MC cannot erase the fact that Fion is close to MC’s mother and actually trusted by her.
Regardless of MC opinion of Fion he is the last of MC’s mother legacy in this world, MC will still be angry because of that.

I can see several valid approaches to those scenes, though given the complexity I’d understand if the author wanted to keep them as they are or limit options to 3 or maybe 4 at most
For my MC, Sir Fion has been taking care of him. He protected him during the attack that killed Mom, and has been an instructor and protector since. He’s more a parent to MC then Eleazor has been (who has been more a drill sergeant).
So while my MC understands that he committed the crime of kidnapping, thus he had to be punished, he refused to be the one to do it and then defended Fion’s honor in death when it came to burial.
I’m also playing my MC as cold and cruel, and regardless of Fion’s intentions, there’s no way my little war machine—even as a child, especially after massacring the mothers killers and her own people without crumbling at the loss like the father—would give a damn about killing an idealistic knight on a payroll who drugged her and tried to smuggle her away.
Sure he’s the mothers friend, but my MC wasn’t close to her either so
She’s power hungry, malicious and quite honestly lawful evil. Dude was cooked to think she wouldn’t chop his head off and move on for the audacity. And I don’t see her being mad at the father for his reactions either since hers are so callous, but it’s linear at this point to be mad at him for his behaviour, so instead I just head canon her being pissed off at him for still being sad about the mother’s passing cause she’s an asshole.
Honestly, I understand why other readers might see Fion as a hero. But there’s just no way my (worse than) mini-father MC would have ever gone happily with him when she took literally every opportunity to become powerful and feared, and only ever cared about Hayden.
Dude should have read the room and let her evil ass be. Child or no.
Yeah, as I said, I can see multiple viable paths that a person could feel and/or play their MC through those scenes. The game just needs some reworking to either provide some of the potential paths through or alter the set-up and framing of the scenes beforehand to make the “being angry at father” less of a continuity yoink.
You’re so real for this. I’m also playing a war machine mc, I can’t wait for the dragon gift that dad will give just to up my threat level.
Ah, I do understand and agree that their should be a non-caring option for more violent or cruel MC’s.
I have my MC thinking about it more… pragmatically (?), in the sense of one must ask “Why —>Kidnap<— me?”
And nothing (to mc) will be a good enough answer for that, because even if Sir F was to argue it was for the MCs own good well… why not Ask MC first? See if MC agreed or not?
And I can see how it could be argued “Well MC is still young! They wont know better” etc etc but , if it was purely for the MCs own good then MC should have been asked first. Instead Sir F drugged us n was gonna what? Tie us up with a gag incase we tried to fight it?
Bro is for sure guilty of something. MCs only hesitation was information on who else was in on it.
Yeah, that’s why my MC wasn’t going to defend the kidnapping. He wasn’t asked, so it WAS kidnapping. But he won’t stand for the body be desecrated after, out of respect for what Fion did for him in life until that point.
Now the question is if MC is too cruel how the world and MC’s companion react to it? Some happy, some probably okay with it some disgusted or just abandon MC? Author do say there is check and balance to everything including the good path.
Being Pacifist is not without difficulties like MC getting slave brand rune because they’re too good, people taking advantage of them, etc.
Being cruel also have it’s downside, can’t expect people to fully sympathize with cruel and tyrant MC that’s and other repercussions.
I play a character that was attached to their mother’s hip, but looked up to their father and desperately wanted his validation, for him to be proud of them. Thus they tried to emulate him even though they didn’t always succeed- like failing the first time to kill a man. However when their father was standing over them they couldn’t let him down despite not wanting to do it… which then led to them finding comfort in hanging out with Hayden and developing their childhood crush When their mother died they lost themselves further, murdering the rebels, and forming into someone much colder, losing most of the softness to them. Through this they still loved and respected their father though. Making the choice to take on his part of the work to support him. Even as he became more paranoid and surviving the training they understood that it was coming from a place of fear for us, but the situation with Fion was the breaking point. He was like a 2nd father figure to them as well as a reminder of their mother. So… being forced to publicly execute him themself really messed them up and finally shattered the illusion they had of their father. They didn’t agree with Fion’s actions and did consider it a kidnapping attempt (though they understood what he was trying to do,) but he had been loyal to the family for so long he at least deserved to be exiled or something instead.
All added up to a MC that’s cold, but not cruel- just hardened. They tried to talk the nobles down, warn them that our father would kill everyone if he showed up and then killed all their soldiers and took over the camp when they refused to surrender. Someone who is not afraid to do what needs to be done, but saved a dire wolf pup bc it’s just a pup, and who would defend their friends and loved ones with their life.
It’s really cool how different everyone’s MCs can be and the journeys they can go on to get there! I’m super excited for more, especially this mysterious academy arc I keep reading about
Well, yes that’s the beauty of Choice game everyone is different.
For me it’s generally like you.
My MC is her own person, she always want to strike balance, she is not averse to fight it just a fight is extension of diplomacy violence is a tool albeit last resort, it’s highly inspired by my own life story, no matter what I do it never enough parents always raise the bar higher, they praise me, reward me, we’re pretty comfortable financially and they spoil me rotten but always demand higher and higher result, while this do boost my academic result and standing in my family, I am annoyed even stressed at the time by this but I also realize it was for my own good, for my future as well.
This reflect on how I play my MC, my MC is the one that doesn’t want to fail or I am afraid to fail, I can’t fail I do whatever it takes, even if leave bad aftertaste, as for morality I try to be fair, I am much more leaning to give someone second chance if they’re doing what I consider forgivable, during rebellion I would try to convince people to stand down first even warn them that the consequences of Eleazar coming will be dire, but they don’t listen so I killed the soldier and leave as much alive as possible.
The case with Fion I would prefer to put him on house arrest than outright execute him, I disagree with Eleazar but I killed Fion myself thinking probably being jailed by Eleazar would be worse fate.
But I stop there and prevent desecration of graves and kidnapping his relative, I would rather tell Eleazar to do whatever he want because he is against my MC, all that matter is I tried Father is in control He is the duke what He say goes, it will be different if my MC is in control, but sadly my MC is not in control my MC is just a heir for now.
Oh of course haha, but I meant I specifically like how there are multiple opportunities for the character to grow and change in different ways! ^^
This element feels a bit more fleshed out than other games I’ve played and there’s still a lot more for the MC to go through
Yes, I look forward to seeing how the author resolves the continuity wonkiness around this particular group of scenes. There’s a lot of nuance they could work into the choices and flavour text. The existing scenes are great if they happen to match the way you’re playing your MC. If you’re not playing the way the scenes expect though it’s quite a sudden “yoink” out of the story.
Ive gotten them before so kinda weird you dont have them but if i had to guess its because of choices you had made in the past.
Could be they didnt unlock that ice shard(forger spells name) spell during the castle attack scene
Hmm I guess you need some control of your power and have some compassion, it was open for me.
I pick their soldiers and only soldier, you also take care to not harm your soldier.
during attack on castle (Mother death scene) choose to turn back, do not let yourself to be carried, this will unlock elemental special attack
I will do this part first, the fairy court. Because there will be choices that will directly impact the future of the demo, but of course, the route will be optional. You can choose not to go, and that will also bring other changes in the future. But after this route, you may already be in the scenes of the old demo. With more scenes, dialogues, and so on, but continuing the old demo.
