Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Just read through the latest update, found some errors:

She turns to you. “Let us go now, child. It’s best that you’re not late to your fist summoning.”

(First summoning, after leaving the hospital)

You throw him a confused expression. Then, you realize what he
means. You saw all the members of the Trinity for sure…but the Twelve.
Someone was missing.

Athena, the Goddes of Wisdom, you think.

(Should be Goddess, on the Chariot with Saint and Calpyso)

Aunt Alice allows a ghost of a smile to set upon her face. “Some imbecile made us vote**,**”

(Think that ought to be a full stop/period at the end)

Aunt Alice nods. “I couldn’t let them take you away from me.” her voice is strong, fierce.

(Her voice)

Calypso groans. “Also known as the source of my misery. Alright, lets go.”

(Missing apostrophe, “let’s go”. Touring the academic centre)

He turns to you, bowing in turn. " Saoro Evander."

Unnecessary space between quotation mark and Saoro.

Error when trying to access personality (my wit was 55):

choicescript_stats line 155: Non-existent variable ‘wit_text’

And hooray for the Gods picking sides and fighting. Wouldn’t be Greek mythology without that. I did expect Hephaestus to be a bit more reluctant in siding with Ares and Aphrodite, though.

Ah, grey-eyed Athena. If I’m going to fight in this war, I guess I’ll need someone to make me as good a general as Alexander and a good a speaker as Cicero. Sort of an own goal there, Olympians. Ares got his ass kicked by Diomedes. He’s not even Mars, who has more of the citizen-soldier defender aspect and doesn’t get beaten by every God and their lackey. (Also, Athena, you ought to have done a better job as a Guardian. The MC doesn’t know everything about Greek mythology nor does he know the world’s legal systems inside out :stuck_out_tongue: )

Also, it’ll be nice to comment snarkily about the floors. Are doors too mundane, or something? Also, Hera. Don’t suppose it would be ever possible for Hera not to hate us?

It would be nice to see some of the more obscure figures, though. Nestor, Meleager, Cassandra, Menelaus (yes I like Menelaus and it makes sense for him to be there, he married a daughter of Zeus). I assume the usual suspects (Odysseus, Heracles, Perseus) will make an appearance (as teachers?)?

Hope to see more in the future (and more skill checks - especially the wit based ones). Keep up the good work!

@Thfphen110 Ah, Diomedes. Conquers a city at fourteen, scales the walls of Troy, outwits Odysseus, seems to have Athena fall in love with him, beats Ajax (the big one), Aeneas, AND Ares in combat (and he wasn’t even a demigod)… And what respect does he get these days?

In speaking of stress, @Rohie, how do we bring down stress levels? Will this be implemented at chapter 4 or a future chapter?

8th circle of Hell, I believe

beats Francis (the big one), Aeneas, AND Ares in combat

Fixed it for ya.

Well, now that I’ve slept for like a combined total of 5’Rs and had, some, of my energy levels restored after seeing Superman vs Batman: Dawn of Justice yesterday, I’m ?raring? to crawl.

So first off, to my Ninja and enabling Royal, I like this updated list too, except for maybe Hephaestus.
Kind jealous I didn’t think of Rose myself, and such nice pictures.
My only real problem with Hugh Heph is that I thought he was supposed to be big in stature; other wise I’m good. (I take that’s Jamie of Outlander?)
I support David Gandy totes.
I considered doing Avery and then was like…:sweet_potato::sleeping:

Now on to crimes aplenty. @Rohie

 • No problem. I said I would try to edit and I meant it. I like to be helpful when I can and if helping you in anyway with this story is something I’ve done, then I’m privileged. (I’d like to go in for a second round but fried brain and I now have to dredge up enough wherewithal/inspiration to go back my own writing.)

 • 1: Ah, I was just wondering. My own research generally own led me to a similar conclusion. Np with what you’ve done though, just trying to fit it into my brain space.

 • 2: Heeeey, I’m not the one to come at you for things like that. I barely pay attention to the difference of it’s and its, the only reason I even mentioned them when I did is ‘cause its was someone’ else’s work and I thought they might care. (I loathe you by the way for making me relearn/recall the difference.) Aside from the fact that in most stuff she made the Sky too, she’s a benevolent rock, I’m sure she doesn’t hold too much of a grudge.

 • 3 :Hmm, I get that I’m just…curious I guess. I mean, if I was so amazing and non-Human that Humanity’s concepts didn’t really apply to me, I’m not sure that I’d use terms like Wife and such. Then again, who am I to argue with a God? Someone who’s too lazy right too that’s who

 • 4: That makes all of the sense from the whole write-y standpoint. Again, true. True.

 • 5: Soooo, people were reaching? They do have a tendency to do that…so okay.

 • 6/7: Aight. Ahhhhh! So Calypso was supposed to tell us about the distant poles, slacker. I mean, I know we have Demi-creation-god eyes but…I didn’t think our senses were that on point.

 • 8: Nice attempt at a curve there but I notice you didn’t answer the real important question. Is this not-the-Adonis-we-know, a God or nah?

 • 9 : That’s…that’s worse then him not appearing. You…it’s like you live to torment me…:sob: I’s never done nothin’ to you, I’s just a super fan. O’s but I’s gonna. Watchs ya backs I’s says! Watchs YAS BACKS! (See what you made me do, regress in speech.)

 • 10: guess I should have put this in bold the first time…
can I expect Carter Hall/Jessa McKenzie, to make a reappearance or were they just a nice name drop to help build word/character/past?
Soooo, I’m sorry but I’ve developed an extra question. I’m not sure whether or not others have asked yet but, will there be others? Gods from mythologies not of Greek origin?

Now onto fancasty stuff.

Jea Boi! I won one! Ahem Excuse me…my inner competitive spirit broke through for a second there. Hmm, guess I’m new to this Lucky Blue cat. I was originally going to use another dude but then I was like “Let me look up pictures of guys with white hair and see what I find.” I saw a picture of him and thought he was perfect and immediately went to find out who he was. Looks like I.Lucked out

I was worried that might be a problem that could crop up…good thing I was thinking and I’m actually a little unhappy with some of the cast, so I have to re-do a few.

While I personally am against a dark skinned Hera - due to my own skin deep issues - I like to try and stick to descriptions or at least how I interpreted them soo: I’m now stuck between taking it waaaay back and or using someone else, again time for some redbull. Recasted Hera - Adina Porter

 • I actually have absolutely no intention of changing my Calypso for a slew of reasons but three main ones I guess: the first being that Amber matches near perfect with the concept I had in my had, the second is that I’m of the opinion that if I find/imagine her tan enough, I’m good; and the third is that I’m well aware of the fact that being Biracial doesn’t mean you have to look it or have dark skin, aside from personal experience, case in point Rashida Jones (Plus, you’ drawing does kinda make me feel like I have a little leeway.)

 • If I did recast her though, I’d have to use Candice Patton

 • 2: Although I’m not happy how quickly you made my money funny, I was somewhat inclined to pursue Calypso’s romantic affections anyhow, but now? For sure, I’ma bout to be Tray Songz “It’s Mr. Steal Yo Girl!”

(While I do love Daisy Ridley the main reason I picked her was because, well, I like her. She wasn’t super Athena-y to me but I couldn’t really think of anyone else, so ‘like’ won out. I’ve realized it left me unsatisfied so here we go.)

Recasted Athena - Ant je Traue

Next up was Haris, while I’m fine with him as a dude but it occurred to me that his female counterpart didn’t work anymore. Back when she was a lil’gurl maybe, but now that she’s a grown Asth teenager, nah. So here.

Recasted Female Haris - Jade Chynoweth. (I realized that I forgot to add the Haris’ names sooo, Cameron Boyce is the dude and I just named the new chick.)

This last one is less a mistake and just my earlier mentioned indecisiveness.

Alternate Hermes - [Tom] (https://41.media.tumblr.com/c4f845775bcf33a9760f3ffa07127004/tumblr_mw6nshwz511smmpmzo1_1280.jpg) Hiddleston

And well, I don’t think I have anything else to say now soo, catch you all later.#SooTired.

Am I truly the only one that sees Hades as his representation in the Hercules Disney Movie?

Yes. Jaimie from Outlander [everyone please watch this series it’s amazing ;A:] he’s pretty tall irl like he’s around 6’1(?) I think(?) he could easily bulk up though so I have no problems with that :))

It’s really finding curly redheads/people who could pull off curly red hair that give me pause.

Though on other things: I’m really glad for the literature/pop-culture references here. These make my night. If we’re looking at other possible figures to make an appearance, I’m volleying for Medea. Or for comedic purposes: Lysistrata (though that might be a bit much).

I will always see Hades like:

It was how my first mythics teacher introduced him to us.

Well its mainly because in sweden she is named that way LOL

Well I can think of at least three options that could lower stress. Rampage, romance, surviving till lunchtime. All great options there.

There fixed it for you! Now I need a smoke lol

Good old after romance smoke eh? I mean as long as it was a demigod. A legit one probably would spell the death of you.

There are tons of ways to lower stress: Reading, Jogging, Cooking, Building Pillow Forts with a “No Gods Allowed” sign.

The pillow fort sounds like an excellent idea. Hot choco and a secret password for worthy non-pantheon people :>

Where is that drawing of Calypso? I can’t find it or any of the drawings.

On that note, I’d love there to be an acknowledgement of the irony of my very alluring character romancing Calypso. XD

Ares: (grumbling) Why’d she have to fall for that punk? I don’t trust him or that smooth tongue of his.

Aphrodite: Oh, I like him. He reminds me of someone I love for some reason. (admires herself in the mirror)

(Hephaestus Greatly Approves)

No seriously, how can I get Hera to join my team? I will fist fight all of Zeus kids? Done. Clothesline Zeus’s side pieces? Done. Rewrite all of time and space so she’s my mom/lover? Done.

Hey…hey don’t look at me like that. Hera and Zeus are brother and sister. We’re Greek darn it.

Honestly, Hera’s only so hostile because no one but the Trinity knows whether or not Zeus is your father. She’s very vengeful towards the offspring of her husband… especially Demigods.

So until the identity of your father comes out, she’s keeping a very close eye on you.

Dang it. Zeus better not be my Dad… ):

Hmm, now who is the baby’s daddy Poseidon
