Are they even needed to do those jobs? Things worked out before them too. Maybe the gods existing and meddling with everything causes the need for them? They always have to correct all the things they mess up without noticing…
Eh, my MC isn’t a show-off, she’s actually very humble. But when she is better at something than everyone else, she isn’t averse to cheekily informing people so when the timing is appropriate. She’ll also utilise the thunderclaps when she wants to be heard though; that will always be her go-to, never mind about Zeus. One of the things she’ll do first is establish that she’s way more badass than Zeus.
i still prefer a option to make them mortal and give em a taste of what our mc have been trough all his past lives.
(when we win the trials and our immortality, turn all the gods mortal, demigods included too if possible , then a maniatic laugh in the arena xD)
@Nyxerie is of the same mind as I am regarding the gods… they are perfect for what they do. Now, mixing up the pecking order of the god’s pantheon would be fun… Imagine if Zeus and Ares changed positions… or perhaps Hera and Artemis.
I know most everyone in this thread loves Saint but I don’t. From the very beginning he seems like the spoiled favorite with the attitude to go with it.
I’m actually with @Nyxerie and @Zolataya in regards to the Gods; giving them a taste of their own medicine would be all well and good, but they’re extremely good at what they do; they’ve been doing it for millennia. If the Gods were to be stripped of their powers, the world would go into chaos. Sure, we could perform those duties in their place, but that would be far more responsibility than Thora is prepared to take on. She isn’t irresponsible, not by a long shot; but just because we can do it better than the Gods doesn’t mean we can perform the jobs more efficiently.
Never said that it’s only something a showoff would use, but for a character like @anon4518890’s who wants the gods to sufffer, it would work better if said MC is a show-off/a little bit sadistic and not only someone who wants to get the job (making the gods mortal) done.
No, I didn’t think you did, but I’m merely reinforcing that people will soon recognise the rolling thunder as something Thora does when she’s pissed off rather than Zeus.
I get this image if the guitar solo from ‘Hail To The King’ by Avenged Sevenfold playing when Thora is creating dark clouds and deafening thunder while everybody craps their pants in terror while she does so.
We know for a fact that Hades in charge of keeping the souls of the dead in the Underworld. Crap Job, he can keep it.
We know that Poseidon deals with Giants and other merry monsters that run amok on earth. Gets old very fast Job
We know that Zeus prevents the gods from killing one another, and everyone else while they are at it. He is a glorified referee ( a solid one at that, even if he is a bad husband, and a “person” of questionnable morals). Crap Job.
So… The gods do have a purpose, even if they are a pain to deal with! Perhaps you can take turns at making them human!
For now. We don’t know what consequences in the build of the world the war will have, and how MC will be able to influence that. We only know that in the end the mortals will know again about the gods. No idea how that will change society…That means in case that human society survives.
Or MC just destroys everything to rebuild the universe again. No gods needed in that case. Correcting the old mistakes, you know?
they did nothing in the past to help the bearer, and now they want him/her to help them… to use him/her…
if i put myself in the bearers place, i dont think i will ever forgive them
(and aphrodite the 1º in my list for manipulating helen xD)
you are forgetting that the gods play with human lifes and make them fight each others, etc for their own fun… hows that a good job?
Are they? Just because you have the power to destroy the world doesn’t mean that you have to do it. They could keep the status quo. They could try to bring about change, little by little. They could grab their RO, and leave Olympus behind.
If you pay attention during the Ceremony, you will notice that Aphrodite didn’t know that the B&B were involved in the Trojan War. We suspect that the gods cannot recognize us in a mortal body.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think that most teenagers/young adults would realize that one can never be prepared or wise enough to carry the reponsability of the whole universe!
I’m not saying they’re of exceptional moral character. Most of them aren’t. But just because they are morally compromised doesn’t mean that they are bad at their job; the world has survived due to them, and even flourished in most aspects.
One doesn’t have to like the Gods, but seeing how the world hadn’t completely devolved into anarchy, one must respect them. As they themselves respect the Bearer, even if some of them don’t like him/her.
They still have to make the decision. That’s what I meant. And their decision will have big consequences. That alone is a position of immensely power. No matter what they will do in the end.
So, yes, they are in the position to decide what is or is not good for the world.
Western modern morality does not apply to ancient Greek gods. They do what they do because that is what they are made to do. The gods are operating more on the morality of ancient Greece and it would be best to recognize that their morality is not ours and our morality is not theirs.
Yes. I never said otherwise. Should they survive the Gods and their Trials, Cronus and the War, no matter what decisions they take, it will have dire consequences!
What I was saying is that when you’re 18 you are never as wise as you think you are! That’s the beauty of being 18. Now the problem is that MC will be 18 and have enough power to a lot of damage even if they don’t really want/intend to!
When you talk about a new era after world I can’t stop myself from thinking in the Song The age of Aquarius
Edit In special this a Spanish glorious version
