Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Now that is a side my mc could get behind, where do I sign up to join?
Unfortunately the Gods can just kill our far too pretty, idiot brother, or he can get himself killed in that silly war, which will kill us too. So I’m afraid there may be no escaping it, unless Aeson joins us (which would give my mc all sorts of other problems from having to live in close proximity to the guy). :cold_sweat:

Or you can do what my pragmatic MC will do.

Knock him out.
Stasis Orb.
Hide him very well.

A common misconception about black people is that we don’t come in hair and eye colors other than shades of brown ranging from warm to so-dark-its-black. I had a baby sitter who had naturally blonde hair, I’ve seen a main with naturally red hair and a fully bushy beard to go with it, my late grandfather had blue eyes. They may be recessive genes but darker skinned people have the potential for varied colors in hair and eye tones as well, especially if they are biracial.

And my original point wasn’t that she wasn’t biracial but that she wasn’t African American. being African and African American are two different things. People who are African actually are from Africa. African Americans can potentially be from Africa but it was originally a term made to distinguish freed slaves who were now considered “people” and not “property” in the eyes of the American government from their white American counterparts. If Caly were an African American then she would have had to come from Africa to gain citizenship in America before going to Olympus, this may have happened but hasn’t been noted in the story.

She is neither American or African. IIRC, she is Melanesian. They come from Papa New Guinea.

I thought she was Eritrean?

Nope, she is Melanesian.

Nope, she was changed to Eritrean months ago. A pity in my opinion because in melnesian de clear eyes and blonde genes are twenty times more common than in Africa. I read an article and post about like months ago. And posted about my mental canon of calypso

Do you have the source of your info? I searched and found nothing about this change.

I found it:

So I wrong about her.

Where can I find the updated version of the game (as of 5/23)

It’s in the first post. It says that it’s 5/09 but it’s actually the right one.

sweet thank you!!! @Mxm124

I agree with you on the fact that Prostitutes are treated like shit when in reality that is just their own form of surviving because there may not be any other options in their eyes or that’s just the plain truth at the moment. People who sell drugs aren’t criticized as much - to my knowledge - like you said. Unlike people who buy the drugs who are then labeled as a junkie, crackhead, dope fiend, tweaker etc. The one commonality between prostitutes - unless this is a sex traffic type of thing, drug dealers, and the people who buy the drugs is that they all know what they’re getting into willingly, the risks, and the harm they bring to other people’s lives and their own. Neither prostitution, drug dealing, nor stealing is better than the other in my opinion. Drug dealers don’t force their clients to come and buy their drugs. Just like if a client of a prostitute were to get a disease well…nobody told them not to use protection, knowing damn well the risks. As for stealing it really depends on what you’re stealing and how you go about it. If you’re robbing someone’s house armed with weapons, then yes, that’s a potential crime scene or like you said harmful towards those people. But if you’re pick-pocketing money you aren’t doing as much damage in those other cases that were mentioned. Yes, you’re still taking someone’s hard earned money - sometimes, who knows how they got the money - so it’s still affecting them, but it also depends on how you go about it. You could easily take that person’s wallet and they have $40 and you slip a $20 out and then pretend they dropped their wallet and give it back to them. You still stole, but I don’t think it’s as damaging.

I love the new updates! Especially the one with the Trojan War. Just love how the author incorporated the Iliad in. Really curious as to where it’d lead. I’d want to see more of this in the future if possible.

I’m curious, does your godly father depend on your choices? If so, which ones are they? I’ve got Poseidon. So in my playthrough, there’s a representative for each of the Trinity. Is that the case for all playthoughs? Like does Saint’s and the Bearer’s parents change?

But there were also moments that didn’t really add up. Like my choice in hating the gods (I mean come on, they sent all those Seekers after you, or at least you thought they did) wasn’t referenced much or were seemingly ignored or deemed irrelevant in some cases. Do correct me if I’m wrong though.

Again, this is a great WIP!

If you have a specific question may first look up if it already got answered in the faq in post 6590. That’s what it’s here for. It also should answer your question how to get the different fathers.

Right, sorry. Although just as a tip, it might be better to post it in the first post (if it wasn’t already.) I guess the FAQ answered two of my questions.

Well that’s why it’s in the thread title. The faq was written with the allowence of the author from another long time poster on this topic, so they cannot add it to the first post (and I also don’t know if the first post hasn’t already reached the editing limit so it’s possible that only a mod could change it, so for now telling people where the faq is in the topic title is an efficient compromise)

I could put a link to the FAQ post in the first post if @Rohie is alright with that.

I’m sure she would be; the reason she hasn’t done it herself is both because her Internet is currently really sketchy and she’s also currently really busy with the rewrite. It’d probably be better to wait for the go-ahead all the same, but I’m sure that’d be quite beneficial.

That’d be great, thanks! @Cecilia_Rosewood

You’d think it would be easy to find the mentioned FAQ post, but… Well, it definitely isn’t post 6590 and I haven’t been able to find it by skimming the posts before and the posts after it, so… a little bit of help please?
