Anyone who kept me locked up in Tartarus for a few million years will never be my friend. I mean Tartarus is the abyss, where all the worst creatures come from.

Something like this?
Not a bad idea, I do also like the way those games are doing it, offering a handful different more general styles.
It might be, that’s something I often think about as well. When stuff I don’t like happens, I’m never sure whether it’s purposely intended as part of characterization or whether it is just my cynical attitude and social issues that leads me to overanalyzing and mislabeling innocent acts as deliberate slights toward me.
Yes, yes, the whole Nietzsche thing “for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.”
What mr Nietzsche may have failed to account for is what if you are (part of) the abyss and the abyss is likewise (a part of) you from the get go?
Besides those “few million” years are paltry to what the Gods are planning and we cannot even remember them, whereas I’m pretty sure that in Gods version we’ll be conscious and fully aware the whole damned time.
You know, I think you might be onto something here!
Since most of the works here are character driven stories I’m more inclined to go for the former.
As far as mine is concerned the Gods have had their chance they refused to do it when it would have mattered so by then it would be too little too late. Besides I’m pretty sure they can offer fairly identical options, as in anything the mc might want.
It’s amazing what a mortal body can do to forget horrible trauma. Tartarus is the literal embodiment of evil, you could ask Hera, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, and Demeter how terrifying it was. Even the three eldest gods never go down there (Also because Nyx lives there alongside her father Chaos).
Also I’d imagine it would be very difficult to recall something from that far back. Even the gods have trouble regarding what happened millennia ago (if it didn’t revolve around them).
Yes, so as long as the mc’s stuck in the body of a mortal teenager that means I should be more concerned about the gods who treat me like crap and want to use me as a weapon and then lock me away forever then whatever Chronus has done to us in the far distant past. But still as the mc is literally the universe, when not stuck in a mortal body whatever the abyss is it’s part of us, monsters and all.
If only we had better control of our powers we could probably summon some to liven up that dull ball.
Perhaps, but it seemed like the impression I got that the scooby gang didn’t really care about my MC based on them not seeming to care whether she chose to hang out with them or not was not intentional on the author’s part.
This is something I’ve also wondered about. Especially considering how defiant I’ve been acting up to this point, and how ruthless I am planing on acting in the trials, I’d imagine they’d start getting second thoughts at some point. Even the ones that initially supported me must start to notice soon that I’m really not a good person and I don’t like, trust or respect them at all. Unless they are very stupid (which I don’t think they are) or very arrogant (which they might be), they’d have to start questioning eventually if granting me immortality could in any way end well for them.
Whatever Cronus did to us, it was what? Billions of years ago? While the gods have been screwing with us all this life, at least one other life, and probably many more we can’t remember. I’m willing to at least meet Cronus and give him a chance before I judge him.
Yep, that’s my plan too. Besides making friends, why destroy someone you just met and really, hasn’t done anything in the past millennia besides rot in a prison? Our only impression of him so far comes from the gods’ skewed opinion of Cronus.
Warning: I’m about to put on my tinfoil hat
What if this part of the prophecy:
When I have the Essence by my side
They will create a great divide
And when you see that there is no truth in your belief
…isn’t about the divide between the Titans and Olympians and their mutual desire to destroy each other? What if it’s a divide between the Gods, who want to destroy the Titans, and the Titans, who are willing to live peacefully with the Gods? What if the MC will have the choice to go aginst the Gods’ belief and decide to not fight the Titans? I’ve posited the theory before that the Titans could be a representation of nature and natural forces while the Gods represent humanity, civilization, and man’s dominance over the world. What if this WiP is a metaphor for global warming and climate change and the depletion of natural resources (I, like @Rohie, grew up in California and witnessed its years of drought. I think it’s safe to say that climate change is a real thing lol)?! What if the Olympians are the bad guys?!
Note: I just came from reading theories on how Daenerys Targaryen could be the villain of Game of Thrones so I’m in the mood to cast characters perceived as “good guys” as the villains
My character would observe Chronos behaviour closely. . If He is respectful, give me my own big suite and clothes treating me as a valuable ally and not like a sewer rat. My character would say to him Look I don’t know if trust you but I certainly don’t trust them who didn’t even Give me a princess clothes and a room for myself after sending killers against me. So yeah we kill them all and then we divide the universe or whatever
Because I could kill him if I need but I could create another land I personally first stuff I would did as mistress of universe Would create an alternative virtual Earth where Harry potter universe exist … And create my own character and role-playing it in reality!!! Like I say I am not a dominant tyrant I just want have good time and role-playing…
In the beginning we still need him to believe that while we unlock the full extend of our powers, hopefully with his help. As we, unlike perfect Aeson, have as yet received absolutely zero training in this.
Besides if he’s true to his words and doesn’t backstab us or treat us like @poison_mara so eloquently put it “sewer rats” there’s no reason not to reward one’s loyal followers.
Nah, Humanity will be free from Emo Mara, She would be happy in a virtual universe playing as a badass Slytherin student and maybe as a model In Witch heart the teen magazine! And then be a syth in other life and … there are millions of adventures to life
I don’t understand the fuss over clothing. I added the ability to wear clothes day to day simply to make living in the Institute seem as tedious as possible; it’s not as if you recieved rags, it’s the same fine attire all other students receive (with the exception of Calypso). The Gods aren’t exactly concerned with fashion, and neither am I at this point. I mean, considering you’re on a mountain however many miles away from civilization, I doubt you’ll have that much choice in attire…but, I digress. The point is; if I were you, I wouldn’t look too much into it. Your character is customizable in terms of being able to choose every aspect of your appearance, and even the option to choose your own mood for the day, in addition to how you respond to certain situations.
Forgive me if I don’t get the point. Oh, but the input system does have many possibilities. You probably won’t have many chances to use it now, though, considering where this story is heading.

Some readers might feel like they’re being forced to be around the gang, which I know can be somewhat suffocating. I didn’t want all of the characters to feel railroaded. So, it’s up to the MC for now. Some people are playing as extremely self serving MC’s with no desire to bond with anyone, so I can’t exactly forget about them too.
Also, Aeson trained himself, just as a Mage MC did.
It may be the same quality and approximate value but the mc’s wardrobe has no sense of style, from what I got out of it all the other students at least have clothes that fit their own sense of style (which is very important for many teenagers, including my mc) while the mc receives some drab and boring things. His choice of casual would not be jeans a boring white t-shirt and some plain sneakers.
And definitely Aeson as well.
As for the ceremony, not being able to choose our own suit, yes even if it’s of the same quality and value as what most the others wear really stings. That is also where I really want my mc to put his foot down, they may be able to make him wear the same pair of boring jeans every single day, like the American inmates of yore, but he’s not going to a fancy event in something they just slapped together for him without even soliciting his input first. If he really must he’ll do it in the same boring pair of jeans he’s always condemned to wear.
Again anything they offer the mc here utterly lacks any trace of personal style. Everyone gets suits matching their personality and taste and we get to be a penguin in dull black and white or some bog-standard armour, no matter how expensive it may be, it’s dull and boring and again utterly lacks any trace of personal style.
Just without all the nasty ability blocks holding him back right? Or he at least seems to have lost them at a far younger age then we did.
He likely also doesn’t have to suffer an annoying roommate spying on him.
It was absolutely not meant as criticism, this is just down to a matter of personal tastes and interests. Some people care a lot about clothing and what their characters are wearing, other people don’t. We’re just different in that regard. Clearly you don’t want to put a lot of work into that, and that’s completely fine and understandable. Some authors might, but that’s just down to what they are interested in writing about. The custom outfit form was just a joke.
I still very much enjoy the story. Obviously every detail isn’t perfectly tailored to my personal preference, but I’d never expect that either. The clothing thing is honestly really not a big deal. I’m sorry if I came off as complaining, it was certainly never intended as such.
Yea, I strongly suspect now that this is just my personal feelings getting in the way. I have self-confidence issues, so I’m liable to think that everyone dislikes me and wishes I would just get lost, unless frequently assured that people enjoy my company and wants to spend time with me. This is just my natural outlook and it affects how I view social interactions. As a result, I wouldn’t consider myself a good source for characterization feedback.
