I suppose so :~) I was wondering to what extent, though. Romance seems absolutely forbidden with regards to Artemis, so there’s no way Calypso can join the hunters and romance your MC (unless Rohie chooses to alter that for whatever reason, of course ) and the time frame in which she’ll have to make her decision is probably going to be very limited too. So realistically, how much of a problem can that be? She’ll have to choose, more or less. Will the drama be the emotional turmoil? And how long will that last after she’s made a decision? (this is kind of veering from the general query, I guess!)
To make a enjoyable tsundere is actually really tricky, believe it or not. There has to be a good balance between the harshness and the tenderness in their interactions with others. If a tsundere comes off as harsh too often or doesn’t seem to warm up in any way, it becomes easy for them to just come off as jerks who are rather unpleasant to watch in their interactions with others rather than a character who has more going on under the surface and is someone we can enjoy watching warm up. That said, he better not think that Evander hitting on him is Evander ‘hitting on him’; not only will Evander be completely unamused about that conclusion, but I doubt Cally (and possibly Donny) will be pleased about such an implication either.
I actually feel a little bad for Mia in particular when it comes to the Santiago situation; I’m going to try to play her as someone who inadvertently ends up drawing people to her, to the point that all three of the male ROs are actually interested in her (if it’s possible to play the Bearer in a way that makes them a little oblivious to romantic advances). Figured I would have Mia mirror Priscilla’s own predicament, where she had a choice between the Trinity (who may or may not have all been equally interested in her) .
We actually don’t know why Cally wants to join the Hunters of Artemis. @Rohie had been asked once whether she has a crush on Aeson, her answer was ‘kinda’. She also had said Cally is something of a paradox, sometimes being ruthless and very much a child of Ares in regards of war, to the point of forgetting her loyalty and care to her friends. But other times she’s friendly straightforward girl who is quick to look after her friends. So the situation with Aeson seems a little more complicated than Cally being rejected by someone she has a crush on.
The whole kiss from the dance doesn’t so much feel strange for Cally. Remember, Cally is certainly a person who actually seems to respond more strongly to actions rather than words. So it doesn’t seem strange that the way that she shows that she’s equally as interested in the Bearer is to return the gesture (which ends up changing into a more subtle action when she has to go off to rejoin Saint). Is it odd for someone who is interested in joining Artemis’ Hunters? Maybe; we still don’t know if the vows that are made to join her are as severe about romance. And even then, there are some versions of Artemis’ stories where she has befriended certain males like Orion (who she got so close to that one possible version for his death is that Apollo caused it, fearing that his sister’s maidenhood or simply out of jealousy), so there’s a chance that she is a little lenient about certain interactions with men.
…You know, it’d be kinda cool if one of the Bearer’s past lives was actually Orion is some way. Like instead of actually being male, he is a non-binary individual who came to befriend both Artemis and Apollo after meeting Artemis by chance, which plays a small role in why the twins are a little interested in protecting the Bearer (this is just a silly idea, of course ).
It does seem more complicated now, but I was fairly certain that it had to be. Artemis’s vows seem to vary a little in that regard depending on whatever mythos you’ve been reading, so I guess it definitely leaves a little room for interpretation! What really confused me was that, since Calypso seems so straightforward and determined that if Artemis’s vows were strict (which of course we don’t know!) that it seemed kind of strange that she might display romantic interest in somebody and know that it would likely remain kind of unexplored (for lack of better term). I agree in that she seems like someone who responds more strongly to actions, just the fact that she responded @ all was something that interested me! It’s not that weird to presume that she can be interested in the bearer romantically and want to be part of the Hunters, either since we don’t all tht much about this in general so far. This is just my interpretation of course, I feel like I sound presumptive
When I first played this and met Avery I was all "Yay! I hope I can romance her " Though I only found one more interaction with her, if she really is a RO like the FAQ says am I going to get my chance anytime soon?
@Lizzy, well ideally soon. But Rohie is in the middle of some rewrites and all that so :)) but mentioned some time ago that the challenges are supposed to have options for Avery-mancers to interact with her more
Well, Cally does also come off as somewhat reckless and impulsive at times. So if the rules toward interaction with men does turn out to be on the strict side and she has some idea of it, it could be seen as her being impulsive about her interest in the Bearer, and not fully thinking about the consequences. Or it could be that she’s decided to take advantage of the delay of the test for the hunters by exploring her newfound interest in the Bearer while she still can, choosing to focus on the here and now for the time being. Who know; her interaction with the Bearer during Artemis’ Trial may end up shedding some light on the interaction between her and a Bearer who is interested in her.
Have you seen this forum, @gia? We’ve all made a lot of random theories from how we view things that have been happening and how the characters are reacting in Children of the Gods so far. We’ve even had discussions on Zeus’ choice to give his child a Viagra pill, pole dancing with the spear Poseidon gives his child, Demigods possibly possessing the ability to inflate chests, what the ROs’ possible kinks are, and many other things that probably should not be revived in our minds once more.
This forum is made of everyone’s personal interpretations/observations, our over-active imaginations, and @Rohie’s facepalms whenever she sees what kind of misadventures our minds have taken her story events and characters this time.
It’s not one; @poison_mara just started to crack jokes about Zeus’ pill gift. Then @H2O jokingly suggested we could harness our Allure abilities with the Spear by doing pole dancing with it and a good deal of us just rolled with it and started to crack more jokes about the weapons in general. I’m honestly hoping that the Bearer could make some jokes about their weapon during the Trial.
Oh, and just so you know, Avery is likely going to be the one looking after the Bearer’s health during the Trials as their own personal Healer (assuming that @Rohie hasn’t decided to change that in her rewrite).
Well I just get that feeling, at least after I asked her to dance That girl has a lot of anger issues made me a little perplexed to see her on the list of RO lol
Romancing Sage, I think you should be less inclined to think bondage and more inclined to think that she’s much more likely inadvertently hurt you than the others. Even if you’re found innocent of such a crime by her…such hatred doesn’t just go away, if you know what I mean.
I do think it’ll be a while for Sage’s anger and grief to calm down, and that she’ll end up hurting them during the beginning (even when they are innocent). In fact, I get the feeling the moment she realizes she may be falling for the Bearer, she might end up acting in aggression more out of fear of the change in emotions.
It’s just when ropes and hospital visits were brought up, I remember a rather…‘colorful’ conversations my guy cousins were having about nurses and bondage. It was a weird Saturday.
Crap, I hope Aeson and I are not going to be going after the same girl again! I mused to myself after the situation in Troy how awkward it would be if in each life we were constantly falling for the same girl lol
I’d think that most of the time you guys find each other, fall in love, and then die tragically as you burn out and repeat this process over and over again.
This makes sense since the Greek fates are notorious for being cruel.
It would make sense since a classic Greek myth was that your soulmate is essentially your literal other half. Which is why it’s so harmonious, you found the other part of you.
In this game it is literally true, you found your other half.
Also in Greek tragedies fate is eternal and circular. We have been finding ourselves over and over to succumb again to our fate. Ouroboros the eternal serpent the infinity symbol.
