Don’t forget though, Poseidon can go from happiness to anger in a second. He’s like the ocean he represents.
Yes, a long time ago @Rohie indicated the great earthquakes and other natural disasters are a result of his anger - don’t forget that.
Oh yes, I have no doubt about that.
That’s why I said that he seemed very sweet to the MC. He is very straighforward, almost brutally honest in his dealings with his peers. He is also carefree and prompt to laughther. In a fewer words, he has a very strong, forceful personnality.
And you see this strong, willful and forceful man(god) being very careful and kind suddenly. So, I imagine that he feels a least a little sorry that he couldn’t be there for MC during their childhood, and he is trying to make up for it. However he can and a bit awkwardly. He must not feel sorry very often…hence his soft demenor when dealing with us.
But he believes we can be a true hero.
dad stop
I may or may not have paid attention to the stat relationship labely things before now. Ugh I love it. It must be horribly complicated to code for poor Rohie but I think that’s what makes it even more awesome. (or I’m just still reaally bad at CS)
My MC has a strict set of morals and just generally tries to be the best kind of person she can given her circumstances, so I can’t really see her angering him. Not intentionally, anyways…
One of my reasons for having my MC please everyone may or may not be so I can read the relationship descriptions change…
It’s also the whole, middle brother routine.
Everyone loves Zeus and everyone fears Hades. He’s smack-dab in the middle. which is why Saint said he can be the loudest guy in the room or the quietest. He is the immortal incarnation of middle-child syndrome.
Percy Jackson summed it up like this: "Well you aren’t as awesome as Zeus, but you ain’t as
I feel like most of the people in this thread love Uncle Henry and are unsure with Zeus
I just couldn’t help to find funny trust in those gods, and rolling the eyes of my goody characters. I wouldn’t trust any of them lol. However, Elizabeth Macbeth Victoria is all faking love them. While Emo Mara is just emo mara… WHATEVER go to pursue animals in a farm daddy, and let me be. Emo is all fun!
How did you know!???

Oh just a guess…
Aseon: You two are truly cut from the same string; if he could die for you without ending your life, he would without hesitation.
Though seriously I cannot get the idiot to like me, so I decided to make him hate me…it worked well
It can be hard to really hate the people that have always been a part of your life…sometimes
. Jokes aside, Uncle Henry was shown to be a caring positive part of the Bearer’s life when they were really young and is still shown to care about them when they are older; that is a big plus when your uncle still stands to defend when you are being confronted with other Gods who have reasons to want to kill you on sight.
As for the Zeus thing, it probably stems from his general behavior, Saint’s description of him, and the fact he is the King of the Gods who came up with the idea of using the Bearer/Bestower in the first place. As far as some may be concerned, he is much more aloof than a father should be (all the while asking quite a bit from a Bearer who just finds they’re his kid) and is the one who (as Saint puts it) has the most selfish reasons for liking the Bearer. There is also the fact that you HAVE to kill Saxon in order to get a chance for him to be your father in the first place (the same thing applies to Hades too but, like I said, he shows his care for the Bearer more openly than Zeus). Though part of me wants to say a good deal of that aloofness stems from the fact that he is more or less a king who can’t always show too much favoritism and has to be impartial to things at times (especially in the Bearer’s case, since a good deal of the other Gods still want them dead, one of them being his wife). And I get the feeling he’s awkward with children, just like Poseidon, but it comes off differently because of said aloofness. I guess only a Bearer who has Zeus for a dad and genuinely tries to get along with him may only know if there’s a genuine parental soft spot in there somewhere.
I see Zeus as someone who focuses on the forest instead of the trees; he can’t/won’t/shouldn’t spend too much time on individuals (and each of his numerous off-spring lol) because he has a responsibility to not only rule and guard Olympus and the skies but also to keep the other gods from tearing at each other. Hades and Ares almost had a fun little battle royale until Zeus intervened.
Also, he can’t show favouritism. He has to be an example to the rest of the Olympians. If he goes around and assists his children directly, what’s to prevent more and more divine interventions? He is the God of Justice, Hospitality, Lightning and the Skies.
Poseidon is the Sea-God, Earthquakes, Horses, and Destruction. For people who lived on an island, enraging Poseidon was unwise.
Exactly. Zeus’s aloofness could be due to impartiality
Hades was actually the best of the three. He always follows his oaths and does truly care about being just above all else. The problem is, he was always alone, his family never wanted to spend time with him, and he grew bitter and angry. Which is why he allowed Heracles to take Cerberus when he respected the rules of hospitality and asked the master of the house if he can borrow him.
Hades agreed on 3 conditions.
- You can’t harm my dog.
- Never do this again.
- Who put you up to this? (Hera) he paid her a visit and knocked Hera off her block.
I do want a mentioning of what happened when Apollo did decide to try to fight Poseidon in hand to hand combat (Poseidon can flip mountains with his trident, like we can flip pancakes with a spatula).
Well that’s enlightening!
Get it? Apollo? Light? Hahaha
You would be singing a different tune if Apollo disliked your humor.
You would be singing a different tune if Apollo disliked your humor.
Well he can try to cure me of my humor but I will not bow to him!
