She seem like the possibly the most reasonable of the ones who hate you, so I could see it happening (once it’s explained why she’s not too keen about the Bearer being a Hero anyway).
But right now I’m busy picturing the Bearer returning successfully from the first Trial with the others, only to be greeted with the strangest welcome ever: four of his God uncles and his father holding back a extremely pissed off Ares from getting to them after he learns that they asked Calypso to dance (and possibly made a move on her). Meanwhile, Aunt Athena is laughing uncontrollably from behind the men, and other females are either rolling their eyes or trying to hide their own laughter.
(On a side note, I get the feeling she’d raise an eyebrow at Adonis possibly because Aphrodite’s children, in particular her ‘favorites’, are more known for being attractive/charming yet unbound to anyone in a romantic sense rather than being the types who become part of a single, steady relationship. So she could be a bit surprised and wary of the possibility of Adonis being genuinely attracted to Bearer enough to want an actual relationship with them).
And this, my friends, is why I have a Calypso romance playthrough. Because while she’s a wonderful character, the opportunity to play gadfly to the god of war is too good to pass up.
There is something satisfying about trolling powerful, temperamental forces (I’m in it for Cally, but seeing her father’s reaction will hopefully be a funny plus. Or any of the RO’s God parents reaction for that matter).
Though I wonder if that makes us more masochistic than players who are trying to romance Sage right now.
Because of her own complicated relationship with Hades? Because she knows that the rest of the council would never approve of the bearer and bestower loving and trusting one another, and thus making her job of helping us more difficult?
Or does it have to do with Aeson himself?
Ps: I have to much self-preservation instinct to even consider Sage as a RO.
They plan to use Aseon an the MC in the war because they are the ultimate weapons.
case closed (stands in a dark corner waiting for something else to talk about)
I’m actually excited to see if Rohie will put a public kiss scene between Aeson and MC, with the public/everyone else in Olympus squeeing that they’re a thing. And of course the gods gritting their teeth like NO.
My personal opinion not nothing into text. It has to be related with the Fate and the destiny. Even the gods are controlled by destiny… we don’t. So probably a little profecy about or with help or their reign would be doom.
I think that’s the exact opinion of all of the Gods who thought conceiving the MC, and exactly why they all thought it was a bad idea.
What I’ve never been able to wrap my head around though is why, if the MC still grows up anyway, did the Gods think the MC would be more inclined to fight for them if they constantly rejected them from birth with the exception of Aunt Alice rather than actually accepting the MC and treating them like somebody who actually mattered? I know Gods are fucked up, but it doesn’t take a significant amount of emotional intelligence.
Apparently not, since the MC is the source of ultimate power that could squash the universe like an ant. I know being Gods would corrupt their thinking process a little bit, but c’mon. Emotional intelligence guyz; I don’t have any and I could think of that.
I’m disappointed in you, Olympus Gods, for not actually listening to Aunt Alice who appears to be the only smart one among you.
Life Tip: if the bloody GODDESS OF WISDOM says it’s a smart idea to do something…you should probably do that fucking thing.
Here’s something to chew on; your strategy for the Trials. For now I have;
1.) Cunning Competetor: The most savage of the strategies. This style is
based on the “Win no matter what” policy. Focused on lying, cheating,
charming, and scheming. You’ll be better able to pull of this strategy of
your Allure+Wit are relatively high, and your MC leans more toward immoral
actions.
2.) Team Player: The most reliant of the stats. You will have to forge
alliances with other PO’s (potential Heroes) in order to successfully play
with this strategy. You’ll most likely have to make sacrifices in order to
stay in these alliances. For best results, MC’s with relatively high
strength and either morally gray and/or high moral.
3.) Lone Lavei: No specifics needed, but you cannot join alliances once
you’ve chosen this option. This strategy is based on independence, you can
choose whatever actions necessary, but there are major drawbacks that will
be revealed later.
4.) Honorable Hero: This strategy is the most vanilla out of all of the
others, but also the hardest to pull off. Specifically, you cannot trick,
cheat, or lie. Much like Aeson, you will play the Hero Role, which is
beneficial to your Council and Citizen stats. For best benefits, try
playing with high Allure and Wit or Strength and Allure (yes, it’s
possible). And yes, you can be as brooding or dramatic as you want.
Still thinking on possible strategies; I want to include one or two more at
the MOST (so “Death by coding” isn’t written on my obituary).
@Sherlock221B the gods rejected the Bearer because the Bearer was never in Olympus. The power has a little bit to do with how the citizenry react to the Bearer, but most of it has to do with our MC being a complete unknown.
As The Scooby Gang mentions, if you choose to ask them about it at the festival for Aeson, they treat him like this because they’ve known him for a very long time.
But my point is why did the Bearer have to be a complete unknown? The only reason (s)he was a complete unknown is Aunt Alice practically abducted them.
My point is when the Bearer was born, they were there on Olympus when all of the Twelve blessed them with their powers. If the Bearer being on their side was that important…why did they send him/her away in the first place? Wouldn’t it have been much easier for the Gods to keep them on Olympus?
MC #1 is the perfect embodiment of high Morality and high Strength; ass is going to be kicked during these trials with my Team Player. As long as she has Thor’s Hammer she will be beyond unstoppable.
MC #2 however is rather different. She is my psychopath MC, and she appears to be the perfect embodiment of the Cunning Competitor. “Guyz, I’m just doing what I need to win”, while secretly she’s saying (no I’m not. I hate you all and can’t wait to kill you. Bye bye forever!).
