Now who’s doctor Fun?
That’s some the fault in our stars discussion right there.
Well I always say that I’m a sucker for drama, so I really like it here right now.
That’s why the gods have lots of children the only thing they can’t get bored of is sex, they have to get creative. Same with the Bearer and future little bearers.
A kid part human part bearer would be a demibearer??

That’s completely different, I’ll have you know
.
I was stating the emotional impact as what would happen, but you were too friggin apathetic to even change your looks.
My MC is still going to be badass because like I said before, she’s going to lock away most of her power until she actually has to use it; be Captain America rather than Doctor Manhattan. She’ll practically never be bored then because a lot of challenges would still be challenging. But again…still can kick more ass than Captain America when it comes to fighting and athletics. She’ll probably still make herself a genius, just to be safe.
You don’t get to hit me with my own derogatory title, good sir. I’m the ACTUAL Dr. Fun. Cause when she does this, everything will still be fun for a lot longer than those of you who choose to embrace the ultimate power forever.
PS: in regards to Q and his boredom, the only reason he didn’t make himself less powerful in order to make things interesting is because the Continuum forbade it because they considered such actions to be beneath them. The Bearer has no such restraint keeping them from doing that. Or at least none that would matter.
I don’t know why all or you are so OBSESSED with BOREDOM. It is an emotion provoked by certain process in our brains. Modern science could momentarily already eliminating it due magnets. So Essence who could wipe BOREDOM same as famine death and bad music. All of you are imagine being omnipotent without no power to change things You literally could be mortal if you want or a chiken
Or become the active creatore of a new universe. That way you can go absolutely wild in how you want to shape the world…You could create some trippy neon world with the weirdest animals and if it becomes boring just repeat and try again…well that also has “some” morality problems, but hey, at a certain moment I could imagine some Beares to just stop caring.
No it would be called sad, because if they don’t gain immortality too they most likely will die sooner or later. For the Bearer it most likely will always be too soon.
I thought Rohie stated that a child of the Bearer was always human and didn’t inherit their powers?
Unless a unexpected child ends up being formed in a different way outside of a Bearer/Bestower getting physically intimate with someone, then it could be a different story (like their Essence ends up combining with someone else’s Essence, which forms a child who inherits their non-Bearer “parent’s” powers in particular). That would be a hard situation to even expalin to the RO’s parent.
Again OMNIPOTENT means that you could do ALL YOU ARE GOD. Your child could be whatever you want immortal or a hippopotamuswith laser eyes . I am normally the pessimist lol; but all or you in terms of omniscience and omnipotent are too bad lol.
YESSSS I was wondering if that was an option, I’ve always wanted to have a hippopotamus as offspring.
That’s a great idea! Children through reality warping! Nothing could ever go wrong!
(The moment MC became Scarlet Witch…)
I’m thinking “uh oh, here comes the Gods pet aliens!” Kind of thing
ahhh all of you are so attached to think with human limitations. I am atheist but I went to a Catholic private school ruled by nuns. And one of teachings was theology. And God’s mysteries. And its powers. So for me us easy to understand how being omnipotent all this stuff as boring fun is totally relative or just impossible. You just have to say I want to be happy and puff Happy
I could think of a number of things that can go wrong. A lot of them stems from trying to explain to your friends and both families how a child (or even a person an age close to the Bearer’s own) is in fact their and their RO’s kid. I might get even trickier to explain if the Bearer happens to be the same gender as their RO (like how would a Male Bearer explain the fact that Adonis is also the child’s father).
Then again, a good number of the Gods’ children weren’t always born of normal means. So there a chance the Twelve will take that unexpected child’s ‘birth’ in stride…some of them anyway. I can see Ares, more or less, trying to beat the Bearer close to death for getting really intimate his daughter.
Me too, that’s why I added the picture
While my mc will likely change his looks, I was merely saying that by the time he can and does it won’t really matter anymore.
It won’t be a hard lock, assuming it’s even possible to do something like that, now will it?
It’s a bit like me vowing to walk everywhere until I’m faced with such inclement weather that I’ll use my car again, simply because I can.
Ultimately no matter how you twist and turn it the mc will become omnipotent and possibly immortal too after their 18th birthday should they win the trials. Not using your powers to their full extent at any given time then becomes merely an exercise of willpower.
Well we don’t really choose to embrace that power forever, it’s the Gods who want to foist immortality on us and the mc gaining full access to that power is also a completely involuntary act on their part, at no part in the process can we say “No!” except by possibly failing the trials on purpose so that we will be killed before the full effects of that power hit us.
Well I choose to view titles like that like sports trophies really, once I have them I can pass them on if I deem someone else more worthy of them.
I don’t know making ourselves less powerful seems like possibly the only thing the mc cannot do. But I suppose we’ll find out if and when we manage to “win” those trials.
Just putting it out there Dark Arisen released on pc in February this year, unfortunately without the Beserk armor because they couldn’t agree to get the license. Immortality would be fun not invisible and having no presence besides killing… Scratch that fun without being stuck in three places.
- I really want to know Artemis’ rules for her hunters since Calypso is the only RO I can imagine a happy ending with (Both of us would be immortal) for my main goal character, unless the essence or uncle Henry/papa Hades would change that but I’m not counting on it. And I’m only questioning Artemis rules because Calypso doesn’t seem hesitant which means either Artemis doesn’t have the no boys rule or Calypso doesn’t care that much… Or may simply be an idiot.
I don’t understand how anyone can find absolute power boring, control is the ultimate form of fun.
Imagine just starting out a video game (not New Game+; literally starting a game you just got) with ever power unlocked, the highest stats, and the most powerful items it has to offer. With it, you can get through the story faster, unlock trophies easier, and easily take down others in any type of Co-op mode. How long will that fun honestly last, knowing all the things obtained were never earned by your own blood, sweat, and tears?
I just can’t see either of my Bearers (Evander or Mia) enjoying such a situation. They have gotten through most of their young lives working hard to master their skills and holding strong against every hardships that were thrown their way (they may not have gotten out it completely unscathed emotionally or physically, but they’re still standing). And being away from most of the Gods let them develop a very human way of reacting and connecting to others (not saying that Demigods are less human, but some seem prone to develop a very god-like mentality and possibly indifference).
Why should they have an interest in claiming a power that they’d never feel like they earned with their own hands or attempt to constant (tiring) control of others who are trying to live their own lives?
This might seem stupid but,if everyone is being so nit picky about not doing something that’s satisfying to accomplish, like defeating something powerful with their limited power that they so loved because now they have unlimited power on their hands, why not just create something that surpass you?
If your power is infinite, then simple really, create something that surpass infinity itself, there, you have your challenge, defeating something that is stronger than you.
Good luck defeating something that transcend omnipotent though, you’ll need it.
