@MichaelMaxwell
My MC is an undercover cop Working for the FBI,
And mouse is in coma.

But during the conversation with the doctor when we hack Mouse laptop in the FBI office,he says that her autopsy is completed, and that her body is going to be cremated.

Does this mean that Mouse is Dead? Or is this a bug.

Sorry, I know I probably shouldn’t be reading the comments here but can you please put a warning before it? I didn’t even know she could be in one.

Spoiler tags, people. Put spoiler tags before stuff that can be spoiler-y in nature. Benefits all of us here.

Here we go again! Back to some actions!

yeah same, Mouse died in my playthrough, but the doctor said her condition was improving, the code for mouse dying or in a coma must have been reversed so i guess this is a bug

I absolutely loved the 1st game and am really looking forward to the progress of this one.
Although there is one thing that i need to say , the FBI path in game 1 was really unrewarding and undeveloped , i hope author can fix this issue in part 2 , looking forward to this game’s full release!

I just played the demo and I have to agree with a few members here on the RO interactions, or lack thereof.

My MC was romancing Gabriel and even though he is a private person a shared glance or even a brush of hand would be appreciated so that it feels as though I didn’t just dream it up haha

I have to say I ADORE rook and Bishop. Like their conversations and things that they do are hilarious. I picked them for most of the mission stuff just for the dialogue alone :slightly_smiling_face:

A few spelling mistakes but nothing too serious. I look forward to a more fleshed out rest of the story as I was very intrigued with the cliffhanger ending. :+1:

ah man dont do this to me! I loved the first book and was so hoping this second one would come out, so first let me say thank you for everything you’ve put into the story and the game play as well its fantastic. That being said why did you gotta leave the demo with that cliffhanger im chomping at the bit to know what happens next! hahaha

Breach back again… I’m so happy !
Not gonna lie, I missed Gabriel & Michael :joy:

So I played the suite of the criminal path, my MC was involved with Gabriel and damn… where are the interactions between them ? I was waiting every “next” and nothing. It’s hard for the heart.

Then we have the ending’s cliffhanger. At first I thought oh yes it’s him. Finally. And nop. Still. Who could actually enter this room so easily and then drug our MC ? We are looking for someone who has the will and the means. And if Gabriel is really in the bathroom, imagine the daring personality ah, ah ! Suspicious…

A little incoherence : we take the phone call then 2 pages later we go out of the room where the people who call you are ? Or maybe I’m just too tired and I couldn’t read well.

The end for now : Rook is definitely too funny :joy: And I want to know more about Bishop’s painting ~.

I’ll play the rest of the demo later. Can’t wait !

I’m very excited about this sequel, can’t wait for more updates.

Btw, in case the MC didn’t romance anyone from the first game, will there be new RO’s in this one?

A bit more feedback

Impressions:

I’m not sure why, but the beginning (criminal path) feels a bit weak. Maybe it’s just because we come from the character creation and recap, instead of starting directly, Idk.
The singing does pick it up, though.
It’s not that it’s bad, it just doesn’t have that oomph factor.

I liked the FBI path more than I thought I would. Of course, I haven’t been confronted with all my betrayal and inability to completely choose a side. Yet.
It feels a bit more coherent and polished than the criminal path.

Suggestions:

Maybe raise the DC for tactics rolls? They are really easy, considering you get both tactics and intelligence as bonus. I know it was also a thing in the first game, but still.

Bugs:

The whole Mouse being dead/in a coma thing, that other’s have reported.

Grammar, spelling, etc.:

Raquel turns around without a word and walks off out of the alleyway and down the road, out of view. You wonder where She’s going.

Big ”s” in ”she’s”

I’ve been waiting for so long. I can already tell this one is going to be epic

Glad to see the sequel’s underway! I’ve only played the FBI route, but here are my early thoughts. Spoilers, evidently.

FBI thoughts

While quite a bit of it seemed devoted over to exposition rather than actually making choices, I quite enjoyed the FBI bits so far. While there was a need to find information on Greg, unlike the previous game there wasn’t so much a build-up to a big climactic event, and the PC’s first major tasks for the FBI seem relatively mundane comparatively, which I quite enjoy. That made the Cartel ambush rather surprising as a result, too.

I think I’d have also liked more description given over to the warzone that’s going on around the PC. Aside from the start the violence isn’t really touched upon. There could be sporadic bursts of gunfire around the PC reflecting on the weird state of normality where they’re not being shot at but hearing the signs of violence; navel-gazing on collateral damage etc.

The interrogation and investigation scenes appear to show that the FBI route’ll have a different tempo from the Archangel route, which would make a nice change of pace. I enjoyed the latter especially, but both scenes seemed a little clunky when transitioning between options. Perhaps it was because I was tired, admittedly. If you don’t ask O’Hara about Bodhi’s gang (e.g. if you choose the Persuade/Intimidate roll first), you also miss out on info about the Revolution, and Reville just assumes you know who they are. The Inquisition is brought up in conversation but what they are isn’t addressed either.

It would be useful if pertinent info came up/was recalled in-game more, I think it would help make some descriptions more easily understandable. When talking to the witnesses at the crime scene, instead of “the guy with the shotgun”, they could be identified as Voldy, since the witnesses can identify which masked individual had which weapon and the PC recalls the identities of the mask wearers. Ditto with “guy with the rifle” being Chuckles, etc.

The current system where the PC pieces together the clues works, but it would be nice if it were easier for the player to figure it out on their own alongside. Currently it’s a bit obtuse. Also, if the PC knows exactly what happened at the diner hit, it probably isn’t necessary for Reville to lay out his theory in full too.

One of the parts I wasn’t fond of in the FBI route is that you’re introduced to a lot of characters and in short order, which can make it hard to keep track of them all. I would also question whether it’s necessary to have so many new characters for the FBI route, but I don’t know how they’ll be used yet.

The introduction of the new characters also seems a little rushed. In the first game the characters were introduced over time; here with the FBI route you start with only slight familiarity with Reville and Salazar and then a bunch of new characters come within a few pages of each other. While it makes sense for the PC to know little about them, they lack the character establishing moments the Archangels had in the first game, which makes them seem a little like bit-characters. There’s no moment which differentiates them from being notable NPCs to side characters.

While I understand the need for a network for the FBI PC’s character, my main interest’s in the dynamic between the and their former crew. The upcoming confrontation with Greg is a start of that, and I appreciated the option for the PC to ruminate on their thoughts about him. I’d wager the FBI route has a few more potential options for navel-gazing compared to the Archangel Route. Perhaps one could also disagree with Reville’s intent to get the Archangels to do the dirty work for him?

The PC being close to Reville throughout the demo makes sense, though some might have the concern that the PC would become attached to the hip to Reville. I imagine some players went for the FBI/Informant route because of how heavily Gabriel was pushed in the former game, and so I think people would warm up more to Reville if the PC weren’t so attached to them.

Part of it is inevitable, but I think dialogue and mannerisms play a role. Reville seems very close, very familiar to the PC at times when they interact, especially when Reville asks how the PC is holding up and offering his office to them. I feel it could be more equal or professional, even if Reville is regarded as a bit of a wildcard. In general I feel the new FBI characters could be more stand-offish (especially given how the intro to the FBI route here is worded) as well, since the PC’s a complete newcomer. They could warm up to the PC in time, but addressing them by their first name in the first chapter seems a little peculiar.

Similarly, there also seems to be a lack of options for the player to be brusque, especially to the FBI people, short of interjecting towards the techs with Mouse’s stuff. In conjunction with the quick intros to several of them, the PC never really reacts with them either, which doesn’t help them make an impression as characters. I think Reville’s the one with the most galling lack of antagonistic options.

I feel there’s plenty of roleplaying justification for that. A more willing PC might be lashing out at the loss of Mouse/their crew. An informant who’s not there willingly could show their disapproval by sniping back and forth. Perhaps even to the point of being petty and wanting to sleep in the van instead of Reville’s office?

As a very minor aside, with the mention of Reville’s unmarked car, I have an urging to want an unmarked cruiser for my PC. Especially a Charger (I think it was in the first game as the Armored Sedan?) or a Taurus.

Be interested to see how the equipment plays out with the FBI QM, though. Using money doesn’t really make that much sense (especially with the PC out of the Archangels, presumably their accounts are gone too), but it would be a shame if the FBI PC was gimped in terms of customisation.

Grammar, typos etc.

They say a church is a place of sacred worship, but you’re pretty sure the bible never mentioned anything about running a full black market under a church.

“Bible” should be capitalised.

Innocent lives are caught in the crossfire, kids have go to school with police escort, and despite the city putting down a strict gun law, everyone is packing heat from the homeless guy sleeping behind the Mike Donald’s with a small semi-auto pistol in his pocket, to the bank teller who walks home every night with her 44. magnum tucked in her purse, all thanks to the holy father of illegal arms himself, Gregory Murdock.

This seems fine, but it’s a massive run-on sentence that seems a bit clunky.

He tells you that he’s glad your time with The Archangels hasn’t clouded your judgment.

They didn’t give you much of a choice when they dragged you along with the FBI’s investigation.

I feel this could be worded better: the PC didn’t have much of a choice, but given the option selected (which results in Reville being glad) they didn’t need to be compelled.

You had hoped to go back to your original colleagues back with the NYPD, but apparently, they had absolutely no idea what you were doing the entire time.

This seems like a major assumption: there are probably PCs/players roleplaying who’d be looking forwards to working with the FBI/taking down the Archangels than going back to the NYPD.

They were kind enough to give you a pistol, a covert body armor, an SMG, and a pair of handcuffs. “Bring your pistol” Reville tells you as the two of you finally pull up into the police station’s parking lot. "Almost half the local law enforcement are under The Outfit’s payroll. They’re mostly paid to turn a blind eye, but who knows. With the current situation between The Outfit and The Archangels, dirty cops will do anything to protect their reputation"

This could probably do with some line breaks. Also missing punctuation with “Bring your pistol” and “…protect their reputation”.

You leave the submachine gun next to your seat as you make sure you have you pistol and baton holstered, along with a few extra magazines.

Your pistol

On the table inside the dark room that the three of you are in on the other side of the mirror, where you hope he doesn’t see you, there’s a lone document sitting there with a very recent mugshot of the suspect.

This seems clunky, though it’s understandable. Perhaps “room adjacent to the interrogation room”/”the dark room that the three of you are in on the other side of the mirror” could just be called “the viewing room”?

After inspecting the bodies, you inspect the area where the Waitres was hit, there’s just a pool of blood on the ground, for more details you’re gonna need to ask someone else.

Waitress

Byole was a bad person, but he didn’t deserve that

Boyle

Eventhough one of them demanded money from the register

Even though

“Last but not least” she shows you a picture of the dead Outfit member whose identity has yet to be determined.

Perhaps shorten to “unidentified dead Outfit member”? Also missing comma with “Last but not least,”

he’ll be fine, just gotta get some occasional rest if possible. 6 hours a day at least.”

Missing capitalisation

Quartermaster’s Armoury

British spelling of “Armoury”

Letterman says, sitting on the other side in front of Collins. His short and neat His salt and pepper combs into a slight twirl.

Changed sentence?

He knows the ins and outs of The Archangels, so he will be cruitial in taking them down"

Crucial

“Well, we captured no one, our friend here almost died,” Reville gestures to you “her friend too.” He mentions Mouse.

Mouse’s pronoun is used here, I think. My PC was male and Avelyne was Mouse.

Greatly looking forward to see how this develops.

@MichaelMaxwell – Congratulations to yourself and Ben for reaching this milestone.

Thank you for the Emily character, and including my mask as a choice during character creation. I am again honored you wrote her and included the small details of this nature.

Feedback – There is a major content error…

i chose the sewer plan, bought C4 to blast the sewer security gate and the plasma torch option for the vault door… the game took me to the content for sawing through the sewer security gate and to have my tech person open the door.

Also, your chosen style on DashingDon’s does not allow for a black background. Please change the style to one that does.

Thank you.

@MichaelMaxwell I never played through the FBI path in the first game (I did in the demo), but I’ve always thought it would be cool if your codename changed and you were referred to as Lucifer after you were outed. So Lucifer hunts down his fellow archangels.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I’ve played bridge a whole bunch of times, and can’t figure out how to romance Rockwell, as far as I can remember you can’t give her that necklace thing you get from the jewellery store. Unless you were supposed to do that one first? I always do the vending machines first.
