I honestly don’t think that their reaction is that similar? Callie’s reaction is honestly closer to the way Adonis reacts, both commenting MC’s subtlety, while Aeson reacts in a way that indicates that he would have preferd for MC to be upfront with him (his relation stat indicates the same). That both are somewhat suprised that MC is asking them to dance seems to come more from their respective characters and neither of them expecting that kind of attention (Calypso being suprised because it simply didn’t crossed her mind, Aeson taken back because…well I don’t think that romance is on the top of his priority list and he seems to be rather wary), wheras Adonis is most likely used to people coming to him and asking for some…dancing.
And about Psyche…well she seems to be the type that likes to make a picture from others, and MC directly asking someone to dance certainly gives her some view into what kind of person MC is…or at least she may thinks so.
Oh, I meant that when you ask Aeson or Calypso to dance with them directly, the other will blink at the Bearer when they glance at them, not that they themselves reacted the same when asked to dance.
Although I did find it interesting Aeson that reacted to the discreet reaction by saying “You should have just asked, ____. I would have said yes” while the relationship screen at 30 reads ‘He’s just met you, and is slightly unnerved by your presence’ before you ask him. Is a matter of appearance as a accepting Hero? Probably not; I mean, his relationship with the Bearer does increase much more when direct, meaning he probably appreciates just being upfront and honest with him. But I was a little surprise he was that willing to dance with someone who unnerves him. Makes me curious about what way the Bearer unnerves him; does it involve their destiny, or something else?
And in the scene before the ritual, when Cally looks at him, for some reason he looks to the Bearer. Maybe it was a matter of the Bearer just being the nearest thing he could look at without dealing with the awkwardness of keeping eye contact with Cally, but I can’t help but wonder if the source of the awkwardness between Aeson and Calypso is the Bearer.
I think there might be a few angst triangles going in our little scooby gang.
I know we haven’t interacted with Psyche (spelling?) much, but I think I noticed her giving Adonis a few interesting (and unrequited) glances. Saint and Adonis also have an interesting relationship, although I suspect it might be me reading into things.
And I can’t help but wonder if Calypso and Saints deep friendship is responsible for the apparent failure of whatever is/was going on between her and Aeson.
All in all the group really feels like a bunch of teens who have been together for a long time and have significant history. Maybe Adonis has dated them all at some point or another.
I’d say it was down to doing an activity normally reserved for more romantic dates, with your “brother” who you’ve just met (and is gay). At least that’s how my character would view it when dancing with Aeson.
It’s hardly my mc’s fault though that these are the shennanigans he apparently has to go through to get some alone time with his long lost “brother”, even if it is double awkward that way.
Yep, with the mc being the tacked on, unwanted extra, to who they’re only being “nice” out of love/respect for his brother. While my mc in turn is really only interested in getting to know Aeson as brothers and maybe in getting to know Adonis as well, but has no interest in the scooby gang, or joining them, as such.
I think it’s more likely the awkwardness of Calypso having a crush on Aeson who as it seems doesn’t know how to deal with it, also because like I said romance is not the priority number one right now, but surviving for what he needs MC and that’s the reason he observes them. And Calypso is probably worried about him. Calypso looks at Aeson because she is worried about him, but Aeson is too occupied to think about his plans.
I’m not sure if Callie did confess directly but it seems likely that before Aeson was send to his quest they had some talk that led to the awkwardness between them. It’s possible that Aeson really did delay any thought on his and Callie’s relationship for now because of the trials and the war and the for him by now unpredictable Bearer and that delay led to the awkwardness. But I don’t think it’s the MC directly and more the circumstances? I mean in what way do you imagine the MC being the reason for their awkwardness?
I don’t think that it means much that both of them react the same, as Aeson reacts exactly the same when MC asks Adonis. I think it’s more likely that Callypso has the same reaction as Aeson, because Aeson is not available to react that way…
Nah, he just values people being direct/honest with/around him. Just look at what actions increase his relationship stat.
I think that partly, yes, it’s because of their tied destiny, but also because MC is an unkown variable in his plans. That’s most likely what unnerves him. His life depends on MC, but if they don’t want to follow his lead or decide to anatgonize him…What should he do about that? But he still has to at least try to work with them, so he accepts the dance. In his eyes his chances are probably higher when he and MC work together.
But there is a thing I really don’t understand if Aeson is in love of Cally Why He seems so equally eager to starting something with us if Relationship is high. I really think Aeson os NOT in love with Cally. And that’s why Cally wants become an Artemis nun. the typical teen IF HE DOESN’T LOVE ME I WOULD BECOME CELIBATE… well Cally has it completely impossible because Emo Mara has decided AESON IS MINE
I also don’t think that Aeson is directly in love with Callie, but more that at the moment he is somewhat overwhelmed by her feelings for him. And doesn’t know how to deal with it, also because he doesn’t have time to look and to figure out if the feelings he has for her are the ones of a friend or romantic. That’s the reason for the awkwarness.
They are in the relationship limbo, were neither has the guts to do the next step, even when it’s just a rejection.
Something like that can bring discord in a cirqule of friends that already knows each other for such a long time. And I guess neither Callie nor Aeson wants that (especially because there is a war coming)

Yes. Although, no offense to those fictional NPC’s, but each relationship has been as shallow as a puddle. They were always either based on superficiality ("You two look good together!) or status (You’re a big deal, I’m a big deal, let’s go out!) and what was expected of him. Aeson doesn’t get away from taking half the blame though, considering he never gave anyone the time of day, even in romantic relationships. He’s clueless when it comes to those kinds of things. He knows people use him, but in a way, he’s using them too.
In fact We and Aeson in thousands of years probably has banged each other and all The Olympus gods like at least twenty time each. And animals and trees centaurs… Any awkwardness is just from us players not from the characters. Asking Wont be Hades think is weird I dating Aeson like he is my brother…?
He is a god and like that has practiced or see practiced Zeus the most gruesome sexual aberrations ever… And in many myths he is not as innocent in here is portrayed. So no nothing weird or awkward. Half of gods married are brothers and sisters.

in the past, what’s holding my character back from going after him in that way now is that in this incarnation they’re (half)brothers.
I don’t know if we’ve ever had any of the Gods though, they seem to be quite weary of us.
But he is NOT YOUR BROTHER IS PART OF OURSELVES. There is no DNA so there is no damn share of blood. And even so we are the damn same person with two bodies and personalities but still one single soul. So it can’t be incestuous. So I just can’t understand were is the problem

I get what you’re saying but to my teenage mc he either feels like his “brother” or if we’re truly one person there is no point in pursuing him anyway as it would be the equivalent of a date with his own hands. (which is what I guess he would sadly be most familiar with given his life on the run).
…Not to even mention that Hades kidnapped Persephone to be his wife, who just so happens to be the daughter of Demeter… By way of Zesus. Greek Mythology really should be rated AO.
