A very nice story to read, i am glad it is re-open…

not sure whether it had been mention, but i found a scene seems odd…

I had chosen to aid Vin in the rebels’ attempt to raid the tax collector , however i had also decided to bring along Malina to meet the Baron , up to the event where i join Vin’s rebels, Malina was with me all along, but her character seems to be left out during and after the event of the raid… i feel it strange since Malina had been fond of me and had been giving me her opinion up to the meeting with the Baron, but totally left out of the conversation with Vin’s group

Oh wow, I’m glad people are still interested! Yes I’m going to start working on this again, though it might take a while to pick up the threads again. I might post some more little short story pieces while I do.

@Eric_knight, in reply to your spoilery bit: the apprentice is not supposed to be there with you on the raid.

Would any of you like to see some background/history/lore stuff?

Definitely! Its been such a long time since our last lore feed! I’d love it. Then again I’d love a lot of things. Like to fight our apprentice! Fight, fight, kiss kiss.~

I’d like a refresher on the royal family for example. Are there any considerable rivals for the blue bloods? Are we seen as a potential problem as well? Seeing as how we can be revered like a god and such

Ooh, good question.

So super-quick history lesson: one thousand years ago, the great city of An Taherys was destroyed taking the heart of the Taheryk Empire and its leaders with it. The whole of the Empire was plunged into chaos and infighting, especially the country of Taherys itself (what’s now known as Terris).

The few survivors of the noble family of tal Oritas managed to fight their way to the top and provide some form of stability to the shattered country. The current royal family is descended from the tal Oritas line.

When the MC was born, the King was King Dannet. At this point the royal family was very small. The King was an old man even back then, but he had only one son. Unfortunately, the prince died of illness (this happened when MC would have been in their teens). This left the King’s closest relative and heir as his great-nephew Galinar. The King’s sister had married into Maltheran nobility (Maltheres is the neighbouring country to Terris), so Galinar had been raised Maltheran. When he became the heir he moved to Terris so he could learn more in preparation for taking the throne, but the common Terriks were not so happy about this ‘foreign’ prince. As you can probably gather, this opinion has not changed much now that Galinar’s actually King. They think he cares more about Maltheres than Terris.

Galinar himself is a widower, and has so far refused to remarry. His only child is the Crown Prince/ss, the lovely Kayeuris, who you may have briefly talked to in the neutral path.

Oh, you are definitely a potential threat. As you see the position of the royal family is pretty precarious at the moment. There are certainly people who would rather follow you than the King.

Otherwise, there aren’t clear rivals for the throne, but Maltheres is something of a problem, especially our dear Baron’s family, House Varentes. They are a super-rich Maltheran noble house and the Terrik Crown owes them a fair amount of money (Serel will explain some of this, and also basically that’s why he’s Baron)

Guessing Kay’s mother was Maltheran, then? How old was Kay when they were moved to Terris/how long have they been there now (now as in where the current memory is)?

She was, yes. I’m guessing Kay would have been a young teen when they moved, so it would have been almost ten years.

I would be thrill to learn some background of my apprentice, Malina if it is not spoiler

It seems Malina’s relationship with her family are cold and she said something like she had no remorse to move away from her family, even to a degree that she doesn’t care for them… and it was written that Malina’s raw power may even be greater than the MC’s (before receiving the awaken power), so it is interesting to know how Malina inherit such raw power ? So , i am thinking my MC and Malina will be the strongest magic couple should she fully utilise her power

and i especially like the scene when Malina call upon the rats to force the merchant to hand over the quest item to me she is awesome and cool

Some of it is too spoilery, but I can tell you some! (Spoiler blurred in case anyone only wants to learn this stuff in-game)

Malina is from a little village way down in the south of the country. It’s quite a poor region with mostly fishing villages. The people there are known for being quite superstitious, particularly those that live closer to the ruins of An Taherys (but who can blame them :ghost: ). Like she tells the MC, she’s the daughter of a tailor, so her family would be maybe a rung up socially, but still not exactly rich or middle-class. She grew up learning some of those skills - she’s actually pretty good at embroidery though she’s probably embarrassed to show the MC that.

You’re right that her relationship with her family has problems…but that’s all I will say about that! But I’ll say that Leana (a mage from the school, who MC may or may not have been friends with) took Malina from the village after something had happened and Leana was worried both about Mal’s lack of training and the reactions of the villagers.

None of her immediate family ever had any magical abilities, though. Her abilities are more of a coincidence - it is rare, but every now and then you get a mage who naturally has more of a reserve of magical energy, which lets them do more. She’s definitely more powerful than the MC was naturally. In fact, after the MC (who’s kind of cheating) she’s the strongest mage in the country, if not the entire continent. Not Awoken level, but strong. Her and the MC make a good magic power couple

Can we know more about Vin and the True Terkins in general?? Pretty please??

Sure! What do you want to know?

What sparked the group’s formation. Was it something specific or did some random dudes said “let’s attack the king cause he likes pineapples on his pie”?

Also do they hace different customs/culture from the other citizen on this world (can’t remember the name lol) because the masks they wear sound like they have some meaning

And anything on Vin like fun fscts or something I WENT ROGUE FOR DAT ASS

Vin comes from a really big family that was also poor enough to not be able to feed all the kids. So the older kids were expected to either help provide or go make their own way in the world, and when Vin was still pretty young (13-14) they were sent away from home to work as a farmhand. It wasn’t a great job and the people who owned the farm were very strict and stingy to their workers. So Vin ran away from that, and wandered here and there, and saw a lot of people getting mistreated and crushed, which did build up this burning feeling of wanting to do something to change the system. But they didn’t really get very far with it until they met Erith, because Erith could provide contacts and resources from his smuggler days.

The actual point where the True Terriks began to really gain support came with the crowning of the new king, because as I’ve already said, people don’t like him much.

The masks are just to hide the fighters’ identities and maybe to look intimidating.
