also, to avoid being yelled at: yeah, melanin plays a large factor in skin tone, but I feel that it has a lot less of a factor in hair/eye color. That always seems to be genetics. You can have two parents with brown eyes and still have a baby with green, right? All because they both had the recessive gene for green eyes, rather than the melanin count in the body.
but then, don’t take my word for it, 'cause I am far from a biologist. I nearly failed freshman biology in high school and have not taken a class on it since.
SO YEAH, regardless of the godly DNA (which basically just seems to work however the gods want it to), Cally could have gray eyes and blonde hair through her mother’s DNA, even if her mother has black hair and brown eyes.
Depending on which Stat is highest (Allure, Strength, or Wit), along with if you killed the first Seeker Saxon (Sage’s brother), your father will be different.
Unless you DON’T kill Saxon; then your father will always be Poseidon
Yeah, it is genetic. The article was about why Polynesian and Australian natives have more percentage of blonde blue eyes than Black African people. Without talking of mixture of races (I know that sounds bad lol) so they made a genetic testing in population and they found the genome that cause it. Also Albinism is more frequently in Africa where in some countries is really frequent. Sadly there is a Albino genocide in there to using their bodies in black rituals… Damn racism. I love a Melanesian Calypso because when you say melanesian people in books? Never. Also I would vote for a Black African Zeus. I love ethnic diversity.
I’m have completely lost track of who’s related to the MC, are they related to Aseon? Is saint a long lost sibling? Who the hell is their parents, and have they been the same thor the past billion years?! Are they related to everyone in the universe because they created everything?! My God (whoever that is now!) My head is killing me, take me to Hades already…
OKAY. You can be pseudo-siblings with Aeson, because godly DNA doesn’t really exist. It does, but it doesn’t. Gods aren’t actually related to each other, because they’re pure essence (not to the extent the MC is, but yeah), rather than a conglomerate of various chromosomes. Therefore, they can pass on whatever traits they want to their progeny, I assume.
So if Hades is your father, you are SORT OF half-siblings with Aeson.
Since @Rohie said my theory about Saint being adopted was wrong (sobs deeply), I assume he’s actually the child of Zeus and Priscilla. So if you are the child of Zeus, you’re likely full siblings with Saint.
With Poseidon, your only sibling is Saint, through Priscilla. And technically speaking, even with a shared godly parent, you don’t count as related. Else all of the gods’ children would be super inbred, which means no matter who your godly parent is, your only real sibling is Saint, because only mortal parentage counts for relatives.
Aeson can be half-siblings with The Bearer if they are Hades child, but aside from that, they are technically each their own person.
Saint is…yet to be revealed as to how much he is related to the Bearer, though the implications of some type of blood relation is there (also that he and the Bearer may have met before, possibly as children).
The Bearer’s mother is Priscilla Angelis and their father depends on which stat is highest and what they did to the first Seeker.
Both the Bearer and the Bestower’s parents most likely varied throughout the billions of years they have been repeatedly reborn.
Technically, both Aeson and the Bearer may have started families in another life, but they are most likely not here due to the Essence not being something their descendants can inherit and other factors that make them not really related to anyone in this lifetime despite being the foundation of Life itself. The Gods were created from the Essence, but there isn’t an actual blood family bond with the Bearer or Bestower (who only share a technical blood relation between their respective father and mothers for this lifetime).
You’re not related to anyone on Olympus, no matter who your Godly parent
is, besides Saint. Even Calypso with all the Ares’ kids around her does not
consider them her real family; that title is reserved for her brothers and
mother back home.
Godly DNA works like this, in the simplest form; Gods take human form (how
they are presented to you now is in their mortal form), and when the
Demigod is born, they take the DNA from their mortal parents, since the
mortal form the God took is nothing more than an empty vessel that can pass
on selected traits. Ex; if Poseidon wanted to, he could have given you
a prepubescent beard at the age of 10.
So, unless a Demigod is born of the same mortal parent as another Demigod,
there is no relation.
Sorry; I thought I had the whole ‘who’s related to who’ thing figured out.
Gotta say though…all this talk about whose related to who and how the God’s DNA works has been giving me this funny mental image of the Bearer’s father having to explain how the whole thing works to them and look of pure horror of the Bearer’s face throughout it all because they are basically getting ‘the birds and the bees’ talk Greek God style at their age (or worse; Aeson or one of their friends has to give it to them).
omg, better yet, Hades-child MC is falling for Aeson and is getting grossed out about sharing a dad, so Aeson and Hades have to have this EXTREMELY awkward talk…

USE THE MELANIN, LUKE.

For green eyes it’s a little more complicated. There are basically two separate genes known to be involved. There’s one gene that has alternate alleles for blue and brown, and a second gene that has alternate alleles for blue and green. Brown is dominant over blue and green both, while green is dominant over blue. Given that green and brown occur on different genes, that may explain to a certain extent why at times brown doesn’t completely mask green and you get hazel. To my knowledge, research on what causes the variability in hazel eyes has yet to be done.
S’ok. High school biology doesn’t go beyond basic Mandelian genetics and Punnett squares. Genetics can get a lot more complicated than that…
OKAY THEN CAN YOU EXPLAIN TO ME WHY MY EYES CHANGE COLOR? I literally don’t know what to put on my driver’s license, because my eyes actually change color from day to day. My mom tells me just to put hazel.
I’ll go from gray to dark green to light green to light blue to dark blue to this REALLY PRETTY gold in the center, gray in the middle, green on the outside color (this one’s my favorite. It’s also the one I get most often).
A…Am I a Mary-Sue?
it my eye
(also it makes it very hard for me to describe myself in video games. With games like DA:I I can sorta copy my eye color, but text-based games? Naaaaah. There will never be a true Valerie in CYOAs D: )
You are assuming that they are normal people with normal values. There are not. All of them have committed incest some sort of animal sex and have banged half of humanity. Provoking wars and being the master of hell. So for Aeson and Hades there is nothing weird in that regard. You don’t share DNA and you and Aeson have being lovers MILLIONS of lives. If Zeus whom have been a swan a bull, an eagle to bang people… just couldn’t dare to say there’s something weird about it. Lol he is married to her sister and had a child born to his brain…
You wrote Aeson and Hades not Mc. Also I doubt it, Aunt taught us about gods and about the demigods. Our character does not found weird anything about that in the Institute same that weird magical creatures are nothing weird or fantastic for MC or magic
