So the Golona will take over the cathedral? Interesting. Are they reformers? Pagans?
The Golonas are based on the Medicis and attempt to corrupt the church. You can support the Bishop of Morodona to keep the Basilica and the Order pure. If you help the Golonas they will corrupt the church and demand money for false indulgences and try to take power. The Bishop of Morodona will basically keep the church normal.
I like it when you describe Fioris has a code of fighting , even as potential rival, they can be an honourable rival… that’s why siding with Fioris seems to be the best idea , as long as we keep our side of the bargain they will honour theirs and won’t cross us
that seems to be the wiser choice , although hopefully i can also make a bargain where they allow freedom of other faiths
There are two other faiths currently practiced in the story, although only two in the city. The main one in the city is based off of Catholicism and in uptown it is based on Judaism. Outside of the city some of the people it is similar to protestantism. If you support the Golonas they will attempt to kick the uptowners out.
Will we have the chance to play a devout character? For me, playing a largely irreligious character in a medieval/renaissance setting always feels wrong.
Yes. Being based primarily off of Italians with slight amounts of Irish and Jewish in some areas, most characters are highly religious at default. However, the family of Golona attempts to take power and remove the Bishop is simply for money and power and they are not the most religious. So far, the character’s religiosity is to be assumed highly, but due to reasons of political correctness, the religion of the character is not determined nor are too many religious events shown, unfortunately. I need to have some degree of sellability.
I understand. I would position giving an option to explore/reiterate the character’s beliefs or nonbelief is not a bad call, but you need to do what you feel is best.
I think there is an audience for experiencing religious events in this setting, both secular an religious.
But I will continue bto watch this game with interest.
Good. Nothing is final yet, so I am still working stuff out. Maybe I will hold a poll on it sometime later.
Currently, I have been inactive on releasing updates in the past week or so, because I am taking a short break so I can work on other things. Expect updates to continue soon.
Update: I am currently working on finishing chapter 1, it has been a while since I updated the game, but the next release will be coming out!
Looking forward to it
Is that so? I will definitely check this out and fix it in the next update.
I think it would be cool to see the option to play as the prince and attempt to gain more power though various different means.
I see this as a somewhat reasonable concept, but this would be a completely different story fundamentally. Their would be a lot less involvement with the planned storyline that has been constructed so far. This would change it into more of a game where you run and manage a city, against the original idea. However, it is a good idea, and I thank you for your response.
Originally I was thinking more along the lines of how do you handle politics, maintain a army, gain more power along those lines. And for the choices I was thinking more along the lines of how does the prince react with the other major family’s that technically have more power than him. For example does he lie and attempt to kill them In order to gain more power or accept his role. I guess what I am trying to say rather then being a city management game it should rather be a political game with choices that could make you nothing more then a puppet to choices making you become a tyrant. Though I do understand what you are saying I am just trying to clarify why I meant.
I suppose I understand that point. I think you should wait to see how the story unfolds and you will understand why.
i was just wondering about are city sates current place in the realms of influence at this stage
