Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

You write pretty well for a junior lol, are you in AP English?

Guys, who do you think is Aeson’s godly parent ?:hushed:

I’m not sure who I think it is, but I really want it to be Apollo.

Hades. Hades. Hades. And also Hades.
Because of drama - and we all know @Rohie feeds on our pain and drinks our tears like wine.

Considering that some (hundreds?) post ago @Rohie made a big point out of changing the scene during lunch, because Hades has only one (or maybe two in case that…You know in which case!) my bets are also on the Hades-Aeson = father-son pair.

…Do you also wonder if Aeson is a little bit pissed how much Hades cares about MC in that case? Especially when MC is not Hades’ child? In his place I totally would get behind it should dad care also for his other children, even when sometimes the green eyed monster would say hello, but in case that MC is not related to Hades…I see a storm coming. Especially considering that Aeson also takes part in the trials, but Hades seems to be set on MC’s side.

Actually, if you think about it rationally, Aeson’s life is so closely tied to the Mc’s that it doesn’t bother me.

I mean let’s imagine that Hades raised Aeson, and loves him, the fact that he would back up the MC can be a way for him to ensure the continued existence of his son, since if the Mc fails the challenges s/he will be executed. And Aeson would die too.

But if the MC is Hades’s daughter/son, I can imagine that s/he would ressent being abandonned when Aeson was not.

I don’t know, wasn’t it mentioned that it doesn’t change much about both becoming immortal, no matter which of them wins? Why else should Aeson participate, if not to improve his chances for surviving?

So Hades being MC’s cheerleader is a little bit harsh.

But the fact is that the MC has to participate in the Trials. During the first meeting with the Twelve, Hera clearly said that should we fail the Challenges or refuse to participate, we would be killed.

So if we fail, we become a liability for the gods. And they would kill us before we inherit all of the essence. And Aeson dies with us. He won’t even have to possibilty to win.

Or I could be completely wrong.

Or they want Aeson in that case on their side, after all should he win he will be a hero of Olympus. That are their rules.

Found the comment about it making not much difference by the way:

It anyway is a little bit harsh that Hades is already so set on that MC will be a hero and not Aeson. That caring goes above pure caring for MC because their life is connected to Aeson’s. Or at least Aeson could look at it that way. Emotiones are not always easy to rationalize.

Atm, probably Saint. Idk, but I’ve got it in my head that Aeson could be that little piece a crud with huge issues or that platonic soulmate.
…crap, now I’m curious if poly relationships would be a thing or not.

My bad! ( you have so much courage to go rummage in this thread!)

But anyway, I think that both the MC and Aeson could be jealous of one another.
Aeson because his father favors the MC in the Trials
And the MC, in case Hades is her/his father, for being left behind.

(And it’s not much courage, I just remebered the discussion about the topic and @Rohie’s answer, so finding the post is not that difficult )

All that makes me wonder.

If the MC fails, and Aeson succede in the Trials, what happens with the MC? Do the Gods just put their threats on hold and use Aeson as a lever against the MC? (Because we know almost all the Greek gods are vindictive and manipulative assholes.)

Well, Gods don’t really follow human rules, but most at least follow their own rules, I guess? (Even when they sometimes trick others so they don’t have to break them)

Anyway it could be that they hope with having Aeson on their side, that MC will be on their side, too. After all fighting each other may not be the smartest move, as much do MC and Aeson know.

Maybe the Second Titanomachy will be such a huge thread that they rather take their chances with Aeson, instead of killing two already trained and in the best case already “recruited” and immortal demigods?

Hm, maybe Aeson has found us indeed a loophole to better our chances to survive…

I have a hunch that they will try to bend the rules as much as their honors allows them to.

Because once you turn 18, you become the Essence. All of it. Which probably means the gods won’t be able to dictate anything to you, since you will be more powerful than them.
And Aeson, and any other demi-god you will have bounded with will become a way to control you. And most of the demi-gods seem to like Olympus and the gods just fine.

I hope Aeson and his big head will get us an exit plan. After all he has had many years to think about it.

Of course they will, but those of them that we can get on our side will probably do the same…:smirk:

Then let’s hope the majority will side with us. We will need all the help with can get!

Also I’ve been considering not siding with the gods/betraying the gods because of the whole asshole-ness, but the longer I think about it the less I like it. I mean if you boot the gods away, something else would have to fill the power vaccum, and I am not sure I feel safe about that possibility.

P.s: Also are there as many trials as there are Gods in the council?

P.s.s: @River There are no poly-amory relationships. At least I don’t think.
