involvement @ any given point. Like sneaking a girl into his room in the middle of the night.

On an unrelated note, ‘Look to the Between for they are the source of your grief’ this line of the prophecy always struck me as being related to the demigods in some sense, as they occupy a sort of middle ground between the Gods and humans. I’ve read that some of you also think it speaks to idea of a messenger (Hermes? we know tht there’s a traitor in our midst), and that also sounds super plausible.

Beyond staying in his forging room, I feel like he’s friendly but until a certain distance? Which is doubled by him being Aphrodite’s kid. Olympus knows how much his mom has pretty much scarred him over trust and intimacy issues (like it’s more pronounced with a romanced Adonis but I feel like it’s still the same boat for a non-romanced Donny)

As for the “between,” maybe it’s referencing Sage (lmao) since she’s both daughter of Hermes and a demi-god :stuck_out_tongue:

Personally though I’ve been thinking that it’s about the possessed Seekers and likely their connection to the Big Bad. But what’s getting me is why Between is capitalised so thinking about this a lot :))

This is my working theory with the “boss” being the capital Between

YAY! At least I’m not alone in thinking this :))

In the mean time, I’m just going to make some doodles on what my MC’s formal wear was (the descriptions were beautiful) ;A;

Actually. I think I might just draw the entire wardrobe choices they go through //doodles out

I wondered abt this too, and the conclusion I came to was that Sawyer might not be dead.
It really is unfathomable, especially considering that is Athena is protective to the extent that she’ll follow you to school that she’d let you return just like that after such a harrowing experience. Perhaps she cast a sort of protection charm on you or something along those lines without your knowing about it? She’s said to have slipped tracking devices into your belongings before without telling you about it, so maybe she acted in the same manner again so as to avoid alarming you further?

If Sawyer isn’t dead, I really hope we’ll get a chance to apologize at the very least since my MC feels immensely guilty about what happened.

Continuing from my earlier post:

I’m still feeling uneasy about the flashback. Aside from its effect on the story’s pacing (and I acknowledge that I have a similarly derailing dream sequence in my own WIP), there are a few other things that seem weird:

"Seventeen summers? You are not even of age.

Given that Diomedes, a contemporary of Leon’s, conquered a city at fourteen, and Achilles’ son Neoptolemus was likely even younger when he helped take Troy, I don’t think the ancient Greeks really had the same views on when people came of age. As I said (much) earlier, it would make perfect sense for Menelaus to question Leon’s obvious lack of experience, but he’s definitely “of age”.

I’m also still worried by the name, too. No other Trojan War character has multiple names; even the two Ajaxes had to be distinguished by epithets, but our character is Leon Antoniou?

I know that you’ve got to change details from the myth, the characters, and the setting to make the flashback fit with your plot, but neither of these seem to have any significance to the story, and both are quite at odds with the setting.

Dressing scene: I note that the dresses are listed first again. I’ve no problem with being allowed to choose a dress, but it almost reads as though my (still male) MC looks at the dress first, and the suit as an after-thought. It would also be nice if we could “cancel” from the intermediate pages, rather than having to select the suit/dress and then cancel, but that’s a minor quibble.

Saint sighs before striding up the stairs, pressing a hand to his head.

Who could be his parent? you wonder.

But he already said it was Zeus (still not entirely convinced, but I’ll have to believe it for now)…

I’m actually liking Santiago, although I can see that he could be quite abrasive to some people.

Talking to Aphrodite:

“About the war,” you begin. “I have a few questions.”

How does she know which war I’m asking about? There’s no reason for her to assume I’m talking about the Trojan War from that question, especially when one of the other options is to ask about the very topical upcoming war.

And I drink Persephone’s drink even after Santiago’s warning… My MC really is far too trusting… (But then Santiago must have drunk, too, so I guess he’s even worse?)

Also agreeing with the people suspicious of Hermes. They seem like a perfect candidate for the traitor.

Yeah, not everyone wants to play a drag queen or gender confused individual. In fact while most of my mc’s like men’s clothes and fashion they’d only give a cursory glance to the women’s clothes.

Santiago would be perfect for some of my mc’s, unfortunately not this one, not after all the crap he’s been through he has no patience for defrosting the ice king and trying to get to the heart of gold underneath the bratty jerk exterior.

Yeah, but when the choices are him, Marty Stu Aeson, and Adonis’ fifteenth relationship that afternoon, the number one choice is definitely Sawyer.

I agree, my mc is too jealous of Aeson (and if we go back to having Hades as our father the mere thought of it would give him years worth of therapy), he’s not in the right mood or mindset to dally with Santiago and who wants to be Adonis’ fling no. 23567?
So, yes, Sawyer is the best boyfriend yet. Though my mc wouldn’t say no to a purely physical relationship or friends with benefits with Ares.

Sucks for you guys @ParrotWatcher and @idonotlikeusernames :frowning: [skips off merrily looking for her Avery]

Very awesome update, I love it even more than before! Having the seekers possibly kill my girlfriend certainly made killing Saxon more reasonable for me to do. And the added Avery time made me so happy, though sad that I couldn’t pull her away from her booth for a quick dance :sob:

Yesssssss. Not enough Avery fans on here! I think she’s adorable. The bumbling blonde doctor is definitely who I’m after too

Lmfao I know right? It’s hard to feel special with him, except for his occasional ( and kinda hypocritical) jealousy. I don’t know if this has changed because my MCs only danced with Aeson and Calypso in the new update, but I didn’t care for him ditching my MC for a group of random girls.

I like Aeson. He’s nice. The only bad thing about him’s the way people worship him and that’s not his fault. I thought the voyeuristic way the cafeteria watched his friendship reunion was super awkward. And weird since no one seemed at all to care about how the Bestower interacted with the (rumored to be murderous) Bearer…

I wish there was an option to rant about BFF Benji after Saint goes off about his seekers. And like, how full of himself is Saint that he thinks he can handle a girl who’s supposedly murdered a ton of his peers singlehandedly?

I’m in love with Calypso’s new hair and appearance in general @Rohie

@Rohie dunno if someone reported this to you, but when i play with the new link in dashington and choose a baby boy and name him, and press next i get to choose a name again but then my character is automatically a baby girl…( however if i choose a baby girl from the start this bug doenst appear… so this bug is only affecting the choice " baby boy")

side note: Oh gosh i love what you are doing with this revision, i love your humour in some choices, i dont usually like revisions since i think the game was pretty good, but now i can say that you are doing even better than before…so congratz rohie.

I’ve posted way too many times today, I apologize, but I loved the new update a lot.

Mm, keeping in mind that Adonis is ‘Aphrodite’s favourite of the century’, I highly doubt he has much of a choice when it comes to his romantic conquests. He’s expected to uphold a certain standard by Aphrodite, imo. + If you don’t romance him, and you ask him to walk you back to your dorm, when you ask if the girl that was in his room earlier was his friend, he tells you that she isn’t. He’s drawn a definitive line between his friends, and the people he pursues romantically. They’re shallow, base-line relationships and he hasn’t ‘connected’ with them @ all in that sense. This is more evident if you romance him, because if you choose to kiss him at the dance his relationship stat reads ‘His heart beats faster when he thinks of you. It’s a frightening experience for him’. It’s frightening, because it’s novel. I don’t think he’s ever pursued someone whom he genuinely liked, and his relationship with the MC is unfamiliar and off-centre in that regard because they’re friends, he likes them and he’s perhaps romantically interested in them. His view on romantic relationships has been shaped by Aphrodite, and that’s not a great place to be. Man, I love Adonis LMAO. You’re obviously free to feel however you’d like to abt him, just the idea that the Bearer isn’t ‘special’ was a little strange. I don’t really understand the appeal.

Exactly, let us rant back dammit! Saint thinks he’s the only one who lost friends HA!. :rage:
Then again Saint is very selfish or at least self-absorbed (even more so than Santiago, I dare say).

Modesty is not of of Saint’s virtues.

Is the essence the same as chaos or is it something completely different?

I found weird cant say I DONT CARE ABOUT LAME BF i was just with him because he is the star quarterback brother and future star. So i want to use him as bait or as blood sacrifice… Nope game forces me to feel something for lame guy even if i choose let him there i don’t care of him

Saint has so many proud of himself in his head that his head could be used as a hot balloon in a zeppelin.

And therein lies the problem: he’s too perfect. The “He’s so great that everyone loves him, but he doesn’t care about the adulation” gets a bit wearing. Add that to his all-round good stats and his literally impossible eye colour, and we have a character who feels like he was created to be loved, rather than a character we love because he’s interesting. (Santiago, for example, is highly flawed, but is easily my favourite of the three boys, from what we’ve seen of them.)
