If he was capable of wielding that kind of power effectively then I find it extremely unlikely that the Gods would have been able to defeat him in the first place. Granted he could have honed his powers after all these years, but he has been locked up in Tartarus after all. I do fear for the arrogance of the Gods in this regard though; they should still be cautious.
Sorry…
I just don’t get to use that word much, I jumped on the occasion!
You probably mean in regard to Calypso? Because Saint is represented against the sky, Adonis in the foam of the tide, and she appears with a bow.
Maybe you’re right!
I got it guys! The Bearer wanted a sibling and asked the Gods for one in that innocent way any kid asked would ask to have a sibling. They awkwardly tried to avoid the topic by saying they didn’t have the time to create a sibling for them
…so the Bearer, being the innocent little kid that they were, decided THEY would create their sibling since they had time. And ended up using a bit of their Essence to literally create another human life. When they went back and happily introduced the Gods to the brother they created, all of them were shocked and unnerved by the power the Bearer displayed as a child. The end result was they kept the young boy (who Athena names Saint), and Bearer had someone to play with for a while before being taken away from Olympus!
(Naturally, I’m joking
).
Perhaps the skill they have accumulated over the years? I’m sure Ares flourished in the 20th with the dawn of modern warfare and new weapons. Maybe Poseidon is stronger now with melting ice caps and rising sea levels?
@Sherlock221B The way I see it (according to actual mythology so I could be wrong), the gods represent aspects of humanity and civilization (wisdom, sea-fare, technology, control and ruling [in the case of the Trinity]) while the Titans are the natural forces at work and their conflict is “man vs nature”. In this case, the titans don’t just control their affinities, they are their affinities (Gaia is the Earth, Helios is the Sun, Oceanus the oceans, etc) and Cronus/Chronos is time itself. Maybe the gods’ victory wasn’t as glorious as it seems? Maybe they barely squeaked by? Maybe they cheated?
I at least think that the dreams probably also aim at who brings the most conflicts for the characters. Saint, no matter if Zeus is his real father or not (though by now most things points at it…I really liked the “Saint is a mortal” theory…He could have been the badass normal of the group.)*, certainly seems to have some issues with Zeus (his evasion and hestination at the ceremony) and the problems between Adonis and Aphrodite are impossible to overlook. And similar is it a conflict for Calypso to participate in the trials and maybe even fall in love with the MC while at the same time she really badly wants to be one of Artemis’ hunters.
* Or maybe I just had a hit with “sharing a womb with the Bearer withdraws every halfgodly energy you have” and in the end both is true. I really like my epileptic tree theories.
I love this crack theory, but I more love the possebility that Priscilla just has a talent to give her children questionable names. (Just watch Saint’s reaction when choosing the name Nyx).
Perhaps they even used the Essence.
(kidding)
Though I believe that Cronus cut out the work of the Olympians for them, didn’t he? In Rohie’s Universe he created the Bearer and the Bestower by collecting the Essence from the Titans, who had a lot of it contrary to the Gods who have barely a small fragment of it. He is the one who killed them, not the Gods.
Saint and Aeson: 6’2 Adonis: I have no idea. But I imagine he’s taller than Calypso, but shorter than Saint. Calypso: 5’8. Sage: The angry goblin at an outstanding 5’4. Psyche: 5’6. Santiago: 5’11.
She does.
!
Are you trying to say that the custom names we gave our MCs are “questionable”?
… Does that exclamation point means I am completely wrong?
Because if it does, I won’t be able to explain where that idea came from. But it is rooted deep in my subconscious.
Well, MC’s mother may have a talent for questionable names but even a broken clock is right twice a day, custom names are those times.
@Nyxerie I rather think you have it right. And the exclamation mark is for everyone else who forgot about it?
The Essence that had flowed through the first Gods and Goddesses had then flowed through the Titans as well. The Essence had been a pivotal turning point in the War of the Titans, and one of the reasons the Titans had been so successful. Knowing this, Cronus collected all of the Essence from himself and his siblings, then killed them.
Directly from the history section of the game.
I actually chose that name for the fun of it on one of the play-throughs; I could practically see the deadpan expression he had when an MC named Nyx says her mom most likely named her
.
Strangely, the girl option seems to have more name meaning choices than the boy option. You know, when you don’t count the fact that we can name any of them whatever we want (this is probably one of the few games where i actually do chose the preset names offered since it acknowledges the fact that certain names have meanings and one of the Gods or your mom gave that name for a reason).
They aren’t that weird in comparison to some of the human characters. You have to admit that naming a child Gale outside of the Hunger Games is pretty strange.
Well the Spanish version Gaél is perfectly fine, I think
Holy!!! As my tiny MC is also 5’3 (like me)… I love it. Picturing her and Aeson trying to dance, oh gods
She’ll climb him like a tree.
And if Saint and MC are indeed twins he must have absorbed a whole foot of her height in the womb. Talk about rude?
I’d also like to point out the possibility of this thing called “Irish twins”. (I also apologize if that’s an offensive term to anyone but that’s what I’ve always been told it was called. Also I have Irish blood) That would make them less than 12 months apart in age, and Priscilla could have given birth to both of them within the same year, same place.
Well, MC got all the power of being the Essence instead…That evens thing out I guess?
"Haha! I’m so much taller!
"
"You won’t be when I turn you into a blueberry
"
"…ok
"
Fun fact–Irish twins are born exactly 10 months apart. I have an aunt and uncle who are Irish twins
It’s only in the last hundred years or so that people extended it to twelve months.
I’m a third-generation immigrant from Ireland on my mum’s side, y’see, so I get to hear all of that nonsense. (edit: to be clear, the first-generation of immigrants was my great-grandmother’s daughter, my grandmother, who was born on American soil, but is considered first generation, by various bylaws and such. Technically, the Barrys in my family haven’t touched Ireland in 4 generations, but legally, I am only a third-generation immigrant. Fun stuff!)
Irish twins is like the least offensive term ever, even though I suppose it could be construed as a slur, because “Oh, Irish people push out babies like crazy, because they Catholic drunkards,” or something, but nobody in my family has ever been offended by it. We wear our history with pride
Not entirely sure, but I think my great grandparents were full blooded Irish and moved here. My family is way bigger on Italian pride, though. You know us Italians…
Honestly, it gets annoying sometimes. Anyway, I used to think my dad and his older brother were Irish twins, but in fact they’re actually exactly one year and a day apart.
Just a cool possibility to think about though.
As long as it’s the same month, it counts as Irish twins. So unless one of them is born on the last day of the month and the other on the first, they’re Irish twins.
At least by current standards. I always have a mental disconnect with people considering babies born twelve months apart to be Irish twins, because I was always taught 10 and MAAAYBE 11 months apart lol.
So it’s entirely feasible that Saint and the Bearer are Irish twins, but, like, wouldn’t Saint be 18 already, then? I don’t recall if his age is ever mentioned, but I always got the feeling that he was the same age as our character–just as Aeson and Calypso and Adonis are.
I never got into the specifics. I had to google it right before I posted. I mean, I was a dumb kid who used to think I was older than my brother just because I was born in July and he was born in September.
My uncle was born June 2nd, 1962 and my dad was born June 3rd, 1963. So very nearly??
I guess it’s possible we’re a little bit older than Saint? Maybe? I’m so not good with theories! I’ll just put away my tin foil hat now…
