Nah, he gets poisoned by the World Serpent and dies, but the hammer didn’t help him.
I know, I was making a joke.
not overmapping my character. I’m just throwing theories in the air haha
"And Lavei thus entered the Hero Trials using a warhammer forged with the core of a star and a shield that bent space around it. The demigods promptly raised a cry of “OP. Pls nerf.”
He will survive, because if he dies on Ragnarök, he would not appear on the third Avengers
That’s freaking awesome lol
Mhm, but that was more of a general caution for the people testing the game. Don’t overmap characters, until you have all the facts. The basic model of my character is someone who wants to make all the friends they could. They have been so alone and need friends and social interactions.
In all seriousness, the inventory for the game so far seems to have a pretty good balance when it comes to the number of items tailored between the classes. Some look like they would be useful for both and others, like the Sword of Peleus and the Spellbook of Hecate, are clearly for Magicians. However, the Sword of Amara (read: the sword used by Zeus and Athena) and the Armor of Achilles definitely seem like warrior equipment (and I would say those are cooler than the other sword and the spellbook)
@Bryce_Kaldwin My MC sounds the same as yours: lonely for so many years and currently trying to catch up with the social interactions he’s missed out on.
Hope the swords description is similar to these two weapons from GW2. Eternity/Twilight
Thoroughly enjoying your work so after several playthroughs I felt kind of bad about not pointing out a few typos I noticed. Dunno if this might be helpful but here we go:
When choosing how you feel about the Gods and hunters:
I’m completely despise the Gods, no doubt about it. I refuse to be apart of any of this.
Should be: “I completely despise” and " a part"
And then when choosing that opinion:
If it is them sending hunters after you, like you suspect, then this is probably just another sick past time of theirs
“Pastime” and add a period at the end of the sentence.
When trying to evade the hunters and choosing not to go into the restaurant but rather backtrack and find a more populated street, we still get:
They flew down in a circle around you, maybe from the rooftop of the Thai restaurant,
It might be best to not reference the Thai restaurant because even though we don’t manage to lose them; from the previous description of us running away it felt like we made some progress before tripping. So maybe say they come down from a non-descript building instead?
When using a magical artefact to run away:
You muscles ache, your lungs demand air,
“Your”
When meeting Saint and trying to bludgeon him with a piece of wood (so fun by the way, now if only we could succeed…
):
“Are you fogetting that you tried to kill me?” you say with lethal calm.
“forgetting”
When telling Saint how much we despise the gods:
Because the gods are monsters. That much power at the tip of their fingertips,
“at their fingertips” seems less awkward
Your vision starts to blur. The ground seems to tilt on an axis that
doesn’t agree with your stomach. You lean aginst the wall and take deep
breaths.
“against”
After being teleported to Athens:
A woman rushes past you and you realize your standing in the middle of the sidewalk.
“you’re”
In Nephlim’s lair when Saint shouts:
His voice echos not once,
“echoes”
Upstairs:
The sunlight the pours through the large window
“that”
When choosing whether or not to drink the potion:
if this is the way to break the blocker spell, its worth it.
“it’s”
After drinking it, when hesitating about holding hands with Nephlim the MC looks at Saint for confirmation but that seems a bit weird if we’ve previously chosen not to trust him.
During the flashback where we’re 5:
The man places his hand on your aunt’s cheek, and warm sense of love fills the room.
“and a warm”
When ignoring then lashing out at the bully at school:
something let out a sick yet crack,
I’m guessing you meant “wet”?
When aunt Alice gives us the talk:
Aunt Alice seemed to be strugling to say something
“struggling”
This can’t happen again, lest it draws more unwanted attention to you.
I might be wrong about that one as I don’t understand a single thing about grammar, tenses and whatnot but I’m tempted to say “draw”.
When choosing to train in magic:
Soon, you could cast a spells
“cast spells”
When aunt A gets abducted:
you knew something was wrong. aunt Alice was usually
“Aunt Alice”
Description of our years on the run:
You used to haave a tiny map of the United States … keep under the rader.
“have” and “radar”
Set up for the fight with the brown haired hunter:
You tried to veer back onto the main street, but they had your surrounded.
“you”
In the abandonned factory:
You heard and demands to hold specific formations or to spread out or to keep watch.
“hear demands”
When choosing to fight the hunter off with magic or strength:
You could feel a minuscule of power that the Godly part of you thrived off of.
Dunno, maybe “a minuscule amount of power”?
Choosing magic to kick his ass:
You hielded a large portion of the ancient power,
I’m guessing “wielded”?
The boys knife didn’t break through your barrier.
“boy’s”
In that moment, you remembered you had…
“you remember”
Dreaming about aunt A:
you can smell the tree’s of Ashbrook park
“trees”
The sun peeked behind her hair, sending the warm brown into waves of blazing amber.
I guess “peeks” since the rest of the description is in that tense?
Aaaand I’ll stop there with the horrible unsolicited wall of text.
Question about Magikeeps: should an ordinary mortal wander into one would they see a normal bookstore or would the glamour fade away like it did for us, or are they simply diverted away from the store/lose any interest in it as soon as they look at the shop window?
Passive ability: all enemies will automatically aim for your heel, which instantly kills the MC.
Well at least it isn’t the knee…
It all depends which of the many mythos @Rohie follows… Zeus can even be the Fates’ destiny deliverer … so as of this moment we really can’t be sure where the Moirai are in our story. Just too many conflicting possibilities are open at this moment in time to know for sure.
There are many gods and goddesses who “punished” rape and intended rape. Sometimes those targeted even did so. Artemis, Apollo, Athena, and many others did many things to punish that act.
I’m being careful to not leave anything out. So far, each skill has gotten
equal mention; small things like having knowledge of certain enchantments,
or Calypso complimenting you on being a “true Warrior.” The stats haven’t
made much of a difference, because these first three chapters have been
stat bulkers. From now on, there will be many different branches to
explore; sometimes warriors will have odysseys that "magician"s wont, and
vice versa. You’ll probably have to do a play through two or three times to
experience the game in full. Very excited.
This is awesome. Not only does it mean replayability, it means you can explore aspects that otherwise may never be seen.
I can only hope to do the same in my WiP.
It is very exciting.
Oh, sorry, I meant “the only god” in reference to men. Though with Athena, her history also includes punishing Medusa for being raped. What myth did Apollo do that? I wasn’t aware of one.
(If you could pm me we could continue talking about it privately?)
@Rohie, considering Zeus’ and Poseidon’s less than stellar reputation with women and men as a whole will we have a chance to call them out on it but still hold favorable views of the gods? Also, if I got mad at Hades and Athena the first time we met, will I have an option to apologize to them and improve our relationship, or am I permanently mad at them?
I actually really love that idea!
Glad I got the idea for a Warrior/Mage battle-couple with Calypso for the first playthrough.
That’s pure metagaming. If you rp as I did, You have to be your character with his her personality and with his her knowledge. Waiting for my character, would BE TOTALLY against her rol. However, for others acting would be against theirs . People is totally obsessed with having good results in games. A rpg is not a quiz test, it’s being a character, Maybe your character fate is short and she or he ended dying or with a break heart. But If It’s how you character was it feels good, and was a good adventure. My character is a emo angry and frustrated with all the lies surrounding her. However, she is ambitious and was babysitter by Athenea … So Would her ambitious nature win against Her nemesis, her fair rage??? I don’t know and It would make this gameplay AMAZING for me , so I don’t care if I would end dying or not if the ride is great.
Does this mean we won’t have any more chances to raise our stats after chapter 3?
@RanchoJoe It will be much harder, that’s all! Play to your strengths and work on your weaknesses.
@RedRoses your relationships with everyone, specifically with the Gods, change a lot. You can be on their side one second, then betray them the next. I’ll always give you chances to change your views and opinions, especially after big reveals, like in Ch3.
