Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

I’m really sorry if this is how your MC is taking things :frowning:

I rather think that the gods just don’t consider what MC may wants/needs. And I don’t even think it’s malicious. Just neglect after they have MC “save” on Olympus and can take care of the trials and the war.

And the Bearer is such an omnious person that everybody else just does only the bare necessities when dealing with them (Okay, maybe some of the gods are not so different in that regard): Assigning them a room, but forget about the keys, give them a scheduled but don’t explain them anything about the trials (sombody else will do), give them some clothes, because they don’t have any, but don’t tell them were they could buy some for themself.

Looking at things like that…MC can be seen as a pretty lonely person. Eventually they can get friends with Saint, Callypso, Adonis and Aeson, but they are the new one.

The new one who doesn’t know who to trust while a war awaits. Well, shit.

I think many of you consider your way is the only way to see the things. I am ok with yours, I could seem equally valid. Each one of us has their own mini universe with mini cannon In mine they strategy only gets them loose the war My character WON’T HELP THEM . You didn’t give me trust. You didn’t give me room keys you didn’t treated my like a human being. And you tried to kill me. Why in hell I would help u? You created me , i was away because one of you kidnapped me you are bulling me and mistreated me psychologically making everyone hated me and insulted me. You drugged me in the party Gods…
I can’t help you So now i am in power you are screwed I am out of the war Whoever gains is not my problem. You lost your chance when you let me hanging on. Have little shield helping you ohhh He has all glitter zero of power THOUGH THAT A YEAR BEFORE

Which we can’t do because they don’t think to give us an “allowance” of any kind anyway.

“Friends” who alternately ignore him and then treat him like a servant when they “summon” him. So, no , the scooby gang can go screw themselves as far as my mc is concerned.
Saint in particular is just as bad as the Gods themselves, he doesn’t let the mc get in two words with Nephilim or ask him the questions they might really want answered. When the answer is apparently a trivial thing to give.

The only one my mc even still wants to get to know better at this point is our “brother” Aeson, but only if we can get some alone time with him, without the scooby gang or one of the Gods hovering over us.

Except they very much don’t.

That’s the problem when nobody is declared responsible, because in the most cases nobody will volunteer for that kind of things.

Obviously in MC’s case nobody thought about that, maybe because the gods are used to mortals serving them, so they just did forget about telling others what to do, because hey, the Bearer maybe very important for the war, why would people not think about explaining everything to them…But people obviously thought that the gods already explained everything… (honestly such a scenario certainly has a comedic side)

Maybe somebody just should take the time to talk with MC…

After that utterly humiliating ceremony that will be too little too late, for my mc at least. Particularly if Saint or “daddy” are the people they might think to finally appoint for this, cause my mc really doesn’t want to hear another word out of their mouths.

And I feel like we’re all already adamant on the way we view the story so I guess we should stop beating a dead horse?

I am not adamant. And I was not trying to annoy you.Sorry. In fact some of my characters love the Gods and really believe all is for her good until she proves he worthy to be recognised . However my main characters are not that way. And I found it immensely funny same as discuss about it . I was not angry or anything Maybe adding suns and Smiling!! No, really Your option is cool and deep too.,

I’d say the female path is slightly more conducive to this, but on my preferred male path, I’m not feeling this even remotely, at all.

Let me make one last point about the education aspect of the “free” (no it really isn’t) food, clothing and education thing you mentioned.
They don’t seem to give a crap about the fact that the smart mc is already a frigging highschool graduate when he first comes to Olympus. While it’s obviously not an “elite” highschool education that is at least partly their fault, since he had to finish and graduate highschool through online courses from accredited institutions while on the run from their little psycho’s. Unlike with college or university there is absolutely zero benefit to attending highschool a second time as two highschool degrees are absolutely worthless on a resume.
There is no other explanation possible than they make him attend “Olympus High”, instead of “Olympus U” (if that exists) because they don’t give two shits about his wants and needs and because they can.
So I’m sorry but my mc really doesn’t feel “thankful” for it or the need to apply himself to any of the coursework here.

As mentioned above, my MC is kinda Candy Heron right know and she’s slightly okay with it because she has yet to grasp the full dimension of her all powerful self, but I guess as the story progresses she will be less willing to take shit from everyone, including the Gods.

I agree with you male path is more annoying and bad . I really think is a good addition to the game. I really believe shows gods machismo. Little girly na lavei could be launched to a Aeson or Adonis (could he put by Afrodite to seduce us) and be left merrily as the New Hera while our male is banging trees or animals or just glittering and giving speeches
Boy na lavei is just a weapon so noone though hey making him a housewife man

I’ve…haven’t really noticed much a difference between playing any of the gender types . Aside from how they are addressed and what sort of challenges they faced in their past life (depending on their gender of that time). It seems like, whether the Bearer is a boy, girl, or nonbinary, they always get treated with the same level of distrust and neglect at first.

Well like Mara said, there seems to be a subtle hint of machismo, whether intentional or not, running through this game, and if you play the kind of female character who really is attracted to/has a crush on either Aeson or Adonis, I find, that makes it slightly easier to accept your lot on Olympus.
It’s not a huge difference and it’s subtle but it’s definitely there and as a result the amount of loathing and distrust the female mc receives seems to be slightly less severe. Though you do need to play a girl with a pretty meek personality.

Like I said, not a world of difference and maybe I’m particularly sensitive to it because I so rarely play female characters in games that offer a choice, but after Mara said it, I had to check it out for myself and I do agree that it’s there.

I you want notice it you have to play game several times with both genders. Like @idonotlikeusernames say If you go towards gang or not some details are little different… Like people expected you should have feelings for them. Male lacking of keys is more clear and minor little stuff. Really subtle but adds a lot of depth for me

Thanks for bring that up then @idonotlikeusernames, @poison_mara; I got something new to look forward to seeing when I go through the demo.

Out of curiosity though, has anyone wondered how sexual orientation will come into play? Like, will some of the Gods (including the Bearer’s father) or some people of Olympus react differently if the Bearer becomes interested in someone that’s their same gender?

(if this is a question asked 1,000+ posts ago, I apologize in advanced).

Apolo bangs a tree formerly a nymph. Zeus has become all the zoo to bang all the woman he doesn’t saw tied and some tied. Monsters, bulls centaurs. Sexuality with boys … Incest…and Normal Cannibalism. WELCOME TO THE OLYMPICS

…It’s Olympus…It’s the greek gods…Zeus alone pretty much did it with everything…I really would say that’s a case of “Don’t throw bricks when you live in a glass house.”

Happy to help , aside from the really subtle things, like male mc lacking the keys to what is supposedly their room, the biggest difference, I think, is in the interactions with the scooby gang and whether they treat you like a servant (male) or a potential conquest/wife (female). I wouldn’t call them good “friends” in either case but in my perception being female, seemingly resulting in them having different ulterior motives does take some of the sharpest edges of their behaviour in my humble opinion, of course.

Can the MC steal Aeson away from the squad and keep it to themself? That’s what I’d wanna do.

Oh don’t worry about it, you didn’t annoy me. It’s a good thing that our interpretations are so different from one another; it gives the author feedback on how to cater to a wider audience before the game is released. Some people want the MC to be friendly with people, some want them to be angry at the injustices shown, some want them to be a bit apathetic and distant. These are all valid reactions to the circumstances the MC is now at.

And it’s true that we can all play through different MCs and go through different ways of doing things in the game, but I feel like quite a few of us (and I’m definitely guilty) have become attached to a specific opinion on the plot, the characters, etc, and those are what we’ve been representing in this thread. I’m all for throwing theories and interpretations around (as you might have seen with my tinfoil theories) but we’ve now reached a point where we are arguing about the availability of clothing choices. Rohie has already wondered why we have brought this up. We’ve said our piece clear about this topic. I, for one, think we can now leave it at that and just wait and see if she will include a scene in the future where the MC can critique the lack of choices in some regards. No need to bring this up again.

I’m sorry if I’m raining on your parade here. I understand some might feel strongly about this specific topic. Personally, it made me skim over this thread the past few days since I thought it’s now fair to let it go and see what Rohie would do with it.

Is he? I thought he’s only 17 (the age of a high school junior/senior) and has been on the run for the past couple of years (which means he dropped out around 14-15, as a 8th/9th grader)? And I think learning some Greek history or how to be a badass blacksmith could serve Lavei in the future, honestly
