Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

@Rohie I wanna cheer you and Tell you you are doing and amazing job and has created a really immersive storyline. And all people who has been in the forum awhile knows I am very sincere with my feedback.

It is the great storyline that make some of us who role-playing asking further why some stuff happen. Probably Details that you just forget or doesn’t consider important. It happens in all fictional universes and it is why fan fiction and mods exist.

However, I ask you read all our info with an open mind maybe you get some ideas. My own interpretation of the way your gods act (not what they say. The real activity) .
They doesn’t want be survive the war and they have some sort of mental control or suicidal button on Aeson. And of course we are prisioners in a literal sense. No possessions no room key no property clothes and total control of where we go or even talk.

If you want some kind of Gods wants us even if half are afraid. You have to introduction more friendly text. With keys and Athena saying something is late Mc I closed a clothing shop for you Goddess privilege don’t tell Aeson. And the clothes could be the same but the context not . It is not the same that throwing you charity clothes in your jail room Put some there are ok I guess. A and Daddy could say in the revelation Mc take this weapon I don’t want you embarrassed yourself.
Anyway Yo have my support even if you let stuff as it

I think we should give some leeway for how the Gods are being presented by @Rohie

Gods are afraid because the Lavei is omnipotent. They can’t do anything bad to the Lavei other than kill us but they can’t do that either because we’re their trump card.

And the Gods shouldn’t treat us as equal either because they rarely ever have equals. They can never see anyone as equal much less as greater than themselves because technically there never was.Chronos was defeated, the only other realistic force is the primordial gods, the giants and Typhon. If I was a God for thousands of years and you showed up being just a teen who has potential of immense power (potential because Lavei is still just one half of omnipotent power) not to mention you don’t know how to control your power at all, why should I treat you any better than normal demigods? Yes you have the potential to kill me but I can just as well as kill you while you are powerless right now it will just feel unrealistic because the Greek Gods never treat their heroes fairly.

I just hope @Rohie puts a trust system where if Lavei do too much ‘wrong’ in the Gods eyes (being too much of an anarchist) they’ll punish Lavei. Another thing I would love to be added is what all good Greek stories have: a bit of tragedy. An RO death or a self-sacrificing moment just to pluck the strings on my heart.

Ohh boy, I think you will probably have a good time here, because to cite @Rohie:

You are the damn future MASTER OF UNIVERSE AND YOUR CHOICE WOULD DEFINE THE DAMN WAR… So what a intel being would do? treat him like shit worse than everything else or trying to gaining you to your side. They treat you worse than a horse. You have no possessions. No a key to your own room, nor a weapon. If Chipmunk wants you would end homeless in the institute garden because YOU HAVE NO DAMN ROOM KEY!!! ALso no damn freedom.

While Aeson is the damn boss and possesses all the Olympus …
That’s not logical… They could Fake wanted us you know because we could decide their life and death… They were really terrible in gaining my character trust and love In fact Chronus only have to be nice and give her a room with a key for herself And some possessions to my character change sides happy.

…which means… Chipmunk likes us! (My MC is so trusting. Nothing will ever go wrong for him…)

Why should they treat you/us like a Queen? Why should they treat you/us differently from any of the other demi-gods out here? You/we get the same treatment as everyone else, because that’s what you are right now.

Like the other demi-gods, you share a room with someone else (I don’t know where this fiction of not having a key comes from, tbh). Like the other demi-gods, you are given food and shelter, clothing and education, and like the other demi-gods, you are expected to do the bidding of the gods.

And all that is because you have earned nothing and especially not trust, you are worth nothing more than the gamble your existance is to the Gods. At least, not until your are 18 or until you have proven yourself. It’s unfair, but life isn’t fair. So, until you turn 18, you have no more power than that which you get from your dad (and possibly mom), and the Gods will have many opportunities to kill you if you act out like a megalomaniac, and a lunatic. And if you think they won’t just off you as soon as you become a threat, you’re wrong. The gods are nothing if careful about beings who might have more power than them (see Thetis’s prophecy for instance), and they will rather face Cronus on their own, than to have to deal with a fully fledged Bearer.
And considering the content of the prophecy (the parts that make sense anyway), things don’t look good for us, and I don’t thing the Gods will let us off the hook. If they give us freedom, we might take it to turn against them. So they keep us close and restrained.

Also, you always remind us how the Gods are those selfish, self-centered creatures, who cares for nothing but themselves and believe they are on top of the Universe. And mostly you are right. Their reign has been unchallenged for thousands of years, so they don’t really see you as a threat (even though you are). Most of them will never do. Because they are Gods, and they never had to be afraid of anyone since Cronus.

How could a tiny little girl/boy best them? That is impossible.

Your MC walks at the edge of the abyss while being oblivious to all the dangers…I really would wish to give them a blanket. Well, at least one day they will have all the power of the universe…Nothing will ever go wrong with that.

Your opinion. I wasn’t treated as others at all!
I can’t have stuff and go shopping
Nobody explains us nothing while Aesson is treated as GOD.
I can’t move freely and I was assault half of my life.

I compare this to Harry Potter HE is treated best everyone else . Because the prophecy.
We are treated worse than everyone else let in ridicule on purpose Forced to clothes aren’t us at all. And controlled by a 15 years old Chipmunk. And STOLEN WHERE IS MY MIRROR. WHERE IS MY EXPLANATION ABOUT TESTING AESON HAS ALL.
edit Also They should PRETEND care to control us like They do with Aeson because I will be the one with the power If i win.

There’s nothing wrong with approaching people/ situations with a bit of trust and faith…as long as the first response to betrayal is this:

(Kino is the best character; she’s polite helpful, nonchalant…and will have a gun pointed at you in a matter of seconds the moment you threaten her).

Aeson is treated better than you because he earned his reputation. You didn’t.

The whole of Olympus suspects you are the person who has murdered all the seekers who went MIA. While Aeson used the past 5 years to win the Gods over, go on mission to defeat monsters and beasts, to bring back lost artifacts. He is a hero because he worked for it, sweat for it and bled for it. Why should you be handed what other have to work for , especially when you have done nothing that deserve neither respect nor owe?

Also you’ve been on Olympus like 2 days. And your main preoccupation is to go shopping?
You are in a place you know nothing of, surrounded by people you know nothing of. And you are playing a long game to which you don’t know the rules. You must have better things to be worried about than clothes. → I personally think that the lack of choice serves to emphasize the fact that you are thrown into a world where MC is considered a tool by the gods as opposed to being considered a person. It might change as the story goes along, if you win some good will.

(That said I understand the desire for more clothing options during the ceremony)

We agree in all except In how our characters see the fact. Mine are in totally Hatred Emo rampage. She in the deepest hide part of her soul believed that if she goes There Everyone would see how wonderful she is . She is narcissistic like a lot Child of Zeus. I think there was more time going on that two days classes hinted luke a week or so You had several classes To coincide with Aeson even if that not happen. it couldn’t happen in two days Time table wise.
It is not the clothes is how bluntly are presented to us ATHENA TALKS Like SHE CARE however She treated exactly as shit.
Same with daddy’s. Even if you were great and perfect no avail . Same treatment. EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THE RITUAL EXCEPT ME. why provokes us? No sense . They should fake wanting us and controlled us closely not put bluntly that we are prisoners and they hates us.

They’ve done nothing but punish us since we were 14 years old and they’ve stepped it up a notch after finally getting us to Olympus already.
Like I’ve said I don’t want to play my male character is the scared, shy and meek wallflower and if having any personality other than that is reason for punishments, the Gods are big frigging idiots.

No, but what they are doing now is treating us very much worse than all the other demigods, particularly compared to Aeson, the other half of the power.

No, we get treated worse in all respects compared to all the other Demigods and particularly Aeson.

It is mentioned twice in the male character path that the character has to knock on the door of their own room because the haven’t got the key. Which means that it was obviously never given to them.

No, or at least it is generic crap compared to what the others get.

THIS, so much THIS.

Well “daddy” Hades, obviously preferred the whole “uncle” sham to giving us a chance to do just that now didn’t he? So why should we humor him now? On the other hand he could apparently play the loving, affectionate “dad” to Aeson all this time with absolutely no problems at all. So forgive me if my mc wants to have nothing to do with the guy now.

On top of that the damned Gods tried to kill us with their psychotic little packs of seekers for the better part of three years and it never occured to them to have the only one the mc might trust “auntie” his caretaker look for him under Zeus’s personal supervision if they had to? But no, instead they imprison the only asset they had with a real chance to reach out to the mc, provided her story is true of course.
To me this proves that the Gods are incompetent, uncaring idiots at the very least, particularly “daddy” Hades.

By then we have been so humiliated and seen our reputation so utterly ruined that it will hardly matter anymore.
Like I said if they give me the cool outfit I want only after I win their stupid trials they can stuff it. After that humiliating ceremony it will be utterly worthless anyway.

Exactly with their actions in my universe they have already lost . My character would never go with them .They treated her like a sewer rat, they send killers… They didn’t give her room key and stole the mirror she save money for! Then they are rude as hell and treated her as a weapon with no explanation about what she must do. They launched me a viagra pill without say HEY IT’S A WEAPON AND WORKS LIKE THIS

Woah, I see a lot has happened since the weekend. I’m glad we’re finally out of the outfit discussion

This. The gods are the Regina George to the MC’s Cady Heron. Lavei is a threat and they can either befriend them and make them a subordinate or risk getting shoved to the side. Half of them see Lavei as, potentially, a ticking time bomb that they can defuse very easily right now. Their millennia of experience and wisdom is likely screaming at them to go with self-preservation and take care of the threat before it becomes unstoppable. I don’t fault them for being wary.

…but you aren’t. Until Lavei turns 18, you can’t do anything against the gods or for the war.

This :+1:

Not just the prophecy. He’s not known as “The Boy Fated to Battle You Know Who”. He’s known as “The Boy Who Lived”. His first act in the world is to not only survive the Killing Curse but to actually kill Voldemort with it. That is an action worthy of legend (and a Chocolate Frog Card)

If Lavei somehow managed to kill Cronus off as a baby, you can bet they would also get the same pampered treatment (minus the living in a broom cupboard and child abuse)

Yep. My Lavei is all fun and games and sunshine and rainbows since he’s starved for human interaction, but the moment someone betrays him will be quite a sight.

“Speak softly and carry a big stick” :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you ever been the new kid who moved to a new school midway through the year? Of course people would be wary of you, especially if they know that you’ll have the power to turn everyone to blueberries soon.

If the “generic crap” happens to be steak and pomme-frites (I don’t think the menu’s been detailed in the story so I’ll fill in the gaps here) then my Lavei’s fat ass is on board :imp:

Being all-powerful needs a lot of protein and starch

I (and my MC) am giving the gods the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the seekers because of the whole “black eyes” thing. That makes it sound like something/someone was controlling those people. Let’s sleuth around for a bit and see who the real enemy is first :stuck_out_tongue:

Bow down to the best comparison on this thread.

Like I said mine doesn’t because if they were oh, so concerned with bringing him in alive they must have recognised that “auntie”, and not packs of little psychopaths, would have been their best asset in order to do so.

My mc could care less about the food, as long as it’s nutritious enough, the generic crap refers to the outfits, obviously.
I like to think that he wore things with more personal style than the utterly generic crap they dump on him here while being chased by their little psychotic packs of killers.

Yes, but like I said even at my absolutely worst point, clothes wise at least, even the charity people let me pick out the pieces I liked best. That they don’t have the decency to even ask for our input in anything really hammers it home for me that they really don’t even pretend to give a crap about the mc as a person.

Well Aeson obviously didn’t and he does get the pampered treatment.

…because he’s been doing other quests whereas Lavei was, I dunno…learning what it’s like to be human and empathize with “mere mortals” so they won’t go balls-to-the-wall when they gain control of their power?

And obviously Aeson is so pretty and perfect that he doesn’t need to learn that, yeah right?

Well he’s not gonna have the power to wipe everyone off the earth. Maybe the gods want Lavei to learn that lesson since sooner or later, they’ll be powerless to stop him.

I’m pretty sure there’s a method to the gods’ madness :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s something presented in Choice of Alexandria: if you’re in charge of nurturing someone who will be stronger than you at some point, you can either pamper and spoil them (at the risk of creating a whimsical person who is used to getting what they want) or let the kid learn what it’s like to learn lessons the hard way

Yes but if we have to wait till we get that power to get anything even remotely nice it will all be worthless won’t it?
Cause after we become invincible we’ll have no need for anything anymore thus everything will become completely and utterly worthless.

Well right now it sure seems to be “humiliate the guy until he snaps”.

Yes, the harsh but fair method, but do note the harsh is best doled out in little doses and more reserved for the beginning. Point is we don’t treat that prince like a five year old who has to have his clothes picked out for him by the time he has his first love affair. If we go for being fair we also never try to kill him and can even be considered his friend.
Those are all not things I would say apply in any measure to “daddy” Hades. They might apply to “auntie” but that she never even considered our input is definitely a mark against her there. As is the fact that she never even tries to explain, our past and the whole school on Olympus and trials of the gods business to us. I mean she could have pretended to listen and then at least tried to convince us why a nondescript black suit would be “best” for the occasion, instead of treating us like a little kid who cannot choose their clothes themselves there.
In no way is genuinely listening to what your charge, or those in your care have to say equivalent spoiling or pampering them in any way.
