Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Calypso still has the bow, but apparently Adonis has the sword, and Aeson has a scythe (likely due to his status as Hades’ son). Saint apparently has a lightning bolt as his weapon, again probably due to his status as Zeus’ son.

There isn’t many weapons that could be original to the MC, but @Rohie did say she was implementing Mjølnïr into the game due to popular demand (including yours truly). I don’t know what back-story will be implemented there if at all, but what I do know is that carnage will be wrought when my MC gets hold of Thor’s Hammer.

I prefer the term ‘creatively stimulated’. :innocent:

Yep, what happen when a group of authors/ readers/ creative get together, always some sort of “creative” writhing that gets out of hand.

Of course, not TOO out of hand; gotta draw the line somewhere so that we respect both @Rohie and the others’ sense of topic boundaries.

I don’t really care about having a unique type of weapon! I’d take an enchanted blade (katana!!!:no_mouth:)/bow, even if other people have the same type of weapon. The value lies in the craftsmanship and the power of the enchantment.

Perhaps we can even ask Adonis to make us an original creation! Honestly, can you think of a weapon that would be practical and unique? (Mjølnïr is badass but absolutely not practical, let’s be honest :smirk: )

Personally, I’d want a modern weapon - a shotgun would be great.

If you’re going the route of practicality, a katana is one of the worst possible weapons you could choose; it’s made of a thin metal that’s been folded thousands of times made for the express purpose of slicing. People have to be trained to use it because if you’re planning to stab people with it, you’ll have about two or three kills before the thing breaks. It requires a technique with extreme finesse, so unless you’re a committed warrior, a katana probably isn’t the way to go.

And how dare you say anything against Mjølnïr; that hammer is my baby and is actually extremely practical if you know how to use it. Easy to carry around, not too big but not too small, and capable of utilising power attacks or elegant techniques. Again, use it properly and nothing can stand against you. Unlike your precious katana; my baby would destroy that overhyped sword more times than is even funny :sunglasses:

This means you fail; unless your Thor… just saying.

I agree, but mostly, the problem of the katana is just that it is quite long and heavy, otherwise all swords and long blades are sharp and unpractical. But since you’re a demi-god, even at your weakest you’re probably stronger that most.

I do like Mjølnïr! But you have to admit that it is a hammer.:innocent: ( yes, the coolest hammer ever, but i feel like I should push my point or loose my face) Just because it is not absolutely practical doesn’t mean it is any less cool! But remember that maybe you won’t exactly get Mjølnïr in the game.

@Zolataya Guns! Yes! Summum of practicality!

Just a heads-up…my MC is called Thora. Guess who I based her on? So I think she’ll be fine.

I’m not expecting a complete replica of Mjølnïr in the game, that would be a bit foolish. But Mjølnïr itself is a part of Norse mythology not Greek; I’m honestly surprised it’s going in the game at all. But to make it different than the Norse version it probably would have to be different. I don’t know if I’ll be able to harness lighting or if Thora will be the only one who will be able to lift Mjølnïr, but even if it’s just a powerful hammer then I’ll be happy; Mjølnïr has been my favourite mythological weapon since I was young.

Well, if Saint can use lighning bolts, you can wield a powerful hammer that controls lightning/creates shockwaves! As long as Zeus is your father!

That’s the thing; Poseidon is most always Thora’s father because she’s a badass warrior. Soo…harnessing water could be just as badass. Unless you’re not around water. I could potentially manipulate the hydrogen and the oxygen in the air to make badass displays.

And I will regret not being able to induce a massive thunderclap when I’m pissed off. That would have been brilliant. But since clouds are made up of water and air, I could technically rapidly increase the pressure and temperature within the clouds to create the sound of thunder. Which would also be as badass.

Actually, you’re onto something, when I think about it. Harnessing water is much more useful than lightning. Much better pressure tool!

Think about it : without water nothing can survive. The crops and plants die, the land dies. Without water, no storms, no rain, no thunder. Oh and also no humans, because we, poor mortals, need a lot of water only to survive. Our body it like 70%water. All those deadly possibilities!:smiling_imp:

…The MC is the Essence, they literally are the power that created the universe. I don’t think they are that limited by their father when it comes to magic and cool stuff. They already can do bigger stuff as normal demigods, who says they are in anyway limited to a godly domain by parentage?

Pff, when MC is really a show-off they probably could imitate the effects other demigods can create (at the latest after they got access to all their power) “Oh wow you can make thunder? Let me try out if I can do the same with the Essence”

@Nyxerie I like the way you think:

Bloodbending…Bloodbending!!

Ooooh, that completely skipped my mind; bloodbending would be so evil! …but so tempting.

And Sammysam is right @Nyxerie; with the Essence I could probably manipulate thunder at will, and I’d probably make Mjølnïr unliftable to anybody (including the Gods) but me; just to let everybody know that my baby belongs to me.

And @anon4518890 can you even imagine how intimidating it would be for you to be able to summon a clap of deafening thunder when you’re angry or annoyed; you can be the most socially inept or arrogant person in the universe, but when Thora screams “ENOUGH!” while a deafening thunderclap rolls as she’s commanding it, everybody would know that they’ve finally gone too far.

why imitate thunder, when you can like make all the gods mortal again and laugh in their shocked face xD

Great minds think alike!:raised_hands:

Didn’t Rohie mentionned that we only have access to all of the Essence after we turn 18?
I imagine that before that, we will have to make do with the power we get from our father, and possibly our mother from the looks of it! And scraps of the Essence.

@anon4518890 @Sherlock221B So you evil masterminds will have to wait to exert your dominion over the gods and the world!

First showing off that you can all the things they can, see the horror on their faces and then strip them off their powers and immortality. Like I said: the option for a MC who is a real show-off.

Nah, from the sound of it when talking to Aeson, demigods generally can’t use magic, only what they got from the source of their godly parent.

Both Aeson and the MC are already expections to that, because of the Essence. They may didn’t already reached their full potential, but what they are able to do is much more as normal demigods can do. Having all of the Essence will only multiply that potential.

Those are just scraps! …And it seems that scraps of the Essence is the fabric of the Gods!:yum: Imagine what we will become when we get all of the Essence! No wonder the Bearer can’t survive that much power long!

Ps : I don’t want to strip the gods of their immortality! Who will do their jobs! Not me that’s for sure. I am too young for this shit.
