It is like Hercules all over again
Honestly, it would be cool if we could build a great relationship with Hera even despite being Zeus’ offspring - much to the surprise of…well, everyone. I can see Zeus being rather miffed if it turned out his kid liked Hera much MUCH better than him. (But maybe that’s just me and my general dislike of Zeus’ antics. I’d pick Hera’s side.)
This.
Freaking shapeshifting rapist. Not to mention he’d be super salty if she went around behind his back. Freaking hypocrite. Look all I’m saying is, Zeus better not let me catch him slipping.
Same. While I wouldn’t be surprised that if he were MC’s dad – like if stats were to default to a particular god – I’d like the option to not be happy with him in general, and to actually be on good terms with Hera.
Option to call out Zeus for his affairs please :>
I’m all for calling Zeus out, but I mostly I want to ask him why he named Europe after Europa, one of the women he forced himself on, depending on the story as either a bull, or an eagle.
I’m more curious to hear his explanation of Danae and Perseus. What do you mean by “golden rain” //prepares to kinkshame
I wonder what kind of stats “assign” what father.
Like will it be one single stats, which determine it, or a combination of several. ^^
Btw Rohie, what’s with the thing with our eye color in the beginning? Is it just a regular eye color choice (at least for the MC), but since we’re demigods, they look like one of the gods regardless of who our father is?
Will people change their attitude towards us, depending on who our father is, after it’s been revealed (here I’m talking about both the gods and everyone else)? I mean besides Hera, when Zeus is out father…we know how that’ll turn out. ^_^’
I think it was mentioned that eye colour is an aesthetic choice rather than a dad factor. This is if my memory isn’t lying ahahaha.
I’m hoping though that MC does get treated differently depending on who the dad is. For the most part – again if my memory isn’t lying to me – personal feelings won’t interfere too much with the trial. But outside of that, who knows?
The Dad factor…It’s like X-factor but for dads xD.
That is what I’m hoping for too. I mean, I could for example imagine someone being (even more) wary/terrified of the MC, if they’re also child of Hades. It’s often a theme that “regular” people are a bit creeped out of him, since you know “God of the Underworld”. ^^
Which will annoy my MC to no end. It’s already grating the way people act towards her now. She can objectively understand why people would feel the way they do. But she’s pretty disconnected from the way they see her, the surrealism of what she is and how she actually is as a person.
At the moment the fastest way a NPC can befriend her is treating her as an actual person. Do not put her on a pedestal.
Same, though my MC right now would appreciate honesty more. Like it would definitely bother her to have people put her on a pedestal, but right now she needs people she can trust, so the pedestal thing kind of takes a back seat.
(This is why Saint gets a free pass from her because at least he didn’t lie to her — Calypso, well she’s going to have to earn it. Also why she as of now has heart eyes over Adonis, he doesn’t seem to treat her all that differently — even making a joke at her expense)
If MC was a child of Hades, I can sort of see the other Olympians being wary solely because while Hades is part of the trinity, he’s not part of the 12. And if the MC likes Hades, especially as a dad, I’m pretty sure their not-so-good-standing with Hades would definitely but a damper on their power play.
I want to know who the father is already.
My highest stat is strength followed by allure. I wonder who it’s going to be.
From what I’ve seen of the Trinity so far, I would actually prefer my MC to be Hades’s kid. When it comes to the Olympians, he’s kinda like the charming uncle who lives abroad and only comes to visit during important family reunions.
I definitely think that’s preferable to Zeus, whose actions seem to have been fueled by his pride and pragmatism, and Poseidon, who’s been quite aloof so far.
Spoiler: it turns out there was a mix up at the hospital; your father is actually Odin.
As I’ve said earlier in this thread, my MC only got about 15% with both Calypso and Saint, but she definitely trusts Saint more, she’s not very comfortabe with his “acting like we’re friends now and not strangers…which we totally are”. ^^
And your entire comment about Adonis is exactly why my MC likes him too.
Same. Hades, dad or not, actually tried to help raise you out of his own volition. That definitely counts for something (though still praying for a choice to tell him that you consider him your dad if he’s not your biological father)
Gut feel is like Poseidon would probably be the dad that might have his heart in the right place but is generally not a good dad(?) like he could’ve visited like Hades/been a little more personal in checking up on you, but the fear of what you might be prevents him from doing all of that(?)
If anything his aloofness feels like someone who has to distance themselves in case he has to kill you. Which he might be reluctant to do. [at least this is my current prediction]
@Ventura, my MC is relatively okay with him all things considered. Like she made the decision to trust him early on, especially because he didn’t lie to her and was actually willing to talk. And she thought that she needed an ally at the very least, and Saint might as well be it. So they’re cool. No need to antagonise him :))
Calypso though. Oh my god. My child actually tried to punch her. And when Calypso gave her apology/not apology, she was just “do I forgive her…do I not forgive her” and just settled with “I’m watching you because I can’t afford to be alone in this trial whatever so we’re not okay but we’re good.” She definitely doesn’t trust Calypso :)) though since Saint seems to think Cal is okay, that might be a basis for my MC to reconsider a friendship in a later chapter but definitely not right now
Want this so much.
Both Saint and Calypso made some abysmal first impressions. ^^
My MC doesn’t hold a grudge against Calypso, but would say that there’s something “off” about her.
It also doesn’t help that they are on the opposite end of the spectrum regarding personality. My MC is an intelligent magician who’s in general a very non-agressive person, and will choose the non-violent/non-combat way if possible. It doesn’t help that she also pretty much associate combat with her being hunted and running for her life. So she’ll need some time before willingly sparring with people for fun.
(That’s also why, even if my MC had chosen to forgive Calypso right away, she would never have suggested a rematch. So cold unforgiveness it is.)
I told her I wanted a rematch. I hope we actually get to have one too.
My MC holds Calypso – well since she’s the first seeker who’s tried to capture her that she knows of – pretty much as a stand in for all the seekers for over the years. She’s incredibly bitter and salty (with obvious reason) for this. Whether she and Calypso get better, we’ll see. I’m excited for this though.
@Prof_Chaos, I do want a rematch too but not in the friendly way that seems to be implied? Hoping for at least one option for a friendly match and another where it’s decidedly less than :))
