Yup, the only real advantage MC has is that they can use mgic/the essence, but otherwise they in a pretty place to win immortality. So that may be a reason to be glad that Aeson has to help MC.

What I don’t understand is why we then have to attend highschool classes when we’ve already graduated highschool when that time could be more productively used catching up on years of missed training.
I don’t care if he gave the mc a fully equipped and working F-35 fighter jet (which would ironically be the only one of its kind), he still wouldn’t use it.
well I think is sweeter using their own stuff to slayer them than refusing stuff making more complicated slaying them. But i understand your point
That can have various reasons. Maybe the gods or whoever is actually responsible for MC don’t want to play favorites? Or it’s because the classes at the institute also include training for the trials (they certainly have some kind of combat training integrated in their schedule) and that the gods also expect one to have a certain knowledge (preferred the one of the institute) to be a hero that represents Olympus.
That doesn’t help MC to catch up in their combat training but the gods also don’t really seem to know how trained the MC really is. And they have the Essence, that enhances their magic and physical abilities. They probably expect from MC to deal with the trials better as others just because of that and also because they can expect Aeson to help MC.
Also: How much do you really think would MC be able to catch up in a few days? Realisticly speaking.
Or doing his job as god, or being urged by the other gods to not go looking for MC after the dilemma with Athena, maybe threatening to send Aeson to even more dangerous quests. We can’t know but I certainly wish for an oppertunity to confront him because of it.

Aeson doesn’t want help us at all. He seems want all for himself. Like the EMO DRAMATIC GLITTER DIVA SHIELDING SHOW. I like him but It would be a hate love relationship… and my girl will try to destroy all his reputation until everyone hates him like they now Hates Emo Mara
He has to help MC when they are in danger because when they die he dies too, so yes, the gods can expect him to help MC during the trials.

Not that much but anything is still better than nothing and who knows even a few days of real training might provide us a crucial edge when we need it.
Funny they had him out of town when we arrived then and we really haven’t gotten a moment alone with him ever since. My mc would have loved it if his (half)brother was there to help him train. Sadly that doesn’t seem the case, if we’re going to get any help from the guy it seems to come in the form of his annoying hero act and being “saved” like a damsell in distress is something my mc is far less fond of.
While I as a player would like to know which it was, my mc is pretty much done with the guy by now.

exactly they don’t want Aeson help us They want Aeson save us like and Hero and we look like stupid rats and assholes like a fraud; a creature to fear and laughing about it.
I’m talking about during the trials, where keeping you from dying does seem like a great help tbh.
The gods want the Essence as a weapon in the upcoming war, that’s what their heros are supposed to do figting for them. Nothing more.
It is not, if the only reason to help is he basked his HERO GLORY. I prefer die that being saving for Mr GLITTER SHIELDING
His main reason is that he wants to stay alive.
But he doesn’t.

Still I’d rather he do that by informing my character off what the hell is going on and helping him train his own powers, rather than being “saved” in some kind of hero act. My mc really doesn’t like being forced into a Cinderella act here.

It’s not about playing Cinderella, it’s about the fact that because Athena did take MC away from Olympus and because the MC didn’t got a formal training and the trials are after their arrival only a few days away (because they did run away from the Seekers for so long) they have no chance to get a trainig that would come close to the one that Aeson and the other demigods did receive.
The gods most likely can’t just delay the trials, for whatever reason (traditions, the upcoming war, they could lose their face infront of the public, even moreso when the Bearer still loses the trials). So teir safest bet is to count on Aeson and MC working together (even when they may don’t want them to become too close allies). That’s not even about Aeson playing the hero, but if Aeson sees the MC nearly dying he would be stupid to not help them, the same if the roles were reversed. The point is that they anyway have to make sure that the other one also survives, they go into the trials as team, the other demigods do not. That’s an advantage for both of them. Add the power of the Essence and the MC actually should have good enough chances to make it through the trials alive. It’s not that far off to expect them to accomplish a win even without the proper training.
Their only advantage may be being the Essence, but that’s still hell of an advantage.

Your perspective is logical. Sadly Emo Mara is not. She wants SHINE have what Aeson has and She won’t let him stole her glory . She won’t help him as a team she would try ridiculing him

I disagree here, since we’ve had that blocker on for most of our lives we hardly know how to use it and like I said my mc will not accept any “help” from “daddy” Hades. Even when working with Aeson, I’d rate his chances as rather mediocre at best.
They could have at least let us train for those few days though, instead of making us take silly highschool classes, if nothing else that would have made my mc at least feel more confident.
A power we have next to no experience in actually using.
Cause they were little packs of psychotic killers, yes. If they had really wanted to find the mc quicker they should have used their bigger guns much earlier on. They only seem to bring in non-psychotic people, like Saint and Calypso when time has nearly run out.

The blocker only blocked the godly part of their powers? It only stopped MC from developing the powers they got from their godly parent.
The first time MC used it indicates that it should come naturally to them, also it’s really much power compared to what other demigods can do. Also the Essence also enhances the MCs physical attributes so I’m sure they also can hit somewhat harder as other demigods when tested.
That probably would be favorism (or at least seem like that to the other demigods) and I think the gods want to avoid that while expecting a war.
And it also could play a little bit into the whole destiny thing going on with the prophecy. If the MC wins they proved that they deserve to be alive even when the one way or another end up on Cronus side. The Gods just hope that the MC participating may proofs as a useful asset to their side of the war. It’s a gamble. That’s why they were so hestinant to even make them demigods this time around.
Following that logic it doesn’t matter how good they are trained, if the Bearer is worthy to fight for the gods then they will win…or something.
The brainwashed ones. Which also seemed to kill other Seekers. Of which the other Seekers didn’t knew anything about and had to guess that it was the MC who killed the Seekers.
Well, she certainly can play solo. I meant it more in a live dead situation that she may doesn’t have a chance to stop Aeson from eliminating the danger. That’s not really team playing…Also maybe she gets the oppertunity to save Aeson instead? Good way to proof who is the real star here.
