Hmm… I see the Fates less as the “weavers of destiny” and more like the concept of mortality. All I know of their mythology is the classical “ladies who cut people’s life threads when their time is up” idea. The way I see it, the Fates will exist as long as there are mortals capable of dying and the only way to get rid of them is to make everyone immortal and invincible.
@Bryce_Kaldwin well played, hahaha. That’s the problem with gods that govern metaphysical things: getting rid of them is tricky
So compulsion is a mage thing than? That really sucks for the kind of MC I’m playing. Gravity manipulation would be an amazing ability for a warrior to have.
I’am pretty sure that compulsion is actually liked to the essence. So maybe a magician would simply have an easier time understanding how to control it.
So all the MCs can use it. Albeit with more or less difficulty… I think.
You’d also strengthen Ares and Hades since you will be in conflict and killing makes Hades stronger. Simply put, I’d imagine the gods and goddesses as extensions of your will. They are aspects of your will.
My main stat is strength and my next is allure so it looks like it isn’t going to happen. If this is something that is unique to the MC than it should be usable regardless of class and get easier to use the more experience they have wielding it.
But will Ares and Hades still exist once everything is erased? No more conflict and none still alive to do the dying? Ideally everything that came to be after the Big Bang could be destroyed, including the Underworld.
I definitely agree about the aspects of will idea. The gods simply govern different parts of the universe but Lavei should be able to override them all.
But imagine a warrior that can drop meteors on enemies, or create massive gravity wells or an event horizon that draws enemies into a crushing singularity. There is a lot that could be done with this.
Basically, they have you inside them which is how they have divine authority over the aspects of the universe they rule. They imparted part of yourself back into you during your birth which is what the blessing was all for. They were returning portions of the power they were given back to you.
At that point, do even really need to be a warrior? You’d be bending physics to your will. There wouldn’t be any need to use swords and wear armor if you can create black holes at will =P
Warrior or mage, I thought the Bearer will be able to do all that after getting the full Essence. I thought the “classes” are just there until you can blow up stars and whatnot haha
Gaia,Uranus, Nyx, Chaos, and Eros had the most of you, their children had less, and the Olympians have the least amount I’d imagine. But the key is, the Olympians are clearly more afraid of whatever is coming than they are with the possibility that you will destroy them. I’d wait to see what the threat is before you over-map your character and do you all know who is the Lady of the Doves?
